Fountains West in Ocoee

Fountains West in Ocoee, Florida. 5 stars for employee awesomeness (almost everyone). The awesome are very friendly and helpful. But... I'm rating food freshness, expiration date of stock on the shelves (do they not know how to rotate old to the front, new to the back when restocking shelves?). It's basic common sense to rotate stock, but laziness and poor training says just put the new stuff up front?? Is that the new norm? Also, do they not know that fresh produce in a container (like cherry tomatoes) ripen faster in that container and if you don't check or rotate stock, you're selling moldy produce? And why can't I get YumYum sauce with my sushi at Fountains West? The Sushi chef always says they have none. Why sell sushi without the special sauces? I'd like to do all my shopping at Fountains West, it's close to home, I like the employees. And I don't have a complex grocery list. But, I generally end up at a different store a few miles away because I can't count on Fountains West to have what I need all at once like the other Publix stores manage to achieve...and the other stores don't sell rotten produce.Whoever is responsible for ordering and checking dates on meats and produce misses the boat by a very long mile. And teach those that stock the expensive produce how remove rotten products. The other day, I gave a stock person 9 packages of cherry tomatoes that were full of mold and there were more on display. They didn't even say sorry or appear surprised. I also have given the meat counter an entire rack of expired lunchmeat as well.Note, I am NOT talking about independent vendors (bread, chips, soda, and others that stock those areas), they’re fabulous. Always well stocked and fresh. My generous one star rating is ONLY for areas maintained by Publix and the lack of care for the store by management. Why do I keep going to Fountains West expecting different results?… Maybe I'm not the brightest candle on the cake… But I’m hopeful?… Yes, I am... It’s closer? Yes... But, is it worth it when you have to go to a 2nd store? …Get it together Fountains West! I miss the days when you were a one stop shop. And FYI, my grocery list hasn't changed much in the last 18 years, you used to have it all, and fresh, unexpired, non-moldy foods.

Publix was the gold standard

Publix was the gold standard for groceries but has risen prices to the point that it's not possible to buy anything at full price. They are pushing us to buy in "bulk" like you are shopping at Costco since you can only buy things on BOGO for it to make sense. I have 5, yes 5 Publix within a 8 mile radius of me and none of them can figure out when fruit is ripe (pre-cut fruit bowls are always either past ripe and mush or not ripe at all and hard as a rock) I have started returning everything at this point-I'm not going to continue to overpay and then get stuck overpaying for something that isn't even edible. The cut melons are crunchy and tasteless, the strawberries are hard as a rock and tasteless. I almost broke a tooth on the last piece of pineapple I tried that was in a fruit bowl. I would buy the fruit and cut it myslef, but it's all rotten and moldy if you buy a bag or container. They sell you a bag of grapefruit (way overpriced to start) and 2 will be soft, moldy and rotten, so now those precious few that are good now cost the price of gold. Half the time I have to take a picture of the sale sign because when I go to the register to check out the sale doesn't register, or they have left an old sale sign up and it's not really on sale.I wish more Trader Joe's were possible-all grocery has it's problems, but I've never felt I've had to return something so that I wasn't just throwing money at the store. Fresh Market (YES FRESH MARKET) has become a cheaper option-THAT'S RIDDICULOUS. It's FRESH MARKET-they are like Whole Foods-pricey and Boutique, but the food hasn't been as bad. Like the guy from Star Wars would say "IT'S A TRAP"! You SUCK PUBLIX. PS-your mobile site (to find a deal) is slow, down most of the time, and has incorrect pictures for the items it advertises. You are just recycling the same sales every XX weeks-how is it not right?

The worst experience in my life today

The worst experience in my life today. Trying to return an item, and you would’ve thought the girl was on something. She was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered at any Publix. She had 20 questions on why I was returning the item. She argued with me in front of the manager, he said stop and she kept on. Apparently neither have any customer service, which I spent 35 years of my life in. So I truly know how to treat customers, even if I think they are wrong. I go to this store every single day as I’m retired, and I buy things fresh daily. Customer service was not with a smile today. 😞😞 This was Publix at Southchase.

I want to give a huge shout‑out to Valeria in the Deli! AT the Publix's in Greenville, she is always so kind, helpful, and welcoming every single time I visit. I work at a corporate office, and we are always ordering subs—so I see her often—and she never fails to greet everyone with a smile.Valeria has such a warm, positive spirit, and she truly goes above and beyond to make sure customers are taken care of. Her great attitude and outstanding customer service deserve to be recognized.I just had to take a moment to leave this review because she is absolutely awesome, and Publix is lucky to have her!

Pecan coffee, cake, all bakery items pretty much

I went into Publix thinking I was going to buy a pecan coffee cake, but as it has been pretty much in the past year or so it was so overcooked and dry looking I would not purchase it. I’ve noticed they’re always overcooked lately? Also, I did return an apple cinnamon loaf cake because it was so dry. You couldn’t even slice it. It just crumbled. I’m sorry to say I used to love a public bakery, but it has gone downhill a lot in the last few years. I don’t know what the problem is, but the quality is no longer top.

Ordered Superbowl Choclate covered strawberries, they did not appear AT ALL as the online photos protrayed, strawberries were bruised and once even had mold on the stem area - Very disappointed, I would give "0" stars if I could.

Publix in Twelve Oaks Plaza

Publix in Twelve Oaks Plaza - 55th Ave Bradenton has the most un-kind, unfriendly customer service rep name Teresa. I don’t think she knows how to smile or be remotely polite. She acts like you are annoying her. Or that the money is coming out of her pocket when overcharged. I will not return to this Publix.

Dishonest and Just doesn’t care

A Publix semi blew a tire in front of our car and damaged our car. We have pictures and witnesses and Publix says it’s not their responsibility. You would expect more out of a company that likes to so call “give back” to the community and give the impression they are honest and caring company Very disappointing that they could treat people this way.

I WILL NEVER GO TO A PUBLIX AGAIN ON A SATURDAY OR SUNDAY!!!!! EVERY WEEKEND PUBLIX ALLOWS SOME KIDS GROUP OR SPORTS TEAM TO STAND OUTSIDE THEIR STORES AND SHAKE DOWN THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR MONEY!!!! WHAT IS WITH THESE LAZY CHEAP PARENTS THESE DAYS WHO EXPECT OTHERS TO PAY FOR THEIR KIDS ' EXPENSES?????? WHAT A DISGRACE! THEY ARE TEACHING THEIR KIDS THAT NO MATTER WHAT THEY WANT, JUST GET SOMEONE ELSE TO PAY FOR IT!!!!! SHAME ON PUBLIX FOR ALLOWING THIS SHAKE DOWN!!!

Each week prices are higher and higher

Each week prices are higher and higher, this company is way too greedy and I am definitely avoiding stores in Jacksonville. 13 oz Publix brand prepackaged and sliced turkey almost 14 dollars 😱😱😱 Aldis price for 14 oz organic brand name sliced turkey under 7 bucks ….. other prices are insane as well, I don’t know what this company trying to do but ripping peoples wallet it’s not good. Trader Joe, Aldis, some other small grocery stores as well as Walmart and WInn DIxie will get my money in future. Publix …. Hell no, not a dime !!!!!

Publix has become a greed corporation…

Publix has become a greed corporation compared to when I was a child and first job at Caledesi Publix in 1989 as a 15 year old bagger and since them years I’ve watched Publix turn to a greedy and poisonous corporation , Majority of their foods are unhealthy by products food loaded with pesticides, fertilizers and unnatural , even the 10 percent of organic is overpriced. They now are allowing Primo water to add a extra ten cents to water dispenser sales causing a unconservative moves of more loose change to satisfy their billion dollar greed , the real criminals is the food industry that is why it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than a rich man and his corporation to enter the Kingdom of Jesus Christ . A judgement to all because we are all promised the same thing in life we all our going to feel death and will your death be your glory is the final question ,, I pray that one fine beautiful day the everlasting fire of the King of kings burn all greedy who hold the poor under the tribute of their poison ..Down Oppressor Man where you going to run all along that judgement day, you can’t run to God begging HIM to hide you

Better then Kroger

Great stores - though, I generally only shop the BOGO sales which can be great deal! The produce is very good as well. The stores are very clean, and I definitely have to control myself to steer clear of the baked good section!!

Publix at Cosby Station in Douglasville, GA where shopping was not a pleasure

I tend to shop at Publix at Cosby Station in Douglasville, GA, even knowing that the prices can be a little higher, because the customer service has been pretty outstanding. However last week on Friday/Saturday, I went in the store to order a fruit tray and was told I needed to order it online. I was a bit taken aback, but I did as instructed and went online and ordered the tray. There is a section that says "Special Instructions" I put in my request that I only wanted strawberries, blueberries, pineapples and apples. This was the request of the person I was gifting the tray to. Yes the photo reflected different fruits, but I though that was for advertisement or photo purposes. My husband picked up the tray that had melon etc... Not what was in my special instructions. The special instructions were still listed on my receipt. I went into the store on Saturday morning and went to customer service to ask for the manager. After waiting 10 minutes the lady returned and said the manager said for me to go to the Deli to have it handled. He never came out. I then went to the deli and waited another 6 minutes for her to come out. She said we cannot change it due to "Publix Policy". (I missed the customer class on all the Publix policies) I asked if they read the special instructions and if so why would no one contact me via phone or email to instruct me on this policy. No response. One question, if the manager knew this was the policy, why would you send me to the Deli Manager. So not only did I not get what I needed, but I was also sent around the store to attempt to handle. I went back to customer service to pay again for the fruit I needed. The customer service person was shocked that they did not fix it. I guess she missed that policy meeting too. On this day, shopping was clearly not a pleasure.

Selling comprised gift cards

On 12/4/2025 Publix (Loganville GA) sold my family 5 Amazon gift cards. 3 of the $100 gift cards were given to 3 female family members during the holidays. We found out on 1/3/2026 via Amazon rep that these cards had been used by someone named "Justin". We collected all 3 cards from our female family members along with the original purchase receipt. We returned to Publix on 1/4/2026 and they filed a report with corporate. We returned to this location (Atlanta Hwy) for an update on 1/16/2026. We found that corporate's Black Hawk dept denied the claim because there was no money left on the cards. Im pretty sure the scammer "Justin" whole intention with tampering with the cards was to steal the claim code so he could steal the money once activated via purchase smh!!!! I received an internal email via corporate that they gave the Logsnville location the option to handle it on a store level. The managers on duty, M.D and Maria proved to be utterly useless!!!!! They expect us to eat a $300 loss after purchasing, and providing proof of purchase along with all 3 orignal cards from Publix? Not on my watch! I see why the scammer felt so comfortable with this store. 3 out of 5 cards purchased in one transaction? Wiped out by a "Justin"? Theres something definitely going on at this location and Im certain its happening to others at this location as well!!!!!!! This is NOT the place to purchase from, as it appears they welcome dishonesty and prove to be rewarding thieves!!!!!!

Publix is a lot more expensive than anywhere else

I've been shopping at Publix for a long time. Most things I get from Walmart and save a lot of money. But now Publix prices have gotten to extreme. Y'all gotta be out of your minds. Im sorry I'm not paying those prices anymore. Time to find somewhere else

HIGH PRICES FOR FAKE FOOD

ublix Review – High Prices, Low Quality, Misleading Fruit BowlsPublix has completely lost touch with everyday customers. The prices are extremely high, and the quality no longer matches what you’re charging—especially when it comes to the so-called “fresh” fruit bowls. These fruit bowls are overpriced, low-quality, and lack real nutritional value. The fruit often tastes bland, overripe, or processed, yet the cost is close to what a child’s full meal would be for the day. That’s unacceptable for families trying to eat healthy on a budget. What’s most disappointing is that Publix built its reputation on quality and trust, but now it feels like profit is being put over people. Selling overpriced, low-nutrient food while branding it as fresh and healthy is misleading. Many customers are struggling financially and trying to make better food choices. We deserve real fruit, real nutrition, and fair pricing—not inflated costs for food that doesn’t deliver.Publix needs to do better, because loyalty is earned, not assumed.

Disappointing

I will No Longer Support or Buy from Publix Ever Again. The Broad Street Store in Chattanooga TN is troublesome. I went to this store twice to purchase a money order using my PayPal card. They would not accept it both times even after using my pin. Waisted a 30 min lunch break Twice fooling with these fools. Later went to Walmart and got my money order with no problem! Using my PayPal Debit Card! Other Concerns I’ve noticed with Publix on Broad Street …Watching your Every Move while you Shop!

Hire a new assistant pharmacy manager

Hire a new assistant pharmacy manager, Will A. Was right on in his review . Our family will never set foot in a Publix againMy physician sent a prescription electronically, it was for a controlled substance. We were told the prescription would be ready in a week. 8 days later, my wife goes to the pharmacy to pick up my medication and is told by the associate that they do not carry that medication. My wife shows the prescription and how they accepted the prescription. She then ask the associate, why would you accept a prescription for something you don't carry a tell us to pick it up on a specific date. My wife has documentation in her hand, the electronic transcript and prescription. The associate was flustered and the line was getting longer. The associate asked the assistant pharmacy manager Maria Elena, whom was on the phone like dealing with someone or something else, she yelled down that she didn't have time to deal with that woman and echoed what the associate said. When my wife came home fuming and upset that she couldn't get my medication for the pain I was in following a spinal fusion.I became livid, not about the medicine, but how she was treated at a store we go to for our entire family's prescription and shopping 2-3 times a week, guessing we spend about $50k a year.So being livid I called Publix headquarters, good luck getting someone on the phone with a pulse. I finally did and there solution was to have Maria Elena call to find out what happened. She had lots of questions, but when I told her the rude associate in question was her. Her tone immediately changed into the rude person that spoke to my wife. She said it never happened, it's not her nature to be rude to a client, but here she was on the phone being rude to me. She insisted it wasn't her. I then asked, is there another assistant manager , older, heavy set with thinning hair, as you can expect, that didn't go well and she dug in harder and said my wife was mistaken. I then said, there is 2 sides to the story, one with nothing to gain and the other defending bad behavior. So I said, if you are telling me the truth, then you're telling me my wife made this up and is lying to me. Her response was you are putting words in my mouth , I said no I am not. If your story is true, my wife lied. But I know my wife, she fought for my prescription and held up the line. I said mam, you are a rude person that has no place in the service industry, you were to call me and apologize, instead, she treated me just like my wife.Well PUBLIX, i know your a big corporation and we used to love shopping there, but we are taking our $50,000 dollars a year and going to Milan's, Walgreens any place other than Publix.Based upon other reviews on this site, you have a problem and folks are growing tired of how we are being treated. We are just the beginning of folks making choices about the way they wish to be treated. No need to contact me, I have already experienced how you handle your problems. No I don't need a fruit basket or a gift certificate...... there is a change coming and the message is out.WHAT amazes me is reading all the reviews and that pharmacy has a 1.8 rating and Publix to my knowledge has done nothing.Keep the reviews coming!
