I'm currently under their 3-year UK …
I'm currently under their 3-year UK warranty and my camera developed a fault. Contacted Russ in the US twice (second time the call "dropped" after being on hold, two eBay emails (their eBay shop looks deserted), three direct mails, and nobody has got in touch.Russ in the US tells me that it's nothing to do with him (even though previous communication shows his phone number) and that the UK branch is separate.Just sent another email, to "rachel" at getitdigital... sigh.

Poor customer service after my camera …
Poor customer service after my camera developed a fault less than a year after buying it and so far (months later), no repair even though it is under warranty and I have supplied all the information requested.

excellent eBay expereince
I am an intermediate level photographer. I own few Canon cameras and recently I had bought a Nikon D750 of eBay through getitdigital.
the price they offered was $300 cheaper than Amazon for an imported model camera. the camera has no USA warranty but, honestly I have never had any problem replacing or repairing my camera with Nikon USA.
I got the camera in 2 days without expedited shipping.
this is the kind of experience that makes me keep using eBay as the website became less organized over the past few years.
Any company that has over 50,000 reviews on eBay is a secure place for me.

Poor customer service
If you are looking for the best prices on camera's, and you don't care about service then GetItDigital.com may be your type of store. They have the best prices on Camera's around! Unfortunately, their commitment to excellence ends as soon as you need any kind of service or assistance. Uncomfortably enough, as soon as you purchase a Camera from them you'll get a polite phone call explaining that the camera you bought is an "international version" and that if you want a warranty you have to pay extra for a domestic version. They'll invoice you a bill for more money if you want the honor of having your $1,500 camera warrantied. If you want to return said camera, they charge a 5% re-stock fee. Doesn't sound like much when you're dealing with a $100 purchase, but when it's a $3,000 DSLR that 5% adds up to $150! I'm all for re-stock fee's, but lets keep them reasonable. A call to their customer service number resulted in being escalated to a manager who became very irate at my attempts to negotiate a more reasonable restock fee. By the end of the call, he was yelling at me - whoa... I'm the customer, right? I know returns are annoying, but lets keep things in perspective!
I hope that GetItDigital.com can find a way to put a bit more emphasis on customer service. Until then, I'll pay a few dollars more, buy from Amazon, and get treated with dignity. Saving a dime at a discounter isn't worth my self respect.
