Don't buy if you have a small Dog
I have a 5 year old female Pomeranian and I ordered the Beef dog food. Every time I tried to introduce some in with her kibble she would vomit it up within 5 or 6 minutes. I called and talked to one of their customer service reps, after 5 days. She asked me to try again only giving her a couple pieces with each meal. I tried again for 2 days and she would not eat the food. I called again and they told me I could pay shipping and return the bag or they could give me a 30% refund and keep the food. Their food is expensive and their return policy is not good for customers.

I have had a subscription with Badlands…
I have had a subscription with Badlands Ranch since 2023. Originally for dog food, which I found I could not afford. I called to cancel and was offered a subscription for Superfood 20 powder to use as a topper plus a free Beef liver treats monthly. I accepted and have been happy as my dogs until Nov 2025. Nov 2025, my monthly order was missing the free Beef liver treats and has been every month since I can see my subscription on my Badlands online account. I have called every month and tried to get this straighten out. They told me they could not see the subscription, then it was only suppose to be for one month even though I received from 2023 until Nov 2024. I have emailed them and called again to talk with a supervisor. Veronica told me the free treat was only suppose to be for one month, talked over and would not let me finish what I was trying to tell her. Customer Service was lacking. She said she would honor the free treats, but I would have to call in every month to request. My dogs do like the products, but Badlands customer service is half- ass. I expected better treatment and service. I do not want to go through this every month of calling to request what I have been getting since 2023. I got angry with Veronica and hung up on her rambling as she was trying to talk over me. I am done with Badlands after 4 months of calling to get this crazy issue resolved.

Why would you use images of dogs who are obviously old and actually may be dying to make it look like a customers dog would be better off if they ate your dog food.What an awful way to market your product.Those images of the old and dying dogs in your commercials is terrible and you should be totally ashamed of yourselfs and your company

Dog food very good. Price outrageous!
The dog food is very good however the size of the bag is not 24 lb, it's 24 oz! That's a pound and a half and then they use questionable pricing gimmicks: $59.95 but spin the wheel and you get a big discount to $39.95 for a pound and a half of food? I will use it as treats but certainly not purchase again because of the outrageous pricing for a tiny bag of food.

badlands ranch = bad service and prices
I ordered 3 bags or severely over priced dog food and 6 days later hadn't received any shipping updates although the order was marked complete for 4 days. I reached out to customer service on the 6th day, and was told my shipping address was bad and they emailed me about it. I received a lot of spam emails but nothing else! They cancelled my order and now my dog wont have food for a week. They don't allow you to review their business on their website. NOT A GOOD SIGN!

This is a very disappointing experience on many levels for me. Anybody can make a beautiful looking product a great looking website, and appear to offer phenomenal shipping, however, the proof is in what is actually happening behind the scenes. Nowhere on the website does it say how big the bag is. And when you pay an arm and a leg for what is supposed to be nutritious food for an animal, everything needs to be disclosed and I don’t feel everything has been disclosed. I did not pay 60+ dollars for a bag of 12 ounces of food to get not even 12 ounces of food. When you take it out of the bag and you actually weigh it, it’s not 12 ounces. Misleading. And this is for both dog and cat food that I purchased. Also, my pets are not big on it at all, so I paid a lot of money for food that is probably not gonna get eaten. Then you have the problem of the shipping company. I have never heard of this shipping company in my life. And I know logistics well, at no time could I track the package or find out when they were going to deliver it. It said it was out for delivery for three days. Absolutely terrible tracking, and delivery service. Maybe that’s why that portion of it is free because it’s such bad service that you don’t know when you’re gonna get it or if you’re gonna get it. The other portion I don’t like is they make you seem like you’re gonna get this wonderful product that is going to truly benefit the animals. How will your pets benefit from it if you can’t get them to eat it. Are we force feeding our animals so we can get our moneys worth? Then I hate the factor of trying to pressure you to buy at the last minute and subscribe to all these things that you don’t need or want. It’s like a bad gross used car salesman that’s pressuring you to buy the lemon that you really don’t need or want but you buy it because you just wanna shut him up. I understand the whole process of having a good product, but between the product, the pushing of the product, and the service of the product. Its awful. Take your money elsewhere don’t buy this food. It is not worth it for the amount of money you spend. I will gladly spend it somewhere else where I can track it, know that I’m getting, and the quantity that I paid for and that my animals will actually eat it.

Over priced! Terrible quality bag it comes in
pay an arm and a leg for 1 single bag and every single bag you purchase I promise you it will break wear it seals shut!! I’ve been using this food for 3 years now and i haven’t had one single bag where the bag reseals properly and doesn’t break. I’m at the breaking point with this matter!!! It Doesn’t matter how gentle or soft you open the bag the glue or whatever it is holding the seal to the bag always just breaks and then you have to take all the food and put it in a zip lock bag. Very annoying for something you’re paying so so much for. In my opinion go else ware, pay way way less, your dog can still get premium high quality food from non greedy folks, and the biggest plus, i guarantee the bags won’t break every single time. I’m just curious why it’s so much and they can’t even get the bag it comes in correct? Greed in this world has officially taken over! More money doesn’t always mean better product! Don’t buy this unless you wanna deal with expensive overly priced dog food, and bags that will never properly seal!

Return was unsatisfactory
I had ordered some product to try & received it my dogs seemed to like it ok however I felt the price was to high. I then received another order 3 weeks later that I did not sign up for however apparently I did when I placed the first order when I went to cancel & explain that I clearly was unaware I agreed to a monthly subscription somehow all they would do to correct it was give me a small discount or I would have to pay at my expense to send the product back. I am disappointed in myself in the sense I missed somehow the subscription however there ability to resolve this issue was in my view not acceptable. I would strongly advise to be very careful with there so called subscription it does not just mean a newsletter it means keeping your credit card on file & sending product out regularly. I found Badlands ranch to be be very deceptive.

Saved My Dog and Me!!!
My dog a Shih tzu, had been having horrible gel like stools and has been the pickiest eater I have ever had. I had resorted to cooking her chicken and rice, however nothing helped. My vet tried her on one medication a couple of times that usually works for that sort of thing, but it kept returning. Then I saw this Infomercial and was desperate so I tried it. My dog loved it!!!! She hates everything lol!! Her poops got normal within a week and she seemed to have more energy and her hair is soft, but all shih tzu’s have soft hair. The only problem that I have incurred is with this one woman in customer service…..hopefully they placed her elsewhere. When I finally got through to a good CSR everything was taken care of immediately! The incessant advertising is absolutely annoying, but you can block it and stop it. So I am very very happy with Badlands Ranch Chicken Super Food!! This is, I think the first review I have written, however, I read some bad ones and thought I might could help.

Dogs gobble it!
My dogs won’t eat this at all and it made her so itchy I had to spend $400 at the vet after spending $150 in food and treats. UPDATE!! I found out she has environmental allergies. It wasn’t from this food. And now they love it!

My experience with Badlands Ranch was very disappointing. The product quality did not match what was advertised, and I didn’t notice any of the health benefits they claimed for my pet. The price is extremely high, and the value does not justify the cost. I also contacted customer service, but their response was slow and not helpful at all. Overall, I cannot recommend Badlands Ranch — I’ve found much better options with other brands.

Customer service is very inconsistent and the people working the chat function do not care. Placed an order which supposedly shipped on the 25th. Carrier website stated it was en route for processing. 5 days later, same status. Got in touch through the online chat and was told I would have to wait until it has been 7 days even though it is apparent that it never shipped. They dont seem to care to correct the issues. 2 days later I call again and after 10 to 15 minutes and my explaining multiple times the carrier states they do not have the package, they start the process of shipping a replacement.3 days go by and finally the order is listed as shipped. I had subscribed but with the lack of customer service or even knowing if or when your order will ship, I will carry my business elsewhere. Also, on a seperate note, good luck just placing an order without page after page of selling you something else. Its kind of like when you purchase something online and it is page after page of today only, add this for this price. Next page, last chance, next page something else. Constant upsell. Great product, bad service and customer experience. Stay Clear of them.

Shipping issues
I ordered dog food on November 29 2025 and my Visa card was charged on that date .I was given a Dec. 6 2025 delivery date. I rec'd an email Dec 1 that the order had been shipped, with a "tracking number". I checked on Dec. 6 it said "out for delivery". It never came that day, or the next 2 days. I finally called Badlands shipping and they said, whoops, your order never shipped. I've just checked Reddit and the BBB. Apparently many others have had similar shipping issues with Badlands. Other reviews mention the Failure to cancel subscriptions. I don't know if these "shipping issues" are gross incompetence or if the company relies on a percentage of people giving up or not knowing how to fight back. I certainly hope that Katherine Heigl is not using her TV celebrity and heart-tugging commercials to lure unsuspecting people to purchase a product that never arrives.

Not for small dogs don’t fall for…
If you have small dogs don’t fall for this food. I have 3 small dogs 5, 6 and 7 lbs and the food is way too hard for them to chew. I even tried to give it away and my 2 friends dogs would not even eat it. What a waist of money.

Web site says full refund on return of product. IT DOES NOT say either when you contact customer service or when they send instructions for return that you must send back empty package to get your return.

Food Quality GREAT, BUT Customer Service Poor
While the food quality is great, their customer service is HORRENDOUS. Every single order I had always had some sort of issue - missing items, too many items, items sent to me from other people's orders, charging me twice, etc. On top of that, their customer service people are poorly trained and extremely inefficient. I was told my card was charged when it never was, no replies to emails, issues with my orders where they weren't providing proactive solutions. Horrible experience.

This was the most inconvienent and disturbing processes I have ever dealt with. Hoping to try a product at a lower cost. It started fine but when ordering it would not allow me to put in a shipping address, so the package was going to be sent to my billing address (in another state). The customer care person changes my shipping address and cancels my order. Told me she had to and that even my continuous orders would not go to the shipping address because I was paying with PayPal and it was a security thing. This whole thing made no sense at all, so in the end I don't get to try the food for my dog at a reduced rate because it was a onetime thing. On top of that I am unable to even create an account on the website. Worst experience ever and if this is the way one customer is treated it gives a bad taste for me to even think this company is a good company.
