Buyer beware

Buyer beware. I finally cancelled my insurance with them after 2 years. They became unresponsive to claims, inquiries and raised my rates without notification. They will not send updated cards requested 2 weeks, because the claim address is incorrect on the back so they aren't acknowledging claims and then I have collection agencies now coming after me. I checked the cards on line 6/30 and they still have not updated the claim address. They delayed paying for my mamogram in 2023 which was turned over to collections and now they are delaying payment for the same sevice in 2025. I signed up with another provider 7/1 and had my bank to block payments.

I was with optimed for 1 year

I was with optimed for 1 year, they wouldn't pay anything. Very hard to find any doctors who take them, then they claim out of area. Very disappointed.

Beware of this OptiMed Health. It is a scam

This Optimed Health Insurance company is a total scam. Its CEO is Andrew Bard, VP of Operations is Tim Dewey, Chief Financial Officer is Brian Monahan. I subscribed to its MEC when I worked as a contractor through SRI Technologies. It does not pay for ophthalmology, colonoscopy, podiatry, etc. It does not even pay for blood test. I had a blood test done on 05/18/2024 as part of my yearly health checkup. Optimed Health refused to pay for it. Quest Diagnostic sent me a bill for the blood test and I had to pay for it, a total of $1868. I called Optimed customer services 5 or 6 times after paying, hoping it would reimburse me, but no result. Finally fed up with Optimed customer services, I filed a complaint on Better Business Bureau, and after a few weeks, they still refuse to pay for the blood test.

SCAMERS !!!

I mistakenly contacted this company, thinking it was an official government website. They redirected me to an "agent " who sold me a health insurance plan that sounded too good to be true..."QuickHealth" The company which pretends to provide people with health insurance at a very good price. In fact, they take money from people and do not provide anything. They say that within a week they will send a medical card. They did not send me any medical card. After 2 weeks they wanted to withdraw more money. But as soon as I figured out that I was SCAMED, I block my credit card. The phone number they provide never works. They said that if within a month I want to cancel, I can easily do so and they will refund my money. Exactly 1 days later I realized that they were scammers and I canceled, but no one has returned my money to this day.How else did I know they were scammers because they said they take all cards except Capital One and that I had to call right in front of them and give permission to withdraw money. Later you cannot dispute their charges because you gave a permission yourself. And it turned out like all scammers. First they withdrew 1.99 to check if the card works, and then they withdrew all the other amounts, four times. When I wrote a bad review on Trust Pilot about this company, they suddenly called me and said that they would return all my money, just so that I would delete the review. Well, there was a scam here too, they send me an email showing some pictures of refund. But in fact, they didn't return any money.

I contacted an individual affiliated…

I contacted an individual affiliated with OptiMed by the name of Marie at 888-799-0191 ext. 104. Unfortunately, I do not have her last name. She sold me a false insurance policy, claiming it was a Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plan, with a family out of pocket max at $9,450. She also told me that ER/ambulance/hospital services were 70/30 coinsurance. After signing up for the policy, I learned that it has no affiliation at all with BCBS. It is a discount program. I also learned that $9,450 was the individual (not family) out of pocket max, and ER/ambulance/hospital services are NOT covered 70/30 (100% is covered by me). My bank account was drafted $999.10 immediately. The plan states that I am allowed to cancel within 30 days for a refund. However, I have been calling OptiMed nearly every day for over 3 weeks and have yet to receive a cancellation confirmation or refund. I have been passed off to various individuals who all tell me different things about the cancellation process and how long it takes. Stay away.

I have had an individual Optimed Health…

I have had an individual Optimed Health Plan for me and my college age kids for 2 years. I've had no issues for seeing any doctor, any specialist or the 1 trip to the hospital for appendicitis. Claims are paid and I have no problem navigating the website, nor obtaining customer service. For 4 of us, I pay less than $1,000 per month. I have prescription coverage averaging $20 per fill, have never been denied a medication and my hospital deductible for emergency surgery was $2,500. My agent is always available for questions and renewals are automatic unless I want a change. I was told by another agent that this is not an insurance company but instead a "grouping" from Puerto Rico. I did some research and all I can say is I am a traveling nurse who was paying $1,500 a month for group sponsored care that was only in effect if I was on assignement. This policy made life easier for me. Now, mental health and pregnancy isn't covered but for me that isn't an issue; however, that is a national health care issue not just an Optimed Issue. As far as I'm concerned, I am very pleased with this plan.

Optimedhealth - Fraudulent Health Insurance Scam

I mistakenly contacted this company, thinking it was an official Obama-Care related government website. They redirected me to an 'agent' who sold me a health insurance plan that sounded too good to be true—and it was. I was led to believe I was purchasing an Aetna health insurance plan, but it turned out to be a scam. They stole my personal information, including my Social Security number, and charged my credit card for a fake insurance plan. Reaching their support team has been impossible, as they don't answer the phone or provide any way to cancel the fake plan. I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card company. I strongly recommend that others file a police report to create a paper trail in case they ever try to falsely claim you owe them money. This documentation could help protect you and even provide grounds to take legal action against them in the future. Stay far away from this fraudulent operation!
