JIT brought our cabin back to life!
I’m a busy single mom of two and our cabin in Ashford just outside Mt. Rainier National Park has been in my family for generations. My grandparents bought it decades ago and its always been full of memories. After my parents passed I decided it was finally time to remodel in a way that would honor them, give my kids a place to make their own memories, and make the cabin appeal better as a vacation rental.Unfortunately the first local contractor I hired took my deposit and disapeared. I was heartbroken and didn’t know who to trust. A friend of mine with another cabin in the area told me about Justin and JIT. Since I live Seattle I needed a contractor who would be extremely communicative. Justin and his team were amazing with communication! I got regular updates, progress photos, and fast responses that made me feel like I was there, even though I was two hours away.Justin took time to understand my vision. He asked how I imagined the cabin feeling when it was finished and carefully looked through my Pinterest and Instagram ideas. He’s so creative and thoughtful. I approved many of his suggested updates that helped bring modern comfort while keeping the kind of rustic charm my grandparents loved to talk about so much.They expanced and remodeled the master bathroom plus added a double vanity and luxury rain shower with multiple shower heads that feels like a private mountain spa. In the kitchen, Justin suggested live-edge countertops that kept a handcrafted feel and the specialty finishing work which full of character, refinished floors, warm natural tones, and trim that looked original but new again. They built custom bunk beds for my kids which guests absolutely love and adds real value for short-term rentals.They installed some smart home features and cameras that help me manage and keep an eye on the cabin from a distance. They also did some landscaping work and installed landscape lighting that brings out the natural beauty of the forest around the cabin at night. It feels magical!My kids are thrilled and the cabin started booking almost immediately! Guests constantly comment on how it feels both cozy and modern with just the right mix of old and new.Since then, I’ve had JIT back several times for small projects and quick repairs between guest stays. They’re always fast, dependable, and incredibly kind which means so much when the cabin’s only vacant for a day or just a few hours at a time. They’ve also provided cleaning services for me a few times when I’ve been in a pinch.After being burned before, finding someone as honest, creative, and communicative as Justin was such a relief. JIT wasn’t the cheapest option but I’m so glad I chose them! His team brought our cabin back to life and helped blend family history with modern comfort in a way my grandparents would be proud of!
