Bought a Kitchen aid dishwasher from…

Bought a Kitchen aid dishwasher from Lowe’s back in September 2025. In January 2026(4 months later) it wouldn’t drain and was giving me the error code related to the drain pump. Called in to submit a warranty repair and the soonest they could get a repair scheduled was a month. So I wait a month for the repair guy to come, and he doesn’t have the right part with him, so now I have to wait 3 more weeks for him to come back. Called back into Kitchenaid to see if there was another option. Three different people from Kitchenaid all told me the same thing. That I had no other option than to wait. I would caution anyone reading this against buying an appliance from the Kitchenaid/Whirlpool family. Having to wait 2 months for a repair on an appliance that I’ve only had for 4 months is crazy and I can’t believe that they think that is ok. I will personally never buy another appliance again from any of the brands they own.

Kitchenaid have failed to stand by…

Kitchenaid have failed to stand by their product on multiple occasions with me. If you want a major appliance that you can have faith in and know that it will get fixed if it goes wrong…..don’t buy a Kitchenaid.

Refunds take 2 months

I hate complaining about businesses, but buyer beware. I wish I had known that Kitchen Aid is not a reliable company. The situation: I returned a Kitchen Aid in early January. It was delivered January 9th. We are currently at Feb 24th and I have still not received my refund. I called, and the receptionist who answered said they "were closed for the holidays" and I should wait another 3 weeks for my refund. I'm sorry- what holidays? Valentine's Day? I've never seen a company treat returns with such disregard. My questions is, had I not called, would they have ever sent the refund? Or just assumed that the customer isn't looking and kept the payment. I would have liked to have known this before purchasing from Kitchen Aid. I hope this will help others as well.

Not worth the cheaper prices

They somehow managed to omit part of my address to the courier - spent 6 hours at home waiting for delivery, 45 minutes on hold with the courier to find out why delivery was cancelled and an hour on hold with Kitchenaid to initiate a refund, so I could buy from Breville instead. Which I should have done in the first place. Pay now or pay later. Awful company.

Whirlpool / KitchenAid – Long-Time Customer Warning

Long-time KitchenAid customer here. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid. For nearly 30 years, we trusted this brand because the products were solid and dependable. That trust has now been completely shaken. In January, I purchased a new KitchenAid dishwasher (Model KDTS424SPS, Serial FE4303041) for approximately $1,660. The first unit failed during the installation test cycle and was confirmed defective by the technician. It was removed and replaced. The replacement unit initially appeared to run normally. However, during only the second real household use, the dishwasher emitted a strong, pungent burning plastic smell mid-cycle that quickly filled my entire home. I had to shut it off immediately due to safety concerns.A Whirlpool-authorized technician later explained that this model contains exposed heating element rods. According to him, lightweight plastic items can shift or fall during a wash cycle and come into contact with the exposed heating elements, causing them to burn.In a normal family household, especially one with children, this is not a minor inconvenience. It is a serious design concern. Dishwashers are household appliances. Plastic items are common. Children help unload dishes. Burning plastic fumes filling a home is not acceptable, particularly in a premium appliance at this price point. What has been equally disturbing is the customer service response.Whirlpool’s solution was to send a technician and offer a discount toward another purchase. No replacement. No refund. No meaningful accountability. After spending hours on hold, receiving no returned supervisor calls, and being told that the warranty covers parts only, I am left with a $1,600 appliance that I do not feel safe using in my own home. This is already the second dishwasher within a single month. Additionally, a Whirlpool microwave purchased in December is now making unusual sounds. The pattern is troubling. If you are contemplating purchasing Whirlpool or KitchenAid appliances, I strongly encourage you to do extensive research before making a decision. The product quality and post-purchase support do not match the premium pricing.I also encourage consumers to review the complaint history on the Better Business Bureau website and look at the volume of consumer filings. It is important to understand how issues are handled after the sale is complete.Based on my experience, once the purchase is made, resolving serious product concerns becomes extremely difficult.Proceed carefully.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK!!! We spent some very serious money completely remodeling with KitchenAid appliances. Fridge, microwave, oven, induction cooktop, dishwasher and hood vent. With the exception of the hood vent, we have had repairs done to every item. The induction was cross wired at the factory (should have been recalled), the fridge, oven and microwave have had to be repaired multiple times. The dishwasher in now being repaired for the third time. This is the worst junk ever! As a property manager, I tell everyone I can KitchenAid products are a JOKE!!

Warnings to Buyers direct from their Website …

Warnings to Buyers have purchased a mixer directly from Kitchenaid and have it returned in early October 2025. Now is February 18, 2026 I still have Not received my refund. Each time I tried to call them up, I have waited for hours and hours. They kept telling me it has been processed. Totally unacceptable !

Double oven door switch.

I just paid a service company over $600 to repair our double oven. Turns out the 2 rivets holding the door-close switch failed presumably during a self cleaning cycle. The rivets appear to be aluminum (not great for extended exposure to high heat). Cost to redesign this mechanism has to be in the $.05 range which is a small price to pay for massively improved brand trust. PS all 3 techs I talked to recommended never using the self-cleaning feature. I’m an engineer and product manager. I would be embarrassed to let this design ever leave the CAD phase.

If I could give a -10 I would

If I could give a -10 I would. Absolutely pointless 1 hr 15 min wait. Don't waste your time! First question she asked after listening to me tell her the oven didn't heat up when on bake mode was "which rack was your food on"

No response from Customer service

I have requested confirmation from Pavlos in Kitchen Aid customer service that he has received both the receipt and video of the faulty item, I done this twice and still waiting for their response. This is awful lack of care for the customer, I'm not holding out any hope of getting my problem resolved despite it's under the manufacturers GUARANTEE

I bought a KitchenAid range directly…

I bought a KitchenAid range directly from their site and what should have been a straightforward purchase turned into a nightmare. The delivery was late, the product arrived damaged, and trying to sort it out with customer service was impossible. I spent hours on hold, only to be shuffled between departments that never had answers. When I finally reached someone, they offered no real help — just vague promises and excuses. For a brand that charges premium prices, this level of support and product quality is unacceptable. I expected reliability but got endless frustration instead.

Terrible customer service

Free delivery on items over £75, so they deliberately make their reduced bowls 74.25 with massively inflated delivery costs (12.50). I tried to cancel when I found out the same product was much cheaper with free delivery on Amazon but one of their support lines was disconnected. The other number I found said they had too much traffic so I should cancel via email.Sent email but then the next day got an email saying they had shipped the product (ignoring my cancellation).

They say you have 15 days to return an unused item but representatives manipulate the policy and understanding to their advantage. There's long wait times and you cannot get anywhere with customer service and they purposely put you on hold even longer. The website has the return policy that is not being followed by Representatives.

Terrible customer service

If I could put no stars I would. Kitchen aide would not stand behind the dual range 36” stove we bought that was not packaged right and was broken. You would think that after paying $7k on a stove they would pay for $160 part. Very unhappy with my experience with them. Buyers be ware!!

customer support is terrible

Trying to install a semi-commercial range hood fan #UXB1170KYS. According to building code it must be interlocked with a make-up-air unit. I have spent a couple hours getting dropped, dumped and looped on the phone trying to get through to someone who knows anything and am now on hold again. They simply tell me to consult the installation guide which says nothing about interlock. KitchenAid customer support is a complete waste of time

Absolutely Horrible! Life and Time Suckers!

Absolutely, unequivocally, without a shadow of doubt, THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE....EVER! If you want to spend hours of your life, listening to hold music only to be disconnected, then try the "chat" method they offer, only to be disconnected if you don't type fast enough, then try and call again, only to spend another hour on the phone, trying to get to the same department, then KitchenAid is the company for you. My dishwasher is three months old and I have yet to use it. Can't get anyone out at the times I'm available, and can't get any other resolution. I will NEVER order appliances through KitchenAid again.

Defective unit out of the box - KitchenAid ignoring consumer law

I have been a dedicated KitchenAid fan for years, relying on my trusty 5KSM125 for my daily baking. When I upgraded to the new 5KSM193, I expected the same "iconic" performance. Instead, I received a machine that feels like a downgrade in every way.The Issues:Motor Distress: Right out of the box, the motor has a metallic, "sick" sound. It sounds like it’s about to burn up during standard use.Heat Issues: The head of the mixer gets incredibly hot within minutes.Performance: There is zero torque compared to my older model. It struggles with dough that my previous machine handled effortlessly.Poor QC: No difference in speed between levels 8, 9, and 10. This is clearly a quality control failure.Customer Support: Even worse, after reporting these major defects immediately, customer service tried to hide behind a "14-day return window," ignoring my legal rights regarding defective goods. They are refusing a refund and pushing for repairs on a brand-new, premium-priced machine.KitchenAid used to mean quality for life. Now, it seems you only pay for the color and the logo, while the motor inside is subpar. Truly disappointing.
