Customer service is so rude they…

Customer service is so rude they literally hung up on me. I told them not to order a new GIC and they just did anyway and now they want 500 bucks to cancel it and I literally told them as if there's not an auto renew button all on them but they'll try to take 500 bucks from you

the worst bank in my life

This bank is very unprofessional; they know nothing and can't do anything. I've never seen such a poorly run bank in my life, nor such incompetent employees. I'm devastated that I opened an account here. I've been waiting for my Visa Debit card for a month and a half. I've spoken to five people, and no one can help me. I could write a lot, but I'm too upset. Don't open an account with this bank. I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown thinking about how the people who work here behave.

The most incapable bank ever

The most incapable bank ever! Their system is so clumsy to use, try their auto greeting when you have to call them, the most stupid one ever! Made a formal complanit about it a few years ago, no change at all, still the same "man" asking you stupid questions "he" can never understand. Their e-transfer verification is another hit to them: it requires me to verify with my passport, asked me to hold the camera steady and smile, the verification just stays there after I can no longer "smile". I'm a Canadian, living in Australia, it's so easy to bank in Australia. I just don't want to say more to idiots in RBC. They are all idiots!

The Most Incompetent Customer Service Ever

I rated it a one because zero or minus weren’t options. THE WORST customer service it has been my misfortune to experience. Sent my replacement credit card to the wrong address, kept putting me off when I questioned why I hadn’t received it. Two days before expiry they admit it was returned a month earlier because they sent it to the wrong address. Promised to courier it overnight. One week later still haven’t received it. Told by customer rep #2 that it wasn’t sent out and that it was active. Passed to a security rep who advised that wasn’t true and in fact, the card wasn’t even sent. Also, some moron removed ALL my account information from my online account and after speaking with FIVE different customer service reps, never got an explanation why. I am still waiting for the card and for all my account information and history to be back on line as of this date one week later. Useless, incompetent and couldn’t care less about an over two decade loyal customer.

RBC despicable thieves.

RBC They are thieves at this bank.How they keep customers is beyond me.They owe me 1000$ in charges.They didn't do a proper investigation and would not provide me with the information I needed to stop it. They literally treat people like trash if they aren't high end customers. They steal from the low income and then treat you like you're not Worth taking seriously.They stole 1000$ from me.This bank is a disgrace.I would not do business with such a racist bank and rude people.Be very careful.

I could not use my online banking

I could not use my online banking. Called customer service and became very frustrated with the virtual bot service. Eventually talked to a human and we reset my password, this did not work. They said an activation code was necessary and they had to send it to me, but I am out of the country. Needless to say, many phone calls and virtual meetings, 2 months later I still do not have access. MY HUSBAND AND I WILL DEFINITELY BE CHANGING BANKS!

Absolutely the worst customer service…

Absolutely the worst customer service anywhere. I have been with RBC for over 40 years. They have really gone downhill. You get no help unless you basically provide a DNA sample. We are moving our business banking and our personal banking out. As well my family is currently doing the same due to awful customer service

Don't care about their customers

I have been a customer for 30 years and I called to see if they would match another bank's high interest savings account offer, but they said no. When I told them I will be closing my account, they said sorry. They obviously don't care at all about customer retention, which means they don't care at all about their customers.

Absolute worst bank

Absolute worst bank, worst employees, and just disgusting policies. They lied to me from day 1 saying everything was good and all the paper work was in place amd done properly until 1 day, my account was blocked and I couldn't receive payments from clients, I couldn't spend money to get materials or equipment for upcoming jobs, they prevented me from operating my business for over a month. Because they blocked my account, I lost out on 6 install jobs @ about $6000 ea. Plus lots service work! Its been 2 months now, that this happened. And to this day, I have NOT received a single phone call or email about this. For the last 2 weeks, I call and keep being told i will get a manager call back in 24 to 48 hours. And they dont call. They are the most unprofessional, unethical, rudest people I have EVER dealt with! How are they still allowed to operate? With all the problems you read about, the government should shut them down and force them to pay every person a certain amount back.

Worst experience with a bank that I have ever had. Multiple differing procedures dependant on who I speak with. Refusal to supply manager's name so cannot speak with them. Phone service is automated and continuously hangs up on me.

GIC with RBC

We have a GIC with RBC, and I got an e-mail telling me to log in to their Online Banking website to see a "GIC Maturity Notice", but when I tried to find this on the website, it said "We couldn't load your documents, please try again"What is the use of "paper-saving electronic documents" that only save the bank money, and don't tell me what I need to know?

The main complaint is with customer service online and on phone

The main complaint is with customer service online or by phone. Royal Bank customer service is a joke, and obviously designed not provide service and spend as little as possible so the suits in Toronto can get fat bonuses. The people at the actual bank branches are very helpful, but the online and phone help is no help at all. Recently an account that I have been using online for over 2 years was blocked. The security people on the phone said I had to go to the branch to fix the problem. I live 3000 miles from the branch. Finally after a delay of 2 days and an online teams meeting it got fixed. Now it has occurred again, and the customer service phone people say the same thing. I need to go to the branch. The suits in Toronto have done their job. Created a system which is totally useless. And BTW the Virtual assistant (phone robots) crap is just that, crap. More system designed not to be helpful.

Service Standards Have Significantly Dropped

I have been a long-time RBC client with multiple accounts and mortgages. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been very disappointing.Communication has been inconsistent, and calls are often not returned in a timely manner. I have not received proactive financial guidance despite being with the same advisor for several years.Recently, I had to book an appointment just to clarify how to deposit a draft after an initial visit did not resolve the issue. Basic banking tasks should not require that level of effort.We also waited nearly two months for a credit decision, only to receive a decline without meaningful alternative solutions offered. As a long-standing customer, I expected a higher level of professionalism and service. At this point, I am seriously considering reviewing my banking relationships.

Horrible customer service and rude staff

My mom and I went to the RBC and one of the employees had horrible service. He didn’t tell us about ANY of the fees, he told us we can figure it out online and he just walked away. Like hello what kinda of service is this? His managers even there. Why is there no managers at a bank. When we first walked in nobody even wanted to help.
