Showing the patient video first before going over pathologies
I really appreciate the facilitators who show us the patient video first and create an experience for students as if they are in a real clinical environment. Some facilitators spend too much time walking through different pathologies and illnesses - while I learn from those, I think it's better for students to develop clinical reasoning skills from having sessions focus more on the process and reasoning skills physicians use to come up with a list of differential diagnoses and an ultimate diagnosis/treatment plan. Hence, I hope more facilitators can focus more on showing how to investigate a patient's narrative, symptoms, behavior, etc thoroughly rather than focus on the illnesses throughout the session. I'm happy to talk about this review more if that would be helpful!

HEAL is Informative
I get to learn a vast range of topics and cases, and learn from different knowledgeable and skilled professionals. There is also the opportunity to learn from medical students, so it is encouraging and more relatable. The classes are very interactive and informative. Through this experience, I am gaining courage to go into the field of medicine.

Clinical shadowing is always so... educational
Clinical shadowing is always so insightful! I learn so much every week and I really enjoy the clinical shadowing sessions! In addition, I truly enjoy the HEAL internship. Being able to be a part of a team of growing healthcare students and professionals has made me grow so much, especially in understanding the business side of medicine. Being able to produce content for HEAL consumers feels so meaningful! All in all, being a part of HEAL has been an amazing experience!

Dr Christoper Behringer is an immature…
Dr Christoper Behringer is an immature Dr and homophobe. He was giving a case study during class what dealt with STI's and couldn't talk without laughing and belittling the client in the case because he was embarrassed by anal sex and STI's. So many better clinical shadowing programs open again now with a downturn in COVID. Do some real and in person training with an MD.

101 is great!
HEAL has actually given me a really great opportunity to learn about different specialties and subsections of medicine. It only served to solidify my decision to actually go into medical school. The instructors are engaging and helpful and the hours you get during pandemic times are lifesaving.

The quality of shadowing is what I enjoy most with heal. I like the fact that I learn something new with every case and I am able ask questions I may not be able to ask with in person shadowing and it's not illegal to ask. Plus there are amazing real patient cases and variety of courses! I repeat real patient cases! And the instructors and heal team are amazing in helping students to get the shadow they need.

I really appreciate this service! I think it's so helpful, convenient, and informative each week to be able to attend these sessions and learn about all kinds of diseases, health conditions, protocols, etc.! I also appreciate that there are recordings of the sessions in case we can't attend the session. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 was because I would love if the recordings would be the full session from start to finish instead of only beginning when the patient case starts (sometimes there is helpful information about HEAL at the start of sessions that I end up missing since it's not in the recordings). Overall I still really love HEAL, and I am so grateful that I started using it! I'm also grateful that it's online meaning we could still gain shadowing hours even during the pandemic! Thank you to everyone who was involved and is still involved in setting up and running this program!

I've learned a lot from HEAL. It's a very interactive experience, you get to ask the doctor/med student questions anytime, and work through cases together as opposed to just a passive presentation.

HEAL Clinical Shadowing is very different than typical virtual shadowing. I like how they present real patient's cases and go through the diagnosis with us! This is definitely valuable information that we will use in medical school.
