Bad quality, terrible communication, auto-deducted the second payment days early, delayed projects
I have 30 years experience as a Director with video editing. I needed an extra editor. I hired editvideo.io on my second search call because they seemed on point, efficient, experienced. Immediately, they demanded I use their Monday communications, which complicated everything, and then demanded I use their dashboard which triples my work, making me do their job. I find out they outsource their work to India. Their editing starts with AI, not humans, and it was obvious they did not review what they sent to me as a "Your Video Editing Is Completed." In some videos the AI put me standing in front of images and words. In all but the last video they skipped slides totally to quicken their job, and I had to insist they go back to my original video use all the slides in my presentation. As would anyone. In other videos they shrunk the screen size and all the words fell off the boundaries and no one would believe a human reviewed what they sent back. They only had 6 videos to edit in a month. They purposefully dragged this out to charge me $495 for a second month. A single video change might end up with 5 requests to use a template that was preventing phone dialog. These videos were simply syncing my dialog, image, and slides - the simplest 6-10 min video work. Another video editor did three in one day without a single glitch or correction. Any correction I sent to their lead person came back with demands to avoid human contact and again use this template that was tedious, and prevented direct correction and attention to detail. I had to pay my first editor money just to use their template. I sent corrections in emails taking only 3 minutes to send, but they refused to use them, sent an auto reply demanding I use their dashboard, forcing me into 30 minutes on their bad dashboard. And they still returned a project that did not correct things. Once they sent a video with almost nothing edited a second time and when I pointed it out they sent an edited version 5 hours later saying "oh, we accidentally sent the first video twice" but there was one change to it so they lied. Getting a real person in charge after you pay them is impossible. And now, two days before I could terminate the one-month of work, they billed me before I could opt out. For the record, I had complaints that never got corrected until I threatened to talk to their boss on these dates. Bare in mind this is just 6 videos. If I put down a date more than once it means I sent multiple messages to correct faults that day because they sent back a faulty version yet again. August: 30, 30, 30,29, 29, 26, 25, 25, 23, 23, 23, 22, 21, 21, 19, 16, 16, 16, 16,16, 14, 13, 11, 3. This does not include 10 emails from my other editor. In summary: they use AI and deliver unwatchable video until pushed to fix it, they skip essential video or slides to rush a job, they make it impossible to contact a superior, the communication system is set up for AI or to skip direct dialog to improve their understanding, and then they push through EARLY BY TWO DAYS a $495 payment so I cannot cancel as I planned to do tomorrow. Do not trust this company. They will return terrible editing, avoid corrections, and drag it out until they can charge you more money. My main editor is going to have to go into all 6 videos to improve them so they follow my requests. When the say their expert editors will improve your video by adding music and supporting visuals, do not believe them. BTW, they used the same background music for all of them, same background images for some of them. Completely deceitful, incapable, and misleading.
