Become the Jazz Player You Dream to Be

Thanks to Noah's Neo Jazz Piano Method i am able to chase my deep desire to become the best Jazz Pianist I could possibly be. Never in my life did I think I'd see myself having the potential to become the player Noah's Jazz Piano Secrets is making me. I'm looking forward to my future as a Neo Jazz Pianist. Noah's courses give you access to a language that is found only in your favorite classic Jazz and modern tracks. It truly is an honor to finally have access to the information I thought would always allude me. Great work Noah.

This is the best modern jazz piano program I have found! After 40 years of searching!

Noah Kellman’s jazz piano program is one of the best I have seen! I have a four-year degree in music and have been a working musician who has been trying to understand jazz for a very long time. However, none of what I learned in college or elsewhere equipped me to really understand and play jazz at the level I wanted. Noah’s program is so good because of the specific approach he uses. Musical concepts are explained in a very clear way that allows you to apply them to the music instantly. For example, every exercise recommended is highly musical and is a joy to use. Separately, Noah is very good at explaining complex harmonic frameworks in a way that is easily understandable. Nothing I have come across in the past compares to this program and his approach. Every lesson is a gem that highlights specific modern jazz piano concepts. I used to watch videos of my favorite jazz pianists play live and I could just not understand what they were doing. Now, after just a couple of weeks on the program, I am starting to understand what they are doing! This piano program is a step above anything I have found out there, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you want to finally break through to understanding jazz and actually playing it, this is the thing to do. Just do it, you won’t regret it.

I wanted to learn to play jazz piano…

I wanted to learn to play jazz piano and came across Noah's offering online. I was skeptical about online lessons because they were new to me and it does seem that in person lessons would be best. I was happily surprised and enjoyed my lessons. My teacher Justin was very high quality and the setup works quite well. Also, there is a high level of responsiveness from Noah and my teacher which I appreciate very much!

Accessing account

I had difficulties accessing my account in the "Jazz Piano Secrets" platform. Texted Noah and got an answer straight away! Everything was sorted in less than 6-7mins. Thank you very much!

Great 3 month program!

Really great program from Noah and his team! I had an unusual profile and interest re: my piano skills, and they created a tailored 3 month program and it went really well. They were accommodating and flexible too, and adjusted quickly based on my schedule/interests/abilities. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience!

I signed up for Noah Kellman's online neo jazz course last summer and it has been truly outstanding. Not only has it added a plethora of new harmonic and melodic techniques and styles for me to incorporate into my playing, but Noah also provides many valuable resources such as pdfs of essential jazz exercises and warmups; weekly instructional videos; an online discussion forum to get feedback, ask questions and share tracks of your finished and in-progress pieces with him and other professional jazz piano coaches. I cannot recommend this course enough!

No regrets

In a span of about 3 months in Noah's program, I was able to go from really only knowing major scales to understanding concepts such as open and rootless voicings, ballad stride, how to use modes in the proper context, improv techniques, and how to create progressions. If you are considering the program and are willing to put in the consistency to learn, you won't be disappointed.

scaled my online piano teaching business from 0 to 5000 followers!

Let me start by saying that if you are considering joining Noah's mentorship program, do it! I primarily enrolled to learn from Noah how to built up an online piano teaching business. He was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire 3 month program, replying to my messages and questions (and I had TONS of questions!) within the same day, meeting with me individually 2-3 times per week, and creating a customized program to scale my business. Before this mentorship program, I relied on direct referrals to find new students — Noah guided me through an individualized, step-by-step process to grow my business and build a social media following. He has expertise in all aspects of business scaling, including website development, lead capture, email marketing, ad promotion, social media content strategy, sales funnels, messaging/communications, analytics, brand building, identifying the ideal client... a truly comprehensive, detailed, and intentionally paced approach to everything that goes into running an effective online business. Noah is always supportive, though he will not do the work for you — you will need to put in the time and maintain a good work ethic to see results. But his guidance and wisdom truly saved me years of trial-and-error!I started with almost no following on social media, and a website that wasn't making any sales. At the time of this review, I now have 5000 engaged followers on Instagram, and nearly 200 students enrolled in my intro course. Thank you Noah for helping me achieve my goals, and make my dreams for We ArtPlay into reality!!!- JeremyWeArtPlay.com

Immersive Experience with a Knowledgeable and Empathetic Instructor

tl;dr If you're looking for a knowledgeable, empathetic, and passionate instructor, who makes himself available and curates an incredibly supportive community and you are an intermediate player serious about improving your composing, improv, and listening abilities, you shouldn't hesitate on joining the program. If you're not a solid intermediate player, but have significant experience with music (other instrument, production, etc) and the time to work hard, you'll get a ton out of this course. Lifetime access to the material sealed the deal.Noah is easily one of of the best educators I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning from. I say this as as a math and physics educator of ten years. To give a little more background, I consider myself a producer, tinkerer, sound designer, and bassist primarily with relatively little jazz background besides listening. I chose to jump into the course since I wanted a way to improve my piano chops. I entered the course with lower intermediate piano skills and most of the work I had done on piano had been in the classical realm.I honestly don't even know where to begin in terms of describing the experience working with Noah since every aspect was top notch. Methods - what I appreciate most about Noah's method is that he approaches learning jazz like a language. The whole "music as a language" thing is a bit cliché at this point, but he has a unique approach. He rarely explicitly says "this is a language," but gives the impression through his methods. His emphasis is on actual acquisition and not rote memorization of patterns - of course some of that is necessary in any discipline, but you really need to think to acquire the skills which ultimately serves you better when applying and feeling at home with the knowledge.Availability - To be honest, Noah's approach and content is worth the price of the course alone, but then you actually get to ask him questions personally and hang with him in weekly live sessions and on Discord! I'm convinced at this point that the dude must not sleep, because he was always available to field literally every question (no matter how many times it had been repeated) pretty late into the evening. Patience and dedication doesn't even begin to describe Noah's temperament. The fact that he is so excited about sharing his knowledge makes it clear that you're learning from a truly passionate person that just wants to make the world a better place by having other people experience music the way that he does.Content - This is the meat of the class, obviously. I'll say it right now - if you're not at a solid intermediate level or are not prepared to grind hard every week or have big life changes coming up (I did an international move in the middle of the course, which greatly hampered my progress), you may wanna think twice about joining. That's no slight against the program. It's just the reality - and it's a good thing. Noah knowingly provides you more than ample material that will keep you busy for months beyond the program if not a whole year. That's where I found myself. I was doing pretty well for the first month keeping up with the material, but then I quickly learned the limits of my piano ability, lol. By week 5 or so, the content gets a little more rigorous and demands more of your time (if you're at a lower intermediate level like myself). I actually asked Noah about this at the beginning of the course and he was super transparent about what my ability should be and offered me a refund after the first month if I felt I was in over my head. I'm far too stubborn to give up, but just being present in the group discussions and live video sessions was more than enough to keep me around - even if I wasn't making quick progress. Noah and the rest of the community are super supportive. Personally, I'd much rather have an over abundance of things to work on as opposed to not having enough content to work through. This also ensures that the more advanced players don't get bored. From what I could tell, the most advanced players in the group still felt challenged and progressed amazingly from Noah's feedback. In terms of the actual content, you learn some incredibly mind-blowing ideas that can really open up your relationship with composing, improv, and performing. I think Noah actually has the modern neo-soul/neo-jazz sound down to a science, which provides an incredibly strong foundation for being more creative. Another integral component of the course is ear-training. Noah emphasizes this continuously. Anecdotally, after a month of being in the course I noticed pretty large leaps in my playing and listening. The fact that you get lifetime access to all the resources allows you to progress at a comfortable pace.

Skilled, savvy, superb piano teacher

Noah is a genuinely fantastic piano teacher. His teaching methods are straightforward and comprehensive, he explains concepts articulately and is always looking to answer questions/provide assistance. An effective communicator who knows how to bridge the knowledge gap with any student, his easygoing yet energetic demeanor makes learning advanced piano techniques both comfortable and fun. Since watching his YouTube content and enrolling in his signature Jazz Piano Secrets course, my piano technique, feel and artistry have improved more rapidly than I could have ever imagined. And have you seen/heard him play?? Nothing but lovely music and insightful teaching from this guy, who's as humble as can be. Nothing but great things to write about him.

What does make Noah Kellman a great teacher

What does make Noah Kellman a great, wonderful teacher? he can really, firmly convince you thatyou'll actually be able to reach the goal that you want to achieve.when I heard of his own methods and curriculums in Jazz, I actually screamed out in my mind. 'cause it really, actually convinced me to think..;'I could actually do that, if I invest and devote my time on it."now, I believe, there must be a huge distinction between the lines from..; 'I might be able to do that or I just hope I could be like that'to 'wow, I must be able to do that if I actually do focus and invest my time to it.'and it must be one of the most thrilling and precious thing for one could ever have along one's studying.he will leave you only with the space that now you just need to fill in with your effort, dedication and creativity.and how great is that? THE ONLY THING THAT'S LEFT IS NOW, is FOR YOU TO GIVE A SHOT with he's marvellously well-structured and detailed curriculums!. and very importantly also, You'll be You. not Noah. you'll develop your own style at the end of everything under the promise of improving the solid&profound skill, knowledge, vocabulary and process of learning a thing in Jazz.and that's one of things that he's always been emphasizing and focusing on.and for the last word,he’s nature is very humble, kind and caring. I've always been encouraged and reassured with his kind words and feedbacks throughout the course.he's straight forward and clear for he's words, but with a great fathom of understanding and caring.it’s been really honour to have a course by him.will I never exchange what I've learnt by him with anything. Thank you very very much Noah!

You won't find a better teacher

I originally discovered Noah via YouTube, through his work with Chad LB and his instructional videos. His piano skills are absolutely world class, and his videos are always amazing, informative, seamlessly constructed and most importantly, fun. I was lucky enough to get to chat with him via Zoom, and I immediately signed up for his Jazz Piano Secrets course. I haven't regretted it - he just keeps supplying incredible resources and ideas, and is always responsive to questions. Do yourself a favour and tap into this man's knowledge. You'll be glad you did.

An excellent improvisation system !

I've been learning the piano for almost 18 years now and this is by far the most to-the-point and concise set of lessons I have ever come across ! It's very easy to understand as Noah found the words to explain the concepts in such a simple manner. I'm very grateful for this as rather than learning the notes of a song from YouTube I can now take the chords of the song through this system that gives me so much freedom of expression - an opportunity to tell my version of the song.

Thank you Noah

Thank you Noah, for creating this exemplary jazz course. I have done some other online jazz courses, but yours is much more detailed and thorough, and really drills down into the How and Why of contemporary jazz improvisation and harmony. The lessons are well-presented, and the downloadable exercises have changed the way I practice. There is enough material in this course to work on for at least a year. Highly recommended.

Noah is a genius

Noah is a genius. He is so generous with his talent, knowledge, and passion and so gifted with his teaching of jazz that if all you can do is appreciate his class as the door to your personal growth as a musician, then you will have what you need to play jazz the way you've wanted to play jazz. Thank you, Noah. Brain to heart to fingers.

Awesome Instructor!

Noah has a passion for music, but an even brighter passion for teaching and ensuring his students understand. He equipped us with a carefully thought-out lesson plan and all the resources we'll need to grow as musicians. He's very interactive and knows how to plot out a course that will indeed get us to the destination he's invited us to journey with him toward; charming, understanding, down-to-earth, and very quick to acknowledge and correct his few mistakes. My only qualm is that I wish I could have him for myself! Such a great teacher is such a rare find, after all.

Such a great course and mentor

I have had the pleasure and honor of studying with Noah Kellman initially through his amazing YouTube videos, and more recently through both the Jazz Piano Secrets online course and a one on one mentorship program. In all cases Noah offers incredible content in a logically designed course. While The YouTube videos offers specific content on a particular subject the Jazz Piano Secrets course is a three pronged approach to improvisation through technique building, ear training and melodic/harmonic cell and line building through neo soul progressions. For all musicians either fully engaged in piano, wanting to get back into it or wanting to develop the piano as a second instrument I highly recommend this course. But as important as the course materials are it is Noah himself who really makes the material breathe. He develops and facilitates a one on one relationship with all students through a public message board and delivers constant encouragement and suggestions along the way. Noah meets all students wherever they currently are and builds upon their desired direction. His developed "systems" show a real commitment to pedagogy and does not follow the traditional approach to improvisation which is refreshing. Working one on one has been truly engaging and encouraging. Having personally floundered repeatedly in the compositional arena Noah quickly identified a course of action which already has resulted in substantial improvement in just a few weeks. His ability to listen, offer advice, identify intent and create a unique personal approach fosters a relationship of trust and confidence. Those willing to put in the work will reap huge personal gains. His background is quite impressive but more so is his desire to share his knowledge and expertise in a mentorial fashion. His self effacing personality is disarming and his breadth of knowledge is a well of content to be applied to any individual situation.Lastly, I believe if you follow Noah's process, let him engage in your desired direction you will develop a relationship that results in significant gains in your musical development.
