Nobody wants to hear a cancer diagnosis…
Nobody wants to hear a cancer diagnosis for their furry baby - ever! But if that should occur, it sure is nice having Healthy Paws on your side. I’ve had Healthy Paws insurance for both my pups since they were puppies - they are now 11.5 & 12 y/o (BD today!). Every time I’ve had to file a claim they ALWAYS came through. And at this difficult time for my younger one, they are shining through again. He is recovering from surgery and will be undergoing a strong dose of radiation in 2 days. I’m really hoping that will be all that’s needed. Unlike other pet insurance companies, there’s no max cap with Healthy Paws. And yes, they don’t cover annual vaccinations or physical exams or monthly preventative meds, but those are expenses any pet owner should be responsible for if they’re going to be a pet owner. They do, however, cover the unexpected expenses that can cost quite a bit - diagnostics, labs, surgeries, other treatments - coverage provided for these is extremely helpful. Icing on the cake is the ease of filing a claim - submit photo of itemized invoice and Vet’s notes and that’s it. It can’t get any easier than that! Win win! And 99.9% of the time they complete the claim within a couple days - often times it’s been same day. I highly recommend Healthy Paws for your little one(s). I wouldn’t consider any other pet insurance company.

Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver...
My poodle mix, DeClan, is beautiful, funny, and loving. He has had some serious health issues. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with Addison's, which requires an expensive monthly medication. Last year in May, and again in August, he had surgery to remove bladder stones. There were complications with the August surgery, which required numerous visits to the emergency room. Just recently, we discovered he had an infection in his spine, likely due to a urinary tract infection. He will require antibiotic treatment for many months. I began using Healthy Paws about eight years ago. If I did not have their coverage, I would not be able to provide the care that DeClan needed and needs to get through his many difficult times. After submitting claims, they are quick to respond. They literally have been a lifesaver for me, for DeClan, and for my other dog.

We have had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance since our dog was just 8 weeks old. Aside from minor issues over the past 6½ years, she’s been incredibly healthy — until two weeks ago.I noticed a bright pink dot in the center of one of her rear teeth. A quick check suggested it could be a cracked tooth with visible pulp and possible abscess. Our family vet confirmed it was very likely an abscessed, cracked tooth with exposed pulp. We were able to get in with a canine dental specialist within 48 hours.The treatment required a triple root canal. We put down a $4,900 deposit the morning of the procedure and ultimately paid $5,200 out-of-pocket that day. It was stressful — both medically and financially — but everything went smoothly, and we brought our girl home that evening.I submitted the claim to Healthy Paws the next day.While I’ll be honest that my experience with phone customer service was not particularly helpful (I spoke to two representatives who referred me back to my policy for clarification), the email communication and claims process were excellent.Within 24 hours, I received an email requesting our primary vet’s information and health records, which were handled directly between Healthy Paws and our veterinarian. Within 48 hours, we received our Explanation of Benefits showing $4,500 of the $5,200 was covered. Another 48 hours later, the reimbursement was directly deposited into my bank account.We are extremely pleased with the coverage and the speed of reimbursement. When faced with a $5,000+ unexpected dental emergency, the insurance worked exactly as we hoped it would.We’ve since been contacted by other pet insurers, but based on our experience and long history with Healthy Paws, we plan to stay with them for the duration of our dog’s life.Highly recommend.

They have been a lifesaver for us! Love this company!I’d love to share how incredible Healthy Paws has been for my dogs and me. Unfortunately, both of my dogs needed surgeries—one broke her wrist and the other was hit by a car. It was a stressful time, but Healthy Paws made it so much easier. They processed every invoice quickly and made the entire reimbursement process seamless. I was able to focus on my dogs’ recovery, not paperwork. I started with Healthy Paws 11 yrs ago paying $36 a month with a $100 annual deductible and a 90% reimbursement. Over the years the monthly rate climbed to $156 pr mo. With all else remaining the same. I was recently told that as of 2026 because my dog was 11 and had cancer surgery that my plan would be changed to a monthly payment of $107 with a $500 deductible and a 70% reimbursement. They said I was no longer eligible for my previous plan. I called asking why older pets are being discriminated against and basicallyI was told too bad take this or leave it. I also asked for the 5th time why Healthy Paws doesn’t offer a senior citizen discount explaining that often older people depend on animals for companionship and want to be able to take proper care of them. I was told there is no senior discount, none is planned so I just had to expressed my disappointment at their callousness and greed. I can’t get insurance from any other company due to my dog’s previous existing conditions of allergies and now cancer. I have absolutely no respect for this company since Chubb took over and would STRONGLY advise everyone to do their homework and consider other companies. This place will raise your monthly premium at their whim without warning.In my opinion the only thing they do right is the speed with which claims are paid out. I usually receive my reimbursement within weeks. Apart from that, they are a heartless, money grabbing company that will think nothing of screwing you and in turn your beloved pets, over at any point in time.and there is absolutely no recourse you have. They literally have you by the b**** and they know it and take full advantage of squeezing every penny out of you they can get AND at the worst possible time when your pet is seriously ill and old.The only ones who end up paying the price if you are forced to drop the insurance is your pet. That’s just not right. Shame on them. I would welcome any executive from Healthy Paws to reach out to me, give me a call, and listen to concerns of not only the average pet owner but of the seniors who only want to do right by their best friends even if it means going without to provide for them. Many seniors with pets are on a very fixed income and this company couldn’t care less. I’d love to know what their CEO and CFO’s annual salary is! It’s disgraceful

I have nothing bad to say about healthy…
I have nothing bad to say about healthy paws. I’ve had them since my dogs were puppies (2019 and then 2nd policy in 2021). I have the 80/20 plan with $500/$250 deductibles and the price is still great. I’ve just submitted a tremendous bill for my dogs emergency surgery and within 2 days the money hit my account (almost $9800!). My other dog has allergies and they cover his allergy injections every month as well. They’ve processed claims as fast as same day. I recommend them to everyone I know or meet that has an animal. The one or two times I’ve had to call everyone has been helpful and friendly. I couldn’t ask for a better plan.
