Greedy company, sides with fraud
They are everywhere so they can be hard to avoid, but be careful. If the company they are charging you for is legit, you may have no problems. However if the company is sketchy, and say charging you for services or subscriptions you did not ask for, Stripe will keep charging you, offering only long winded blah-blah fluff explanations about how they will look into it and start a review. While you wait for months they will continue to charge you on behalf of whatever fraudulent company you unfortunately got involved with. In the end they operate on the principle of greed, and side with the ones giving them money.

They hold your funds for no clear reason, especially during Q4. Their system can suddenly shut down your store, and you’re left with no proper explanation.They tell you that you’ll be refunded within 3 months, then after 3 months they delay again saying “next month” over and over. It feels like endless postponement.Even if your business model is fully compliant, transparent, and you ship real products with tracking, you can still face sudden holds.Extremely stressful experience for any business owner. I would strongly advise merchants to be cautious and always have a backup payment processor.

People hate on Stripe because they break the rules. It is super easy to stay safe, just fallow the rules, there is tons of info online, and even audit tools. If you are compliant - you are safe.

So They put a hold on my account and held ALL funds for 120 days as a precaution. (Thousands of dollars) I have never had a dispute or charge back so I see this as being totally unnecessary and unacceptable. I find their fees to be the highest in the industry also.I would never recommend this company, as I still haven't received money..

This has been an extremely poor customer support experience, paired with a confusing and frustrating user interface that does not help merchants resolve issues efficiently. As a merchant, there is no clear path to identify where to raise concerns or how to get the required request or ticket ID.There is no accessible email channel, and the AI support flow explicitly states that complex issues cannot be handled, yet there is no alternative escalation route to a human agent. It effectively leaves merchants to troubleshoot alone.My business is already registered, but when it comes to integration, there is no structured technical support, no clear documentation, and no practical guidance for either minor issues or more complex implementation challenges. Although integration with Lovable is mentioned, there is no end to end process that explains how it should be done properly.To make matters worse, submitting a support request through the form repeatedly results in a system error. Then, when trying to seek help through Discord, the team asks for a request ID, but there is no clear place to find or retrieve that request ID in the first place.Overall, they urgently need a serious revamp of their customer experience, support pathways, and technical onboarding journey.

Less than 24 hours after signing up, I received multiple emails (the first accusing me of "agreement violation") about not having content/using the word "donation" instead of "tip" (the email does not even tell you what you violated).This is despite Stripe partnering up with a company that allows you to connect with them as a payment platform, but doesn't ensure that that company requires you to provide the information Stripe needs. After ensuring all the information they asked for was correctly filled out, I completed the first form, only to receive a second notice email in less than 2 hours.I was shocked to see Stripe as a company demonstrating this falsely accusatory behavior. I have heard bad things about them in the past, and now I know why.2/5.

I transferred 50€ of my total credit to check if it was legit or not, before trying to transfer a larger amount, it never arrived.I contacted costumer service and they told me they'd have a look and then contact me to tell me what happened, even took my contact info, never received any news.And on top of everything, they take a pretty high comission from every payment you receive, never again.I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

After several failed payment attempts, Stripe no longer allows retrying the charge with the same card. I’m forced to create a new payment method — even if it’s the same card. This is so frustrating that I honestly wish the people who built this payment flow had to go through the same experience themselves every time they tried to pay for something.
