If only it lived up to its promise

After the demise of Skypes paid service, I went searching for an alternative non-business service. I make regular personal calls to a couple of numbers in US from the UK, so wanted something basic. Well my first issue was with the setup. I created an account on my laptop paid for the first month, and all seemed fine. However when I downloaded the Android app, the app would not recognise my login details. Took a couple of days of changing passwords before it finally allowed me to log in. Now for the call issues: to begin with it drops constantly, and the limited support pages basically blame my internet connection, I have a very good internet connection, furthermore I have tried the service on several other friends internet connection and have the same issue.Now the latest problem is, if I try to make a call on a morning, (UK GMT) Vibe out simply sits there with a ringing tone, eventually ending with the app disconnecting and informing me that the other person was not available. This is nonsense because I have on multiple occasion been chatting on Whats-app via mobile data on my cell so can hear myself if their phone is ringing, and its simply not. Now on an evening, (UK GMT) it sometime works as advertised, but if you become quite for just an instant it disconnects. I had looked at the pro service, however, after my experience with the basic, I'm not willing to waist money trying it out.

⭐☆☆☆☆I am extremely disappointed with Viber and the lack of effective customer support.After switching to a new device, I tried to restore my data on the platform, but the process turned out to be nearly impossible. Despite multiple attempts to contact support, I did not receive any meaningful assistance.In the end, my data was lost without a clear explanation and without proper support from their side.For a platform with so many users, this level of data handling and customer care is unacceptable.I would not recommend using Viber.

Not working as advertised

The app fails repeatedly to verify my phone number. It says I will receive a call but no call comes through. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times with the same result. Then I tried a different phone with a different provider. This time I did recieve a call but the verification was rejected. (Yes, I did make sure I entered the correct phone numbers and digits every time.)After giving it a 1 star review on Google I received a response from Viber telling me to click a link and enter my issues there. I did, and I received an email telling me that I would receive an SMS. No SMS was received.I then tried Yolla which uses exactly the same verification procedure. That worked on the first try.

Aweful company and customer service…

Aweful company and customer service everytime when i reach them they dont reply or when they do the say we have resolved your issue. now i have been blocked for no reason cant use Viber Out i have paid for credit. aweful company and customer service team.

I paid for a Viber subscription almost a year ago and I have never been able to use it, yet they continue to charge me every single month.Order ID: 2157900367837581310The system allowed me to register and PAY without any login. The number I used is a VOIP number from Sonetel, which I rely on while travelling because I do not have a normal mobile network. Payment was accepted immediately.After paying, I tried to log in to actually use the service. Then suddenly the system said the same number was INVALID for login. So the number was good enough to take my money, but not good enough to access the account.It gets worse:You can ONLY cancel the subscription inside the dashboard.But I CANNOT enter the dashboard.So I am trapped in a loop where money is taken every month for a service I have NEVER been able to use.I have contacted Viber many times via email, social media, and support channels. I have received ZERO responses. No help, no explanation, no human contact at all.This is completely unacceptable.What I demand immediately:Cancel this subscription nowRefund all payments takenWritten confirmation that no more money will be chargedUntil this is resolved I strongly advise people NOT to subscribe to this service. If something goes wrong, you may have no way to reach support or cancel, just like me.I hope Viber finally responds here and takes this offline to solve it properly.

Unable to active and aweful support

I’ve never been able to activate Viber because I never receive the activation call or OTP. I tried again six months later with the same result. Support ignored my actual questions and kept sending copy-paste instructions to reinstall the app and resend screenshots I had already provided. They never checked whether their system even tried to call my number or if using a Swedish number in Bulgaria was the issue. I moved my customers to WhatsApp instead. Viber Support Ticket #13680890In the response from Viber you can clearly tell that they did not actually read what I wrote once again, considering that I had already added the ticket number (that you see above). Hello Felix, thanks for reaching out! Kindly provide your support ticket number from the email so we can look into it and expedite the process.

Viber it’s complete rubbish

Viber it’s complete rubbish. I use it to call abroad or travelling abroad to call landline numbers like consulates and utility companies. It’s totally useless as it cuts out after about 9 rings. Anyone who has the least bit of experience with Utility companies or government departments knows that you have to hold the call a lot longer than 9 rings to get through to somebody. Further I don’t understand why anyone would want to use Viber to reach mobile phones with apps like WhatsApp. Total waste of money.

Bad connection

I can't even call my friends. They are in the same city as me but I can't even answer calls and also he can't answer my calls. Most of the time my messages don't even go through including calls. Almost always, a few minutes into the call, my voice becomes delayed. Questions I said 10 minutes ago was answered 10 minutes late by my friend. And he only answered me 10 minutes after I said it. It also crashes all the time.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM VIBER

STAY FAR AWAY FROM VIBER. THEY ARE TOTAL SCAMMERS. THEY HAVE CHARGED MY DEBIT CARD 5 TIMES NOW AND GAVE ME ZERO ACCESS TO MAKING ANY TYPE OF CALLS. I have contacted customer support many times and the customer support for Viber tells me every time they have no access to change accounts. If Viber has no access to change their own client account accounts, then who the hell does? i HAVE NOW FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE CYBER FRAUD UNIT IN THAILAND. In a few days our attorney witll file a class action lawsuit. they refuse to cancel my worthless account that we can not even use. And they refuse to refund the money they have stolen from us. Viber is pure trash

Service does not work and unable to cancel

I bought the trial package to test the service as Rakuten is a legitimate company in Japan. However, I have not been able to login to the account and the company prevents me from canceling the subscription! I have contacted customer support several times and gets ignored. Money still getting charged on my card, now I have to consider taking legal action. VERY BAD! Rakuten management, if you see this message fix this issue asap or your company will get blacklisted by customers!

Bought a package

Bought a package. Didn’t added the credit into my account. Couldn’t make the phone calls on Xmas day to family abroad who doesn’t have smart phones. Contacted customer service but had been ignored! AVOID IT

Poor service and accountability

I attempted to cancel my Viber subscription during the trial period but was unable to do so through the app because I could not complete account registration.I contacted customer support before the renewal, clearly asking for the subscription to be cancelled. Instead of cancelling, I received repeated automated template responses telling me they had “resent the activation text”, despite the fact that I was explicitly asking to cancel, not activate the account.I am now charged for a second month.I have now contacted support three times, received no meaningful human response, and have been told to wait “up to 48 hours” while charges continue. At no point has my cancellation request been actioned.This experience feels intentionally obstructive:-Cancellation cannot be completed if registration fails-Support ignores cancellation requests and sends irrelevant automated repliesCharges continue regardlessTLDR: I would strongly caution anyone against starting a trial unless you are prepared to dispute charges through your app store or bank.
