As an Artist
As an Artist, I recently contacted Spotify since my distributor have not reported to me since November when I released any royalties from Spotify! However on the Spotify for artist I see the number being reported! So contacted Spotify just to know why the number on the Spotify artist and the artist public page don’t match!and was informed that there are potentially artificial streaming! Okay so I know my distributior which I pay to be distributed gets a monthly report so I ask them kindly to provide me with the same reports and was given the run around by REM on 03/03/26 for an hours! So how I am paying for studio for my music, paying for a distributor that suppose to get a cut on my income and I am a not entitled to get the real number myself? So unless I am stupid there is something really fishy going on at Spotify and how they conduct business! When they living off us artists, creators! So finally ask to get the legal department info and this agent was also giving me the run around to get these info so I am gonna get a lawyer and have him get these report for! So the guy I pay to send you my music can get these report number but me the creator , artist I am not! Well definitely court gonna have to decide that one meanwhile strongly recommend artist to focus their effort on marketing Apple streaming which are pretty straight forward! Spotify customer service suck as well as their business practices! Gemini DC check me out dope RNB, HipHop!

They don't have a customer service
They don't have a customer service. Or at least it seems non existent. Also I was also a victim of the dreaded artificial streming bot on one song. Wuth Spotify you are guilty no matter what. There must be somone within Spotify who is playing this bot game as they seem oblivious to the real culprits, with all their log in security codes etc. It seems a way that greedy Spotify can hammer the little artist. It is so hard to open an artists Spotify account as you cannot create one until you have already released a song. If someone of the same name exists, (which is very frequent with multiple same names) then you get put on someone else's profile. I once spent over two hours on their chat about an artist profile that has this problem and got absolutely nowhere. I had some other artist contact me on my youtube page angry that my song/songs were on his profile and that was the reason of the call. What a complete shambles. You can see why major artists like Taylor Swift have left them. Only a matter of time before another streaming platform will replace them with a fairer outcome. They are on borrowed time. I'm on many platforms and it is only Spotify who seems to have this issue. Strange that!!

I really dont know what bad soul is…
I really dont know what bad soul is ruling spotify. Spotify lives from music creators, in the same time treating them as their slaves. In this year 2025, I earned minus 26 dollars with 14 Albums on Spotify. Can anybody believe that they took through my distribution 30 dollars from my youtube royalties, as my earnings were only 4 dollars on spotify. Because of non proved artificial penalty.

Music pulled from Spotify, charged a fee
CD Baby pulled my debut EP from Spotify after detecting "irregular" streaming in 1 of the 4 songs on the EP. Someone (not me!) had placed one of my songs on a playlist that had bots streaming it. Instead of going after the playlister or the bots (which would be very easy to do from a technical standpoint), Spotify and CD Baby are colluding against independent artists so they don't have to pay them royalties. You can read about this occurring all over Reddit to many indie artists. On top of removing an EP that I had paid to distribute, CD Baby is now also trying to withhold $11.70 for the 600 streams that occurred on the bot playlist. The funny thing is, we all know that Spotify and CD Baby do not pay out anywhere near $11.70 for 600 streams. You would earn maybe $2 from 600 streams and then CD Baby takes a cut. So why would they withhold more money than they pay out for the equivalent amount of streams? They never paid out those streams to begin with! Everything about this is shady. I'm sure they are counting down the days to AI music replacing all of us so that they don't have to pay out any royalties at all.

I attended a Spotify Advertising…
I attended a Spotify Advertising meeting today, and I can say with conviction that they are trying to improve their marketing campaigns for their Artist. And I wouldn't want to be anywhere else to post, market, and stream my music but this platform here!Sincerely:Artist/Producer:Wa'Dell Jones

Scamming artists
Spotify as a product is a scam and their customer service via Spotify for Artists is even worse.

SPOTIFY CAN NOT DO A BASIC SHUFFLE FEATURE
After all this time using Spotify. Couldn't understand WHY I was hearing all the same tracks over and over EVEN though I've thousands of songs in my library at hundreds of hours of total play time. Thought I'd contact Spotify and find out. Turns out they CAN NOT even do a BASIC feature like shuffle each and every song in your library. They can only generate a "queue" and play a sample of your tracks up to 50 on shuffle at any one time. I literally laughed in disgust. Ended the chat and as a lifelong Android and Samsung man have now found myself utilising Apple Music simply for this basic feature!!! Ridiculous. Used Android Soundiiz via Apples Songshift to seamlessly transfer my ENTIRE array of songs and custom playlists AWAY from Spotify over to Apple Music. I guess a) Can now shuffle every song and entire library and b) utilise Dolby Atmos with Spatial Sound at Hi-Res Lossless so thanks Apple I guess you win this round.

Spotify helps scammers and bandits and destroys artists
I am very disappointed that Spotify has created rules that help scammers, bandits and unscrupulous artists to destroy releases and even entire Spotify accounts. Scammers and bandits are actually extorting money from honest artists, blackmailing us by saying that they can very easily destroy our releases and even Spotify accounts and you help them do this. You delete releases and artist accounts when you find unscrupulous plays, although the artist has nothing to do with it. Some time ago, such a scammer wrote to me and offered to pay him money so that he would not touch my songs on Spotify and not carry out unscrupulous plays of my songs. Of course, I did not cooperate with this scammer, because I believed that Spotify is an honest business and understands the problems, helps to solve them, and does not blame artists for things they have nothing to do with. After that, the scammer started actively conducting unfair listening of my songs using bots. For this, you punished my distributor, the distributor removed my songs from Spotify. Thus, it turns out that honest artists cannot survive on Spotify. Your rules benefit scammers and bandits, not honest artists. We have no way to defend ourselves against the arbitrariness of scammers and bandits, because Spotify helps them, not artists.

I like the platform and good service
I like Spotify's artist platform. To know the data of streams, countries, and others.I would like there to be a tab to write your website and other social networks. What I would like it to go is the choice of a lower minimum amount for Showcase campaigns, ex: $30-40US, because not everyone has $100US by being a beginner in the artistic field. The thing to keep are the agents, when you need help for anything, they are there, professional and listening in case of a problem.Like I had today, with artificial streams that I have never had and that I have never paid for this kind of advertising that are false to pretend to be popular, through a dispute with DistroKid.Me, advertising is only with Spotify.Thank you for the new ''Discovery Mode'' trick.Let me know about the price change for Showcase and beginner artists will be much more there. Thanks
Andy
Still Learning Spotify
I love Spotify. It's been a steep learning curve, for example, I did not know they had a free pitching service. I also didn't know about the helpful tutorials. I still am learning how to use the site and its campaigns. I did notice that they reward consistency. W/ Spotify it is not a one and done. My sister is an artist and I manage her account. I've seen her monthly listeners grow exponentially and then fall. You have to put out new music on a consistent basis to keep the audience engaged especially when you are a new artist. Again, I will probably update this review as I start to use more of their tools, but so, far I think it's a solid platform for music discovery. I just wish they had more audience building tools for artists that are new to building a sustainable career.

Accused me of using fake streams and or…
Accused me of using fake streams and or a promotional service to get more plays because i asked why they removed some of my stream numbers after hitting over 1k. All absolutely false. I have never and would never pay for something so stupid. I release all of my own music so i would know. When i did a chat with their "support" team, the lady got really snippy, then just said" nothing more i can tell you other than you must have gotten it on a fake playlist." and closed the chat. You know what's funny? The only playlist I've ever been on is SPOTIFYS actual playlist after pitching my song to SPOTIFY! LOL So i guess they are telling me their own playlists are fake? Bunch of MORONS. No support whatsoever and they wont even look into an obvious mistake on their end. These people are a JOKE. Do better Spotify, I know you have the money ( our money)

Trying to have an artist profile is a…
Trying to have an artist profile is a nightmare!!! I release songs under different artists names and they are all session singers who made the recordings for me. The problem sometimes is that and artist's real name which I use is the same as another artist sometimes which is sometimes likely to happen. What Spotify do is attach the song to another artist's profile, which has happened 3 times so far with different artists. I had one called Luke Diamond, and unfortunately there is another artist of the same name and Spotify lumped the songs on to that other artist's profile. The other artist kicked off about it and eventually Spotify turned my Luke Diamond songs into orphans which just float around Spotify without a home. But Spotify won't let me claim the songs and make an artist profile although I own the songs and am the writer and the record company. I had another song by Peter Allen, and unfortunately there is another artist by the same name, and Spotify attached my song to that other artist profile (he died in 1992) and I spent almost 2 hours on the Spotify chat trying to move it to another profile and ended up nowhere, and my song is still attached to the wrong profile. I have a Spotify account of my own and have just tried to get that verified so I can get my own 3 orphan songs in the right place, mainly so I can see the stats. I don't hold out any hope as Spotify want links to a website. How many small time artists actually have a website? I've given them my youtube site URL and will see where that goes. I also have another song attached to a wrong profile for Catalina, and mine is a female singer. The other profile is that of a male group, and guess what? there is another artist of the same name too! So that one profile has got 3 different artists and none of them have a home. What a shambles. Spotify need to listen to what is being said, as without the artists, there is no Spotify, and in any case, Apple pay 10 times what Spotify do and are more co-operative in sorting out any issues and putting it right.

Great support!
My music has been on Spotify for some years but I have never had to contact them. Yesterday I needed info and sent an email to support. I was pleasantly surprised to get a prompt response because it was on a Saturday. Jeff sent a very friendly response pointing me in the right direction where I found a VERY SMART BOT so I did not end up in the usual loop. The bot connected me to the friendly and competent Mika. Thank you Spotify. Thank you Jeff. Thank you Mika.

Spotify keeps taking down our music
Spotify keeps taking down our music, claiming that we hired outside people to stream our music. NOT THE CASE! Twice this has happened. The second time through I followed their exact advice, I made sure to check that our music wasn't being put on fake playlists, checked this daily. But these A holes still took down our music. Highly recommend NOT using Spotify. They falsely accuse bands of illegal actions when we haven't done any of this crap. Worst music app ever!

They have no clue whatsoever
They have no clue whatsoever, telling things that are not true and just copy and paste the same answers over and over again and then close the chat. I don't understand how those people are even allowed to work for a company like Spotify. Absolutely unblievable.

Bad experience with Spotify as an independent artist
Bad experience It is funny how streams pup up on artist account and Spotify will come up with claim of fraudulent act (artificially inflated streams”,this is my experience with them and it is totally unacceptable because it is an erroneous allegation.this same allegation by Spotify made my distribution company banned my account..if they are hell bent on tracking down artificial streams then they should be up and doing with it not punishing poor and innocent artist who knows nothing about it…it is better they fix this before it becomes a problem that is unsolvable

As a relatively new artist to the…
As a relatively new artist to the Spotify world I have been very surprised to discover that it seems Spotify is not really on the side of the artists. I was informed that some of my streams on a certain track were being excluded as they appeared to come from artificial streams. As an artist I need to know which playlists Spotify suspects so I can investigate and protect myself in the future. The help app was anything but. The call has been ended twice even though I feel I am asking a pretty simple question. The streams have been removed but none of the playlists the song was on have been taken down. It's all been a slightly bewildering experience of evasiveness and gentle threatening. It's sad as an artist not to feel at all supported.
