Vimeo wiped all my videos
I have been subscribed to Vimeo for over 15 years, paying an ever increasing yearly subscription. This year the subscription had elapsed. Instead of contacting me they just wiped out most of my videos I had in the library without warning. Shocking treatment of a consistent customer. On top of that the playback is lousy, uploading issues etc. Just an awful company who you can't rely on. Avoid.

An awful experience
Designed by window lickers with bags over their heads and wearing boxing gloves. Without doubt the worst user experience - both as a Vimeo subscriber for many years and as someone visiting the site - that I have come across in years. No way to get support. Infrastructure is increasingly unreliable. And now they've been bought out by a venture capital firm whose first job was to get rid of all the Vimeo staff. It ain't going to get better, is it?

Dumbest streaming site out there
They even deleted the links to a creators site on vimeo on their videos. The site is a design from hell...

I run an online course on WordPress
I run an online course on WordPress, and using Vimeo has been a great decision for me.Because the videos are hosted on Vimeo, my website stays light, fast, and not overloaded, which is very important when running an educational platform. The player is clean, reliable, and very comfortable for students to use, and the privacy controls work exactly as I need them to. From my side as a course creator, everything is smooth and intuitive.Overall, it’s a very comfortable platform to work with, and I genuinely enjoy using Vimeo for my courses.

Vimeo’s customer service is an absolute nightmare
Vimeo’s customer service is an absolute nightmare. 1 star is too generous. I’ve submitted three separate tickets and received not a single response—zero, nada, nothing. There’s no phone number, no live support, no human to talk to. It’s like paying for a premium service that literally doesn’t exist. If you value your time, money, or sanity, stay far away from Vimeo. Their support is a joke, and they clearly don’t care about customers at all. Honestly, it’s infuriating and pathetic.

incredibly frustrating playback experience
I paid for courses that I am struggling to complete because the recordings are hosted on vimeo. playback from embeds has degraded to the point where the videos are essentially unplayable. I am reading they have been acquired by private equity but these issues started long before that. what a shame, it was previously one of the best video hosts.

AN AWFUL SERVICE FROM THESE COWBOYS
AN AWFUL SERVICE FROM THESE COWBOYS. I run a video production business and have used Vimeo as a loyal paid customer for over 15 years. They used to have great customer service when issues occurred. They've now totally gone downhill. I've been locked out of my paid account for over a week and this so called tech company can't even get their servers to send an auto password reset email...despite asking for it on their site several times the password reset email never arrives!! They are fobbing me off on social media chat and to get through to their help centre you have to be logged in. HOW CAN I LOGIN TO GET HELP IF I NEED HELP LOGGING IN FFS! I see they have a terrible rating now on Trustpilot. I'm shocked at how far this company have fallen and will be recouping my subscription fee with my bank and swithching to one of their competitors.

Vimeo became absurd
Vimeo became more and more absurd through the years.I was using it to upload a video from time to time and collect inspiration from people who I know are amazing directors and storytellers. Those stories can`t be found anymore. This was taken away. The latest drop in the bucket is the ID requirments. It`s absurd, I will forget they ever existed.

FRAUD! Credit Card abuse.
Today I was alerted to FRAUD on my Vimeo.com Account. My Credit Card was used for over 12 transactions for Gaming Streams totaling over $11,000 CDN. This is unacceptable. Lack of Customer Support. Bank is doing a FRAUD investigation, but this should not have happened on this Site. New Owners have poor Security follow up. Lack of Contact info for serious Crime on Site. AI Chat is useless in emergencies. Waiting for reply from Vimeo.com via Ticket process. I have had a Account for 10 years without issue, in the past. Alison MacLean Documentarian

Long time Vimeo and overall, I'm happy, with some minor issues.
I've been with Vimeo for years. The platform is perfect for my needs as an event videographer, and for the most part, everything has worked smoothly. I would take a half a star off if I could, though, as nothing is perfect. They like to keep me on my toes by moving and altering features around on the interface, which sometimes can be frustrating to find the options I need. Also, they seemingly removed an important and useful feature. They used to give you the option to link your video to a separate "download page", so my client only sees the video thumbnail, and a download dropdown button for different files sizes. I did get on a live chat quickly with Vimeo, and they confirmed it was removed. The representative was helpful. Why would they do that? I will have to configure a workaround now, but it's not the end of the world. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service.

Vimeo is fine but flawed
Vimeo is fine, but seems abit dated these days. One thing is that the site UI is a little bit wack honestly. The main page is super difficult to organize videos. Same with showcases. SO clunky.

Vimeo is the oldest, but also most elite of all the online video platforms.
Vimeo is one of the oldest, but also most elite of online video platforms. It hosts and attracts the best of the best. Filmmakers, Documentarians, Journalists, Business Leaders and even Experimental Video Artists. In 2026, we're knee deep in the age of digitization, mass media, and information. And lately, the internet portrays a hyper sensationalized view of the world. Vimeo feels like a return to reality. A place to find inspiration, community and incredible true stories - curated by their excellent categories and, of course, their revered Staff Picks. Whenever I'm feeling low or lacking an idea, I come to Vimeo to be lifted up.

They keep adding updates that butcher…
They keep adding updates that butcher showcases and other important video features constantly. I can't tell you the last time an update did something good. Horrible website that's getting worse and worse.
