I recently purchased a Profoto Connect…

I recently purchased a Profoto Connect kit via Wilkinson Cameras, and unfortunately the unit arrived defective (would not hold charge or connect reliably). Faults happen — but what has been most disappointing is how the issue was handled, particularly on Profoto’s side.Despite escalating the issue urgently ahead of a wedding, Profoto’s communication was poor. I was passed between Wilkinson, Luminary, and Profoto with no one taking clear ownership. Gustav at Profoto did reply initially, but his responses were defensive and did not provide the clarity, urgency, or support I needed as a working professional about to shoot a critical job.Wilkinson did what they could, but with no stock available and no immediate loan or solution offered, I was left stranded without a functioning trigger. For a premium brand like Profoto, this level of support and communication is unacceptable.When professionals invest at this level, it’s not just the gear they’re buying — it’s the confidence that the brand will stand behind them when things go wrong. In this case, that confidence was badly shaken.

Profoto A10 Flash - Warning: Do Not Buy

Do not purchase the Profoto A10 flash. I bought this flash from the official Profoto website in France, with a promised 2-year warranty. After just one year, it started misfiring intermittently. The problem was diagnosed as a burned-out contact to the flash bulb.When I contacted the official dealer for warranty service, they told me they couldn’t help because I live in Turkey, where there is no official Profoto support. I recently moved to Canada, where official service centers exist, but every service center I contacted refused to repair the unit, stating it is “non-repairable”Who needs any proofs, photos, etc - email me: yemelinart @ gmail.com

Profoto doesn't stand by their products.

I have tens of thousands of dollars worth of profit equipment. After this last purchase, I have been burned for the last time. They don't stand behind their products. Most recently, I purchased an A2 for around $1000 from their site. Straight out of the box, it didn't work properly (and this isn't the first time I've had this problem). When I ask to return, they tell me they'll be a 20% restocking fee or that I need to send it in for repairs. Mind you, I have purchased within 30 days, and the flash only fires once every 3-5 triggers. I'm in the middle of busy season and don't have time to wait on repairs for a brand new piece of equipment. I had a problem like this with the B2 I purchased in 2020. Straight out of the box, the flash did not work properly - consistent over powering. I sent it to them for repairs as they recommend and they shipped it back. It has NEVER worked properly so that is money in the toilet. I also have had 2 A10's die prematurely. At this point, I'm done giving them my hard earned money. They have not provided quality equipment, and I'm convinced that there is a quality control issue that they are not addressing. I have equipment from Godox and other rivals that have held up markedly better and that I have not had any of these issues with. Please trust me and run the other way.

Profoto gear works beautifully is…

Profoto gear works beautifully, is exceptionally well designed, a joy to use and backed by exceptional service. I especially like that it is quick and easy to establish lighting control and it never lets me down delivering consistent results. Profoto lighting equipment enables creativity. It is worth the investment.

I have been using Profoto products for…

I have been using Profoto products for 15 years and have invested over 35k+ in products I have never had to use the service before today and Ill tell you Im done with Profoto because of the customer service. I purchased 2 Demo B10x plus from the Demo side and they got to me quickly but one of for them was DOA and when they got it back to me they said it would take 2-4 weeks to repair the unit. I found that to be unacceptable because it was days old and I felt they should replace the unit with another. After all that the service manager called me and fixed everything restored my confidence in the brand and I’m very happy now.
