SCAM MERCHANTS BORDEAUX AIRPORT
We booked a car months in advance to collect with fully comp insurance included at a good price PAID in full upfront .We then got caught up in the Manchester airport power failure so our flight was cancelled so we found another flight the same day from Luton but when we arrived in Bordeaux GOLD car was shut .Next morning we went to collect the car We were told their SYSTEM cancelled all cars after 6 hours if you didn’t arrive even though they knew our flight was cancelled .However we were in luck and they could give us a car for £480 !!!!! Double what we had paid .Oh and yes we WOULD NOT be getting a refund on our original booking they were keeping that too .SCAM or what it’s an airport flights get cancelled that’s life and WOW are they making the most of it NO DISCRETION at all and this was the so called Manager A lady with dark hair and no conscience .We rang the travel agent we booked the car through they offered us a car through gold car at a similar price to what we had paid Previously but GOLD-CAR blocked the booking .DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS we had a credit card and booked elsewhere not everyone can do that they are ruining people’s holidays with a SMILE on there face as they do it we took our business to another car rentals place .

I reserved the vehicle in advance through the Ryanair system, paid for the rental, and received a voucher. As I am a professional driver with 30 years of experience without traffic accidents, I did not contract insurance through the mentioned application. When picking up the vehicle, you changed the terms and asked for a 1560 Euro deposit, which exceeds the daily limit for my credit cards. In the conditions it says: deposit on the card of 600-1400 Euros. I had no choice but to take the insurance, which after those 10 minutes went up in price from 47 to 148 Euros. You also did not write in the terms and conditions that it is necessary to pay an additional airport tax of 20 EUR. In the above way, you stole an additional 148 euros from me, as well as 20 euros of airport tax. In addition, the car was in a desperate condition, it was written that it would be an Opel Moca CrossOver, and I got a Renault Megane. When I said that it was a problem for me to get into low vehicles, I was told that it was not their problem! In addition to the above, the vehicle was damaged in more than 20 different places, which can be seen on the handover documents. Your company is fraudulent, and I will share my experience publicly on all forums, so that others will be aware of your fraudulent intentions.

Wish it's possible to rate negative stars! Normally I don't give reviews unless compelled to.Beware!!! most likely it's a scam, you will never receive your security deposit & get a response. They will treat you very bad & doesn't seem to have any morals or business ethics & as expensive as reputed ones at the airport, trust me you won't save much or it's worth the hassle. Wouldn't have bothered if I didn't need my money back.Didn't directly book with them, it was via another website but unfortunately ended at this place. The vehicles are in a very poor condition at least the one which I was rented. I'm shocked such places still exist. Sooner or later they will be done. No luck!

I wish I had read these reviews before I booked. We got scammed for extra Insurance even though I said I had already paid. They have refused to refund me and are not replying to any emails.DO not use Gold Car Mallorca.

Worst of the worst
I can only confirm the negative experiences. Picked up a rental car today and it was the worst experience I had with any rental company yet.The service was abysmal. Disinterested employees that did not support in any way.On top of that I was charged over 100% of what I already paid in advace. The employee at the counter stated that they won't hand out the car unless I pay for additional insurances. An obvious scam - so stay away from this company!

Hired a car from gold car rental. Florence for a city break. Back in May On collecting the car at the airport the assistant told us we had to pay an additional €1400.00 for insurance! To which we refused and said we would go else where as we had paid for all insurance on line to which we were told this was not valid !This then changed as we said no to this payment and we paid €30.00 as expected. By the terms of the online booking So step one. Don’t get scammed 2. We had a parking violation in pizza. Which they sent us. Was for €20.00 and was prepared to pay it. As report to gold cars in three emails to send the fine and the website where we could pay our duesThey never did. Now we have had a letter From pizza authorities stating we have to pay €130.00 !Will appeal this for there incompetence to actually help sort the issue. Just stay away from this company It’s not worth the hassle and the scamming !

Run away! The prices you see on their website (very good, btw) are very different than the ones you'll have to pay physically, before picking up the car. At the beginning, we were told that we couldn't pay with a debit card (although the online reservation worked perfectly and we used the same card). Then the guy from the office said he'll make "an exception" and for that exception he obliged us to pay a lot of money for the insurance (this was the first time we took an insurance). Then...Seems that we received a fine in Madrid for which WE had to pay 30 EUR. Well, in the end THEY paid for us and debited us 50 EUR because they also had to fine us 20 EUR for doing their job!!!!! This is incredible. We'll never again use their services again. NEVER!
