My confidence in the publishing process…

My confidence in the publishing process has been genuinely restored by working with Rae Donnelly. Rae distinguished herself right away with her openness professionalism and sincere concern for my project in a field that regrettably has a lot of frauds and false promises. She honored all of my instructions took the time to fully comprehend my vision and ensured that my voice stayed genuine throughout. All of the promised services were provided precisely as described. The entire writing process was well planned seamless and far simpler than I had anticipated.

I can't thank Book Writing League…

I can't thank Book Writing League enough for helping me publish my book. When I first approached them, I honestly didn't know where to start or what to expect. Writing the manuscript was one thing, but the idea of publishing felt overwhelming and stressful. From the very first conversation their team made me feel supported and understood. They patiently walked me through every step of the process from formatting and editing to cover design and distribution explaining things in a way that made sense even to someone like me who had never published before. I always felt like the genuinely cared about my book and my goals, not just the business side of things. Thanks to them my book is finally out in the world looking professional and reaching readers I never thought I could connect with. Working with Book Writing League wasn't just a service it felt like having a partner who truly wanted my success.

My Experience With Book Writing League — Deceptive Business Practices

I signed a contract with Book Writing League on November 5, 2025, and paid $3,400 on November 7. The only thing I ever received was an electronic book cover design. Shortly afterward, I was asked to purchase a $12,000 marketing package, which I declined. After refusing the upsell, I was pressured repeatedly to submit my book manuscript.Because the pressure tactics felt inappropriate, I researched the company and found numerous public complaints describing similar issues. Based on what I discovered, I decided not to send them my manuscript. I exercised my termination right under Section 7.1 of the contract, and the company acknowledged my cancellation in writing on December 5, 2025.On December 23, 2025, my attorney sent a 30‑day demand letter citing Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93A. The letter stated that accepting my money, agreeing to terminate the contract, and failing to refund the payment constituted an unfair and deceptive act. No one responded by the January 23, 2026 deadline.I have since filed complaints with consumer‑protection agencies in California and Massachusetts, as well as federal agencies. I’m sharing this to help others make informed decisions. Everything here is based on my documented experience and publicly available information. After my experience, I searched for public reviews and found numerous complaints on platforms such as Trustpilot, the Better Business Bureau, and Yelp describing similar concerns. These reviews are publicly available and easy to find by searching the company’s name.“I was contacted by: 1)- Joshua Gibbs regarding my manuscript.2)- My contract listed Sasha Miller as the compliance manager.3)- Rae Donnelly emailed me the invoice.By the way, it looks like the same shady pattern is happening again — Joshua Gibbs posting 5‑star reviews for himself to dilute the failing rating. It’s extremely easy for anyone to verify. Just compare the timestamps with the supposed “published books” he claims to have worked on. The inconsistencies speak for themselves.

You’ll be sorry!

All I can say is don’t do it. You’ll be sorry! They hide their fraud with incompetence. Try to see how many of these other reviews actually have works published. Unfortunately, I have read others that had similar experiences, But when I look up on Amazon, the people with the five star reviews are nowhere to be found. Their books do not exist. I have made a formal complaint with the FTC and the FBI IC3 unit. I just hope that you learned by my mistake. I have emails that say they will refund me my money but they don’t. It began with them taking the BBB logo with an A+ rating and putting it on their webpage. I have screenshots. I have Proof, the rating on BBB is actually an F rating the worst it can be. All in all they got me for over 12 grand so you might think about it before you make the plunge. At one point in time I received payment for somebody else’s book. I told Joshua about it and he laughed and said it was his his mistake. I’m sure that author never got his money. They truly are fraudulent disguised as incompetent.

DO NOT USE BOOK WRITING LEAGUE!!!

DO NOT USE BOOK WRITING LEAGUE!!!There aren’t enough words to fully encapsulate how utterly disappointing it has been to “work” with Book Writing League. I say “work” because I quite literally ended up paying them to do absolutely nothing. I began this process in August. I provided them with 150 poems and asked them for minimal grammatical edits, help on the cover design, and the isbn. Instead they took 2 months to provide me with a complete restructuring of my poems which included changing my words entirely and adding punctuation where it wasn’t needed. The cover designs they provided were completely AI and when I provided a mood board to help them get a better idea as to what I wanted, they literally put everything from the mood board into a weird collage and presented it to me as a cover option. I ended up having to contract an actual graphic designer separate from this company in order to get the cover completed. And just when I thought this 5 month nightmare was over, I go to upload my book to Amazon and they say the isbn is not valid. And since trying to get ahold of anyone at this company during the duration of this project was akin to pulling teeth, I decided to just buy my own isbn- since 3 of the texts I sent today went unanswered and I have no doubt that they will remain that way. Not only do I wholeheartedly believe that no one at this company has even seen a book, I also believe that it has to be a scam in some way. None of the books shown on the site are real books aside from one, and after reaching out to the author months ago and never hearing back, I’m beginning to think it’s fake as well. If I could do it all over again I never would have given them a dime, I would have figured out how to do it on my own (which I basically did since they did nothing), and I would have had this book published 3 months ago like I had originally planned. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!!!

I'm writer

I'm writer, not a marketer. When the marketing plan for my thriller was explained to me, I thought it sounded unnecessary and complicated. I resisted at every step until the results came in. My book earned about 33,000 this year and now I understand that strategy matters just as much as storytelling. The person didn't just prove me wrong. They changed my career path.

I wrote a YA fantasy during my college years and left it unfinished. Joshua Gibbs helped me complete it, polish the world building and develop a marketing plan. Book Writing League positioned the book beautifully, helped with ads, and connected me with fantasy bloggers. The book earned around $74,000 in the year. for someone who never intended to market anything, this felt surreal. I owe Joshua Gibbs a huge thank you for believing in my story and guiding me all the way.
