Horrible and impossible to enroll. They keep rejecting documents for no good reason and everyone gives you a different answer. They keep requesting Virginia scores for a child that never went to school in Virginia. Waste of time I enrolled my child in Connections Academy instead way better k12 school! Reviews are so bad they turned off their google option to leave a review that should tell you all you need to know!
A lot of the faculty and staff are very ignorant towards technology for the school to be virtual. They don’t communicate with one another and be behaved dumbfounded when tangible questions and issues arise. Teachers barely replied to student emails, but the students suffered due to all of this. The parents have to figure out what’s true versus the staff and faculties lackluster understanding of their very platform and systems. Overall, a very bad school for students and I highly suggest looking elsewhere for virtual learning. But they do make sure that they communicate effectively when count days around the corner.
I been on phone with them for hours dismorning to give me the run around and saying she can’t get into my account because I didn’t know the email that was used HOW WOULD I IT WAS STOLEN, I NEVER GOT TO SEE OR CREATE THE ACCOUNT, So then I wrote online a guy called me same run around I asked for a manager no they can’t do anything that I can’t I’m like ok bull crap, we hang up another calls me SAME RUN AROUND…. How Would I know the EMAIL IF IT WAS STOLEN, Not just one tho they also said they can’t suspend it they can’t send out a new one she would not let me talk to a manager either something about my address and my account yaddy yadda……. …. IF THIS IS THE K12 FOR T-MOBILE FREE INTERNET TIL GRADUATION THEN IM NOT WRONG HERE BUT IF I AM AND THIS IS A DIFFERENT K12 then I’m sorry and I’ll take this post down

I've been trying to reach out to someone for two weeks, no response about my child being withdrawn, because she was behind in class work and attendance, because it took over a month to receive new laptop. I've sent over 15 emails and called numerous times still no response from "the only person who can help me" with getting me child back in school.
**UPDATE we are getting better communication and my mother who is the learning coach for my son is dealing with the issues the programming has for the class work. Some assignments didnt show a due date till way after it was do, or the assignment suddenly appeared. She is getting thing taken care of though.**We had my son transferred back to Insight after his first few days of high school went horribly wrong. The very first time he attended insight my mother and I had no issues with it at all. People answered phones when we would call help us and generally was great.This year...this year has been an absolute nightmare. They registered him then said we needed more proof of residency, we sent it 3x. Then trying to get his laptop, they sent the first one to Tennesee. Second one to our old address, AFTER mind you we changed our address sent PROOF! Then the updates..suddenly he is missing work that never showed up, some didnt have deadlines until the day of or after. I just got an email that he achieved the deans list with As and Bs....he doesnt have those grade. We tried multiple time fro. Beginning of the year to now to call someone no one would answer phones at office, or id get a call a day later. It seems they have my email attached to another student with same name. My son's is a common name. They have information crossed somewhere. My mother got an email stating his science stuff needed to be sent back...WHAT SCIENCE STUFF we never got any. I cant remember if it was this year or last year they had a teacher quit in middle of year, that's fine but the way they handled the work and classes was horrendous stressful and just wrong. I cant put my son in a face to face school do to issues I will not discuss and thought this was a great option. It has become a nightmare with me and my mother trying to help out as I work. Christine the Principal called i missed the call. Called back got voicemail. Please contact me to discuss this issue as it feels like my son's information is not safe at your school.

The teacher is always absent never helps and is constantly lying she is lazy as is all the staff please stay as far away as you can if you want your kid to get education.
This review only speaks to K12 Friendship Chartered School NE, Washington, DC regarding a specific teacher whise name I was asked to remove. Removing this teacher's name dies not remove her from my memory or clean up her unprofessional behavior. Her inability to communicate effectively with parents, especially those with issues regarding their children, is below par. She needs to be mandated to undergo training that will strengthen her ability to communicate professionally and exercise a level of empathy with both parents and students. Presently, she totally lacks an ounce of emotional intelligence. The sad thing is the administration retains these lack luster teachers, instead of properly dealing with them, which allow such behavior to fester like cancer. Who is left with the aftermath, parents and students. Every school is good until it's not. It would be very callous of me to give the impression that ALL teachers are corrupt at the school because they are not. Case in point,there are two wonderful teachers at Friendship but I was asked tobremove their names which doesn't diminish my opion of them. Now, you wonder why some children are so overwhelmed and many can't cope in a positive way because their complaints were not taken seriously and hidden behind bureaucratic nonsense.
Its good for school and classes but they keep updating the site and its getting worse and more confusing. Go back to the original this 2026 update is horrible. Stop trying to be minimalistic it's just confusing
Indiana digital gateway and K12 has denied my child is eligibility on his IEP to correct errors of two at autism Asperger's disorder on the eligibility as well as to exempt my child from the state testing due to epileptic seizures and as well as seizures disorder providing medical documentation since 2024 all the staff and the team at the educational side have emailed me with disrespect disregard to me as a parent and department of education has emailed me nasty remarks leaving me an option of having to possibly enroll in my child from the school due to the eligibility not being correctly autism and I'm responding to your concern of my review however sorry just a word and autism is a medical diagnosis I have received umpteen emails to hold accountability of staff members within Indiana digital gateway I'm being rude to me denying autism eligibility sending me email saying I cannot email no longer to the staff after providing the medical documentation on the outside source to show autism Asperger's disorder as well as epileptic seizures so I have record of all the emails as of today I received as of February 5th to your response I received at least nine email in responses of all the staff that were involved in the IEP meeting that were not very nice to me I also received a message from department of education that was not very nice to me either as a parent of an autistic child who is epileptic seizures I believe this is unprofessional this is uncalled for so whoever was a part of the the meeting I reached out to them to keep record and document of their responses and this is the same exact response that I received from the public school system of Northwest Indiana to the reason why I decided to try to homeschool my child thinking that this would be a different answer here I don't understand what the argument here is I don't understand what the issue here is of why they can't acknowledge outside source when I was told to go get it as a parent which shows autism all I wanted to inquire was how do I get to school to add that to the IEP so what they say is adding autism to the IEP will not make a difference why I do think that it will make a very much so difference for him and they're all cooking at their heels and not wanting to help so this is been an ongoing issue for 8 years that I just can't understand that this is happening here with a child with autism and epileptic seizures so this is the response to your review everybody says sorry this is I mean this is a response to your response to my review everybody says you're sorry but then turn around and sorry it's just a word
The absolute worst school. The admin are a joke. Half of them are not even qualified to be in the position they hold. They blame the teachers for everything. The admin make the teachers do the work the admin should be doing. They treat the teachers like they are nothing. Have heard them tell the teachers "If you don't like it we can find a replacement." They treat the good teachers that get the better scores like they are trash. I would tell anyone that wants to enroll their kids here to turn the other way and find a different school.
I love them all kids that are home schooled is through k12
This school is stupid! i turn in my assignments and magically they say there missing i hate this school also the laptops they give you are slow as could be and i even got a new one and its honestly its even slower again i hate this school and the teachers are even dumber then me don't go here unless you want unnecessary stress.
My granddaughter was taken out of school due to severe bullying and I immediately went on to the website and for almost 90 days they have repeatedly have asked us for the same docs over and over again, At almost the end of the cutoff date Jam 28th they tell us that she has been out too long, Well i wonder why, they are slow as shit and they wasted our time. I dont believe they are legit
Shady company. There’s a Gina asking me for my bank info and she seemed to be from a country where scams are coming from. She took my contract away when I ask for her name, address, phone number and all info to make sure the company was legit. She decided to ended my contract instead. Super shady company. I wouldn’t share my credit card with them.
Do not for the love of god consider this school. I joined for about two years my teachers are horrible. This year I called twice to have an address changed that I never lived at and they still have the address even when I go to my account. Last year the teacher had me call the school for an online curriculum that she had to setup and they told me to call her if I wanted to get my account set up she did the bare minimum and then I had to figure the rest out. They put me on customer support for hours and they recently changed their website so instead of talking to real people you have to talk to chat bots when most problems are with the teachers; great I can’t even transfer. Oh yeah and my senior grade is the trash due to three classes because for the love of god they couldn’t ship to my address
The teacher had an issue with my sons paper he turned in. The teacher felt a 1st grader could not know what embryo or transformation means. The teacher met with my son over the k12 chat and actually integrated him. I was listening in and she was aggressive towards my son. Instead praising him for what he did and try to explain to him her concerns, she told him how he doesn't know what these words mean and who helped him. My son froze and was very upset. The teacher told him he would receive a zero for his grade. Now! its not what you say but how you say it. Its not what you do but how you do it. I didnt respond back to the teacher instead I reached out to the principal, vice principal and assistant principal wirh no response back regarding my concern. I reached out to the executive director who said now that you disenrolled your son good luck to you both! that's it!! Not im so sorry! that's unacceptable. I reached out to the department of education. I'm waiting for a response back. The work load alone for a 1st grader is to much. The learning coach is like the teacher. The only way you can do this learning coach job is if you don't work. Now Acellus is a great private school. Its a self pace private school. You have to pay for it but way better and we'll worh it. The process are reasonable. A happy learner is a productive one. My son is so excited to learn now. Please parents think twice before enrolling in k12. I understand they have parents who are with the program, but overall it's a very stressful situation to be in.
I highly value my child’s education, and I would not recommend this school to anyone. The Assistant/Principal and teachers lack support, professionalism, and communication skills. This school system does not set your child up for success, providing instead a poor educational environment.
absolutely horrible they will give you 3 classes at the same time and i joined this school so i can have more time on assignments and less no they give you so many quizzez every week.
