It was a fun workshop but there could have been more instruction and interaction between the instructor while completing the lamps. Could have been more details on colours, patterns using samples
Based on other reviews, it sounds like my experience was unusual. But I do want to share it, in case it's helpful to others. I signed up for a turkish lamp making workshop with my mom. We bought tickets separately. We hardly ever get to spend time together, and so we were both extremely excited for the class. I paid about $135 dollars to take the class, which is a lot of money for me. One day before the class, I received a text saying the event had been overbooked, somehow. They offered to either ship me a DIY kit to complete at home, or to send me a gift card for their company for the value of the class plus an additional 30% value.I explained that I had planned to attend with my mom, and how much we had been looking forward to doing this together. I asked if there was any way they could still include me in the class. They responded saying that I could keep my original booking. When I arrived (15 minutes early), I was told that the kit I had purchased (the rechargeable camping version) was not available. At first, I was heavily pressured to take a different kit - for some people, this might have been acceptable, but I specifically wanted to use the lamp for camping trips, so I was very reluctant to accept. Eventually, one of the assistants/coordinators told me that I could simply create my lamp during the class, and they could ship me the rechargeable lighting element later. I was totally fine with that arrangement. I wanted so much to like the class, but to be honest, there was very little actual instruction. Essentially, I paid to go to a facility (a local hotel conference room) to work on the piece, following printed written instructions. The instructor basically reiterated the printed instructions. I think the main benefit was that the project was somewhat messy, and we didn't have to worry about cleanup vs doing it at home.Towards the end of the session, the class was informed that we would need to come back the next day to complete the second half of the project. The confirmation email that we received did not make it very clear that this was a 2-day workshop, and we were both surprised at this. Luckily, the kit we were given included materials to complete the project at home, so I guess it was fine. Art Masterclass reached out to me the next day, which was great. Initially, they told me they could send me the rechargeable lighting portion for the lamp I made, plus a whole new kit for a new lamp to make up for the inconvenience. I was very happy with that arrangement. However, after confirming my shipping address and specifying the color of the new rechargeable camping lamp kit, they clarified that they would only be sending one lighting element. So, at the end of the day, I will only have one working lamp. I guess that's fine, but I was surprised they were not clear on that from the beginning. I completed the work on my lamp at home, and I'm looking forward to having a finished piece. But I'm surprised that I seemed to run into issues at every level of the process, especially given the cost of the class.

ANYONE CAN COME and join in on the fun, as the facilitators guide you step by step. ALWAYS demonstrating for you, while having you refer to directions that come with every lantern. Allowing individuals like myself with not Great hands to work at my own pace, therefore actually able to relax and enjoy it. They were so knowledgeable, willing to help and enthusiastic about everyone’s individual Lanterns. They were also very personable and happy to put together take home packages 📦 for those of us so excited to make another before they are back in town.
I didn’t know what to expect truly when coming into this experience, but your instructor is incredible, helpful, made the class laugh as well. Definitely recommend others to give it a try. However, your snacks are barely that you could at least provide people a full cup of tea versus a mouth wash cup size, like come on.
The staff were nice and helpful. Quality of the products were excellent! Had a great time and made some new friends. Amazing experience.
Fun activity to do with friends and family. All the materials required were available and help was provided whenever we had any questions.
Amazing experience! This location is easy to find and to access. The building is large, spacious and clean. The Art Masters Class instructor was great and very kind and patient. A great experience, can’t wait to go back again!
Great atmosphere with the music, surrounded by mosaic lamps for inspiration. Loved that we were served tea and Turkish delights. The project was fun to make and would do it again.
I would like to order candle glass alone without a kit but it is not available. That can prevent me from ordering more in the future. Beside this, service was quick and effective for a missing item in one of my two orders.
Our host was fantastic! Very personable and informative. She was helpful and enthusiastic. We had a wonderful time and felt that making the lamps was manageable.
Everything was great! They gave clear instructions and complimented all our creations! With having a group of 8, we all had a great time. My only constructive criticism would be, we needed almost a half hour more. It took some of us a little longer to decide on the art and colours we wanted to choose so we still had our beading to do at home. All in all though we all had a lovely time!
It was a lot of fun meeting new people, and trying to be very creative with the designs. The hostess was very friendly. She did a great job. We definitely do it again.
There was a small mix up with some items not received, and other items over received. I sent an email to CS and the missing items were sent to me with no extra charge. All items in order where good quality and worked as expected.
