Awful service! Awful company. They scammed me out of my money. Never got my order they sent me a fake door picture with a package the door does jot belong to me not my home. Never answered emails never helped me. I lost $500. This is a scam company be aware and never shop. Clearly they have 1.8 stars says it all. (a) Slow & Robotic Support: I requested an address change within 4 hours of ordering, but it took support over 8 HOURS to reply (I waited the whole night). Instead of simply updating the address (which I provided), the agent asked me to save the address manually first. In fact, the address was ALREADY SAVED in my account as an alternative address! They could have checked beyond the default address actually. This has happened at least twice now (when my shipping address is within the US).(b) Unhelpful customer service/ Refusal to Help: Now they are telling me to contact UPS myself. I explained multiple times that I cannot contact UPS because the phone number on the label belongs to the recipient, not me, so I cannot pass the verification (to log into the account). Shopbop is ignoring my requests and keeps sending me copy-paste template responses.(c) Constant Shipping Errors:Within just one month (November 2025), they sent me the wrong items twice (the received items did not match the order).(d) Wasted Money on Duties:I ordered a silk skirt in size XS (the site said "last one left") but received a size XL. A month later, I reordered it, and they sent a size XL AGAIN. Instead of causing me to waste money on customs duties twice for nothing (I am an international customer), you should fix your internal processes so they actually run smoothly.If SHOPBOP treat a Gold Member this poorly, imagine how they treat new customers. Do not shop here.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. As an international customer, they refuse to provide the right export documents so that I may return some items to them. I am out over a thousand dollars and still trying to reach an actual human who can help me... (they continue to send me form letter/AI responses that are completely unhelpful). Avoid this retailer at all costs!

If you’re in Canada DO NOT order from here. They advertise free returns but do not refund duties and will not provide the documents needed to get them back. Out a lot of money after returning a pair of boots. Submitting the documentation to be denied and then told there is no guarantee that you get duties back. Terrible customer service will not be ordering again

Sent a used and dirty item over $300
Spent over $300 on a sale item - sweater (Citizens of Humanity sweater). Of course it sold out super fast so I was excited to receive my package. Upon receiving my package it was covered in blonde hair and the sweater had several strands of blonde hair on the item.Unacceptable to not check returns and items clearly used and still have the nerve to resell it and send it out to a customer in such condition. It’s disgusting and biohazard to send out items like this. First it’s hair what next? Am I going to get bugs in my next package? Feedback to Shopbop, have better quality assessments!!! Please stop sending used items out to customers! Now I have to pay dry cleaning fees at my own personal expense because I’m scared to even try or touch the item!

This experience does not deserve even a one-star rating.I have honestly never experienced this level of unprofessionalism from an online store.Suspending or disabling a Platinum / VIP account that has reached the highest tier, simply because you suspect that I might be a personal shopper or reselling, is completely unacceptable.You are an online retail platform. It is not your role nor your right to interfere in how or why a customer uses the products they legally purchase from you. Whether I buy for myself, my family, or others is none of your business.People around the world purchase from global brands and luxury boutiques in bulk every single day, and no one questions them or freezes their accounts without proof. On top of that, you do not even know whether I am reselling or buying for personal use — you are making assumptions.I have been a loyal customer for a long time, reached Platinum status through consistent purchases, and my payments have always been legitimate. This company definitely make money on selling items and keep the import tax while customers returns items, so, you are safe if you don't return items..otherwise, they will keep the import tax and ask you to get it back from you country of customs which is bullshit, they know they are stealing import tax, good luck guys, Shopbop just find a way to make extra money and tell you is free shipping free return to Canada, but steal import tax is the underlayer purpose.January 3, 2026 updated review to Shopbop, what kind of proof you need from Trustpilot? Fraudulent company, pockets prepaid taxes and has no accountability
Beware, this company is fraudulent. Despite being owned by Amazon, they attempt to fleece and scam customers out of money.I placed an order on 3rd December 2025. Shopbop had charged me for GST (sales tax) that is supposed to be prepaid to the courier.When I have received the tracking number, the courier had turned around to say that sales tax had not been paid and was making me liable.I had reached out to Shopbop requesting information on why I am liable for GST when I had prepaid it to Shopbop during the purchase.The customer service only gave me copy and paste answers, claiming that consumers are responsible for their own GST. This entirely contradicts their own FAQ and invoice amount.Their FAQ stated that GST is prepaid unless explicitly selected otherwise during checkout and my credit card statement showed a deducted balance which included GST charged to me by Shopbop.It is clear, that they are trying to pocket my prepaid GST. Beware of this fraud.

charged twice for same item
I’ve shopped using their app multiple times before but this will certainly be my last. I was double charged for an item and despite me providing proof and official documentation from my bank that they did in fact charge me twice all customer service had to say was that they only see one charge and the first was simply an authorization hold. I’ve had to speak to five different representatives at my bank, whom all confirmed that Shopbop did mistakenly claim both charges and that they aren’t holding any amount on their side. The back and forth between customer service has drained me to oblivion, unhelpful is an understatement, they’re extremely patronizing, and couldn’t bother to look into the issue further. At some point I was sent the same generic email twice, copy pasted word for word. Best part is they tried to double charge me for another order on the day of shipment but were unsuccessful because I didn’t have sufficient funds at the time.Now when the total amount is authorized, and set aside, when the time comes to settle it as an official charge (day of shipment) but there aren’t any funds, what exactly happens to the order? Obviously they wouldn’t ship it, because they need to claim the amount in order to do so, but no, apparently insufficient funds isn’t an issue when your merchant is shopbop, because in my situation, the order shipped without any issue, and your team confirmed that I was fully charged for it. The only reason that was possible is because the amount was already settled on the day I placed the order. Your system shows that the supposed “authorization hold” was actually claimed and settled immediately, not held.Despite that, your system still attempted to charge me again on the shipment date. If it truly had been an authorization hold, the order would not have shipped, and you would not see a successful settled amount on your side from the original date. your system settled the payment on day one, treated it as paid, shipped the order, and then still attempted a second settlement as if the first one hadn’t happened.I keep repeating myself because this is exactly the experience you’ll have when talking to their customer service employees. They don’t listen, they don’t address any of the points I raised or the official documentation provided to them, no they only know how to copy paste the same paragraph over and over.. I’m now waiting for my bank to settle this issue, because I’ve lost all hope dealing with Shopbop.

Avoid - just don’t bother!
Initially I was quite impressed - delivery was quicker than expected. I ordered 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair was great but the other had a pluck / tear in them. I contacted customer services and they confirmed that if I returned them, I would receive a full refund with no return shipping fee ($40) deducted from the refund if I used their approved carrier. I arranged the return through their website but surprise surprise, when I got the refund confirmation email I had been deducted $40.I have chased and chased for the $40 back which I shouldn’t have been charged and just get wishy washy responses about it being sent for review. I am doubtful I will get the money.AVOID! Update - a few hours after writing this review I had an email saying they have processed the refund. Let’s see if I actually get it, but it shouldn’t take a negative review to get something sorted that was promised in the first place. I don’t change my stance……avoid.

Absolute thieves - AVOID Refuse to refund price in full when items have been returned. How can there be a $1200 DIFFERENCE between what was charged & what is refunded. They claim import duties and GST fall under shipping costs and wont be refunded - but this still doesn't equate to $1200 ABOSLUTE THIEVES AND LIARS.

Absolutely awful experience with Shopbop. In my opinion, this company hides important return info and sticks customers - especially international ones - with a ridiculous return fee. I was shocked to learn it would cost $40 to send back a simple top, even though the checkout page made returns sound “easy” and "free" and never clearly warned me about the real cost.From my experience, their policies feel misleading, the customer service is unhelpful, and the return process is anything but easy. I personally will never shop with Shopbop again, and I’d strongly recommend others avoid them too. There are plenty of retailers who are transparent, fair, and respectful of their customers. Shopbop, in my view, is not one of them.

The Worst Customer Service I’ve Ever Experienced
This has been one of the most frustrating shopping experiences I’ve ever had. I called Shopbop right after placing my order to fix the address, and they still took three whole days to make the change. And when they finally did, they somehow changed it without the apartment number, making the situation even worse.Because of their delay, the package was already running late, and the missing apartment number guaranteed it wouldn’t arrive on time. I ended up having to call UPS myself, and the only option was to redirect the package to an access point — which cost me another $8 out of pocket.What makes it even more infuriating is that Shopbop just stopped answering my emails and clearly had no interest in helping or taking any responsibility. For a company that charges premium prices, their customer service is absolutely unacceptable.I won’t be ordering from them again.

Quality Control Failed
I ordered a sweatshirt for $186 after a 25% discount. They shipped me a sweatshirt that looked used. It had dust and ink stains all over it, and it didn’t even come with a tag. I can’t imagine how an online retailer could send out a product that isn’t cheap yet still appears low-quality or seems completely unchecked before shipping.Even so, I still gave it 3 stars because I called customer service, and the representative handled the issue quickly and apologized. But I still have to post this here because I want online stores to review their quality control and respect for customers. I wish I could post the photos I took of the sweatshirt here.

I ordered a shirt from Shopbop and received an empty box with only packing paper inside. When I contacted customer service, I was told that my order had “shipped accurately and completely,” and they refused to issue a refund or replacement.So at this point, I’ve paid $159 and received nothing but an empty box.
