Avoid! Refunded via PayPal.
Ordered a Boxset as part of Black Friday deals. Wrote to them a week later as I’d heard nothing other than they’d taken the payment. No response. Next day I contacted PayPal and opened a claim and got a refund for the full £72 two days later. 10 days after initial purchase. Don’t recommend this retailer. If you are tempted to buy use PAYPAL.* UPDATE *Message from company after refund via PayPal saying the item should have arrived (implying it has been sent… yet no email saying item had been dispatched, tracking etc or response to my ‘Where’s my stuff’ enquiry) but since it hasn’t arrived and they have no more in stock that’s why they refunded me! Checked their website and the item is still available for dispatch! Shady!

Left in the dark
Really concerned reading these reviews. Order placed and money taken on 5 May. No further information. It is now the 18 May. I have emailed them twice; but no response. I know it is only two weeks, but I would have expected some form of update or a reply to my emails. I'm now a bit worried I won't receive what I have paid for.

I can only speak as I find. Ordered a box set 'Secret Army' - very good price and initially good communication. Then didn't here anything for four days so sent them an email. Didn't receive a reply and so began to get a little concerned particularly after reading negative reviews on here. However I received my DVDs today - 8 days after ordering so which probably means I haven't got much in the way of patience. Cellophane wrapped in a jiffy bag - no problems and will order again. I think the company would do itself a favour if it answered messages but in fairness perhaps Covid was a factor. I have had a good experience and say thank you. 29/04/2021

Simply Useless
Extremely dodgy company. Out of stock items fraudulently advertised as in stock on the website. No communication about when items will be back in stock once you have placed an order, leaving you to contact them if you want your money back. They also send monthly unsolicited marketing materials and continue to do so despite requests for them to stop. They have also sent repeated demands for payment of an outstanding balance, even after admitting it was an error. I'm hoping this is due to incompetence rather than deliberate behaviour.

Late Christmas present
My delivery finally arrived yesterday 4 weeks after placing my order. A Christmas present in mid January just is not the same. Lesson learned-not to order from this company again!!

Excellent service, great price
After reading the reviews i was slightly worried but was very surprised.I ordered a dvd , was dispatched on the 29th and arrived today!The communication was excellent throughout. Yes the delivery was slightly longer but the items are sent from guernsey so im guessing it will take a little longerVery good company and would def use them again

Brilliant service. Placed order on 21 December fully expecting it to take at least 10 days but it arrived this morning (24 Dec). Excellent comms from Caroline in Customer service and I will not hesitate to recommend and use this company again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE DISAPPOINTMENT.Ordered an Xmas gift on the 14th December and this company decided to inform me on the 17th December that the item was out of stock but they decided to do it by 2nd class letter!!! I received the letter on the 23rd December so now I have no Xmas gift for my friend plus I had to call them and be put on hold for 20 minutes to get a refund which I was informed will not be processed until after Christmas. Who sends a letter to keep customers informed? It’s 2020 and let me suggest a little thing called email. Will never use again and will inform everyone I know not to waste money using this company!

Not impressed with this company, they take your money when you think somethings in stock, then you fine out its not, there not honest, as you wait and wait, and then think i wont have the item for Xmas, so ask for a refund, they dont know what there doing, one says despatched one says, no i will refund, one says i have refunded it, and one says its been discontinued, so the chap below by review, was bang on, there not honest. And its not discontinued as Amazon had it. Waited and waited for the full 21 days for the item and refund. Finally after email after email, i got it. Would i use this company ever again. That’s a Big Fat NO

Slow, unhelpful and I'm not impressed
Ordered 1 CD and 1 DVD. I had an email 4days after purchasing items to say 1 of the items was being dispatched. 11 days later and I've still not received it. I wrote an email to ask where my items were to be told 2 days after sent email that they was sorry but the second item would be dispatched in 10 days and that I could arrange a refund. I wrote back immediately and have asked for refund. 2 days after that I still hadnt heard anything so I called them. After waiting 15minutes to get through I was told a refund couldn't be arranged as the second one had been dispatched that day! So now I'm still waiting for first item, goodness knows when either item will turn up. Customer service has been slow and unhelpful. If they didn't have the items in stock then why not let people know? I wouldn't use this company again.

I read all the negative reviews after placing an order.There was quite a delay (only a week but I had to have it asap to post as a Christmas gift) so I contacted customer service. The very next day I received reply, apologies, DVD not actually in stock but delivery expected within 10 days. I was offered a refund. In view of it being required asap I cancelled the order and sourced one elsewhere (slightly dearer but confirmed as available). The next day I received notification from Simplyhe that my cancelled order was actually dispatched! I informed them I no longer needed it. The result from Simplyhe was an apology,full immediate refund (I checked and it was there before I read their response!) and furthermore "please retain the DVD by way of an apology for the inconvenience".Come on, that's what I call good customer service.Full marks to Lewis and Jonathan for their speedy responses to my problem.

Firstly, Simply Home Entertainment is not a UK company. Although they run certain aspects of their business – customer services, taking orders, etc. - in the UK, they are, in fact, a Guernsey, Channel Islands registered Company, with their main warehousing and distribution centre in the Channel Islands. The Channel Islands are not in the UK, just a protectorate.Their advertising gives the impression that they are a UK distributer, such that customers’ reasonable expectations would be to receive goods in a matter of days, not weeks as is common with overseas suppliers. One has to look deep and hard into their website to discover from where they are actually dispatching goods.When receiving confirmation of an order being dispatched they do not state the expected date of delivery, no doubt to cover up the long delays. In my case it is several weeks and I still have not received my order.In my own experience, and that of so many reviews I have read, SimplyHE provides an appalling service and lack of customer care – the worst-of-the-worst.

Simply Home Entertainment are a UK firm supplying DVDs. Sounds great until there’s a problem and you request a refund. That’s when the problems start. I’m my case I paid for a DVD back in June of this year. The DVD couldn’t be supplied so a refund was offered. I’ve never received it despite 5 emails requesting it and promises made. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

DVD ordered 5 weeks ago - still not arrived.
Ordered a dvd on 5th Dec as a Christmas present. It’s 5 weeks later and it still hasn’t arrived. I wasn’t informed of any delays proactively and has to repeatedly contact them to chase it. I’ve given up and asked for my money back. Really poor service and communication.
