Took1 year insurance from them for over £300, lasted for a month as property was sold. When I cancelled they refunded only £150!! When I emailed them back to say I'm not happy with amount of fees they took, they never replied.
Being a landlord for over 20 years and with hundreds of tenants and numerous blocks to look after i have used most major insurance companies so think am well judged to compare them . i never really use smaller ones but on a block this time thought try abacus as cheaper and if proved to be good would switch other blocks to them and recommend to my other landlords as we have group chats .. claims i know are varied and each one not the same as the last so cant compare .what i am talking about is once the assessor has been and agreed the amount to the insurer . over the years i find can be couple days max 7-10 usually definitely not over 2 weeks. with abacus over a MONTH then chased and another 2 weeks passed nothing and no contact about any delay ! luckily i had money to pay the builder direct as why should they have to wait they have bills to pay - but what if you didnt have the money yourself and had the stress of builder chasing you for the money ??? i know how stressed say my mother would be if chased for money - so THINK hard - its worth paying bit more to get a more reliable insurer ! i certainly will never touch these again
