AdeptLR Algorithm/Data Observations

First, to preface, I am approaching this from my perspective as a tutor, not as a student (I can't compare platforms from a student perspective; I only used one.) I suspect that a platform's performance for a tutor applies to students, but one should judge that for themselves. I have a little over one year of tutoring the LSAT to students, working with a variety of platforms. I have no experience in data science, statistics, or algorithms.Data-wise, for my purposes, Adept’s data and presentation are better than other leading platforms. I have two main reasons for believing this. The data on “average time” per question type is invaluable; tutoring students using platforms without this is rather frustrating. The main barrier to doing well on the LSAT for many people is time, and platforms that only provide data on accuracy by question type are markedly inferior. If John has ~80% accuracy on level 3 strengthen and flaw questions but tends to spend twice the amount of time on flaw questions, it should go without saying that such is crucial information. Having to parse this out can be a pain with students who meet less frequently, amidst all the other variables I am trying to analyze. Platforms lacking this feature result in a much greater time commitment on my end to achieve anything remotely close to the same level of understanding of the student's strengths/weaknesses.This then takes me longer to properly revise the timeline in the transition towards test day, regarding the evolving ratio of drills: timed sections: full PTs. Anecdotally, perfecting that transition plays a big role in maximizing students' scores, especially with a deadline. This is much more difficult without question-type timing data.My second point, which is lesser but still relevant, refers to the presentation of the data. I urge everyone to decide for themselves, but I would be surprised to see dissent regarding how data on adept is easy to take in and quickly note. It is the correct degree of thoroughness (question type, what I refer to as sample size, accuracy, and average time). Certain other platforms' UI can be a headache... why the shapes? Please just convey the basics in the simplest manner! As to the algorithm, there are a few advantages that I have noticed compared to other similar platforms. To be concise, their adaptive algorithm is actually good. I will recommend it to students—something I am very hesitant to do—I prefer not to adopt responsibility for something I don’t have control over. It is obviously not perfect, and I prefer engineering drills myself to test specific concepts. This is platform-dependent, but from my perspective, most “AI” drilling ishard to distinguish from a random question generator, beyond question types. I generally do not notice any consistent patterns in the question selection that are beneficial to the students, whereas I can notice such with Adept. To be clear, I will generally recommend getting a deep enough understanding of the exam to understand best drilling practices on their own. However, if one is a. Newer to studying or b. Does not have the time to do so or c. Is not in a place to pay someone else to do so, the adaptive algorithm is probably the best alternative. I wish I remotely understood how algorithms worked so I could attempt something of an explanation, but the best I can do is share my observations. Each LSAT question involves different concepts or variables. For example, some have “part vs whole” involved, some have an intermediate conclusion, some involve percentages, etc. With Adept, on average, I have seen students who make mistakes with certain concepts get assigned questions that touch on those concepts more consistently than other platforms. This is the basis on which I conclude the algorithm is better. Always be skeptical of any one person’s observation; please experiment with different platforms and come to your own conclusions.

Studying felt simpler!

There's a host of resources for LSAT students, which often times creates a barrier for students starting their journey. AdeptLR, however, takes a no-frills approach. In my experience, its a very complex tool designed to make studying simple; Drill easier questions, review, drill harder question, and review!I can admit its not going to hold your hand, but if you're willing to keep reviewing, you'll find yourself scoring better and better as the drilling tool adapts.

Effective and affordable!

If you’re looking for an LSAT prep service to drill and work on your weaknesses, this is a fantastic option. One of my favorite features is how both the LR and RC sections break down exactly which question types you’re doing good at and which ones you need to improve on. The feature that shows the percentage of questions you’ve been getting correct for each question type is a total game-changer. I often found myself focusing on specific types of questions to boost my overall average, and it really helped me make steady progress.I also really appreciated how the service let me drill easier and harder questions as needed. The AI component was amazing—it adapted to my learning style and adjusted the difficulty of questions over time, so I was always challenged but never overwhelmed. Also not directly related to the learning but I loved the font they used! It made the whole experience feel less intimidating, which is always a plus when studying for something as stressful as the LSAT.

I used AdeptLR for four months as a last resource prior to my first LSAT. I initially chose AdeptLR for its inexpensive cost and AI drilling. I throughly enjoyed the experience of drilling and did find that I was completing questions with elements that I found difficult. I especially enjoyed the reading comprehension feature as it was an easy way to practice reading comprehension and to select the type of passage and difficulty. I would def recommend AdeptLR before choosing any of the more expensive platforms.

Great For Drilling

Using AdeptLR was very useful for my LSAT prep. I felt stuck at one point in my studies where I did not find myself improving, and was not sure where to go from there. I decided to try AdeptLR and very quickly started noticing improvements in my score but most importantly in my understanding. One feature I found particularly helpful was being able to drill specific question types, so I could therefore focus on my weaknesses. With that being said, I highly recommend AdeptLR!

AdeptLR is a valuable supplement for LSAT prep

AdeptLR is simple, straightforward, and easy to use. A lot of other resources can get overwhelming because of everything they offer (lessons, videos, forums). That’s why I like AdeptLR. It’s a great way to ease into a study session and a great way to warm up before taking a practice test. As someone with ADHD, AdeptLR was exactly what I was looking for when it came to drilling and taking practice tests. It simply provides you with the questions you want to work on and if you choose, it’ll show you the correct answer after each question. After learning a new skill or concept on another LSAT resource, I’m able to drill practice problems on AdeptLR and actually focus. To me, AdeptLR is valuable because it strips away the “background noise” that’s included in every other study resource, thus eliminating more chances of distractions.

I would recommend AdeptLR to anyone!

The program is extremely helpful for LR drilling, especially because LR is now 2/3 of the score! I would recommend it to anyone prepping for the LSAT, especially given the cheap price in comparison to the other programs out there. For the newer tests, there are explanations for almost every question. There’s also a note tab where you can put your own explanations as a sort of wrong answer journal.

If you’re serious about the LSAT, then use AdeptLR.

I highly recommend AdeptLR for those seeking a simple, customizable, and affordable solution for LSAT drilling. Its adaptive AI algorithm keeps me engaged by constantly challenging me with questions that are just a touch beyond my comfort zone. By pushing me to tackle harder questions I might have otherwise avoided, AdeptLR has been instrumental to breaking out of my plateau. While some may not like that they have to find their own explanations online, AdeptLR has actually done me a favor. I forced myself to figure out why the answer I chose is wrong and why I made the mistake of choosing such an answer. In the end, all that effort rewards you with a deeper comprehension of the material!

Excellent tool for improving LSAT performace…

Excellent tool for improving LSAT performance. Automatically imports your data from LawHub, allowing you to draw insights from a significant sample of your results right from the jump, as well as providing an easy interface for drilling questions you haven't tackled yet. The analytics let you know exactly where you need to improve, and the platform allows you to narrow your focus to just those areas.

Cost-Effective LSAT Prep

AdeptLR is an excellent LSAT preparation tool for students looking to use drilling to refine areas of weakness in Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. As someone who used the Powerscore books to study LR and RC curriculum, I was looking for an online tool to provide me with drilling opportunities and analytics. Since I am not in need of LSAT curriculum, this was the most cost-effective solution for me compared to other online prep services. I reached out to the AdeptLR team with the questions I had and got personalized help that same day! As an AdeptLR user, I am building confidence heading towards my LSAT test date in about 5 months by practicing questions everyday, reviewing the answers I chose incorrectly, and focusing on my areas of weakness. I am currently PTing in the 170s and am using AdeptLR for extra practice between PTs so that I can be prepared to earn the highest score that I can on test day!

Helpful Drilling Tool

This is what you need to get better at the LSAT. The AdeptLR platform lets you get super granular into your weakest sections and question types. I also appreciate the ability to filter by difficulty level. Drilling the hardest Sufficient & Necessary Assumption questions is how I finally broke through a plateau and consistently went -0 in Qs 20-26. It was also helpful for LG and RC. The interface is very clean and retains all the features from the actually LSAC interface that you see on test day. The easy-to-access question explanations were also super helpful.
