First off, there is no phone number for you to contact the company. So if you have a request, you can wait 3-4 business days until they reply to your email. My last order was "created" 19 days prior to it shipping and then they told me that they can't cancel it because it was already processing. I was with them for quite a few years and I finally had enough. I had also signed my 2 daughters up. My one daughter's hair got so greasy after using their shampoo and conditioner that we're sill struggling with this issue months later. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing from them again.

Illegally Used My Credit Card
This review is not about the product itself which is just good, but it is about their illegal & unethical business practices. I was a faithful customer for at least 7 years, but when I wanted to cancel my subscription I sensed it would be a problem & I was right. So, I thought that the easy way to do it would be to just wait for the credit card they were using to expire & inform them I was canceling then. It seemed to work, but then six to twelve months later, they Illegally started using my credit card number again & sending me product. It was a HUGE hassle getting charges reversed & getting them to stop this. They would not admit they had done anything wrong. I DO NOT recommend getting involved with this company.

100 dollars for shampoo I didn't order
I used to use FoB religiously about ~4 years ago. Since then, every new order would have smaller bottles for higher prices. I cancelled my subscription long ago but kept a secondary one for my MIL. Now I've been charged FOR A THIRD TIME for my MILs subscription, even though I cancelled it 3 times already. This company is genuinely predatory. I used to pay 60 $ for a shampoo + conditioner that would last nearly 6 months, now I got charged 100 $ for a 11oz shampoo + conditioner. The last uncancellable subscription shipment before that cost 80 $, with the 20 $ price hike being neither announced or warranted.

Received NO warning before my subscription renewed after a 6 month break, emailed immediately after I was told my order had been placed (with a price increase I was unaware of) and then radio silence from the team until my order was already in the factory meaning nothing could be done. The formula was wrong and now I have lost $70! Horrendous customer support. I have been a customer for 4 years, but sadly today they have lost my loyalty!

Not worth it anymore...
I love the products, I am a customer since 2021 and my hair never felt better, however, the price just keeps growing and growing to the point where it is no longer worth it. Website has a lot of bugs, cannot change sizes myself, cannot add phone number to delivery details (I mean I can but it does not stay there), thus always missing my delivery, and when got in touch with CS (especially via email), felt no care to my issues at all. The company was so much better at the beginning, used to praise it to all my friends, I truly hope they will improve.

So so disappointed in this company
So so disappointed in this company. I made a purchase in Nov 2024, an automatic subscription charged me 40.00 more from the last purchase for the same products. I email them on the day I receive an email noticing they have taken 160.00 from my account, to change the order as I have now got colour in my hair so thought to change the type. Not allowed to make any changes to orders, what a rip off. Too expensive, terrible customer service, all automatated, please be warned they just dont care.

Overpriced! Not worth the money
I was a longtime user but they’ve gotten so much more expensive and that with smaller packaging then before! So less for more. I like the product but it’s overpriced and not much better then much cheaper brands. Also, when you skip your order they still charge you and send it like it never happened. Also I had a product that wasn’t working how is should be, and I had to fix it myself. So there’s not much service for how expensive it is. I would avoid and try alternative brands!

Like many other people here, my subscription was reactivated after cancelling. When I reached out, I was told it was essentially my fault and that they weren’t going to cancel my order. The products smell lovely but they gave me dandruff despite never having it before. I even reformulated my products so that they addressed dandruff and they made it even worse.

They don't cancel subsciptions. Password for account will no longer work and they dont do password resets to cancel subscription. Finally charging back with credit card.

I have been a customer for over three years. I received a shipment notification for an upcoming shipment and logged in to canceled my subscription. That was likely three months ago. I just received a shipment notification. I chatted with their customer service to dispute, and conveniently they have no record of my prior cancellation, and "due to the nature of the product it's non-refundable." She then gave me my tracking information! I googled this issue, and apparently I am not the only one they have done this to.

when i first got my shampoo it was amazing my hair is soo nice… but now they are charging double amount and giving less product and even if u subscribe they still charge £20 for delivery and its just extra money for nothing… sadly am leaving function of beauty bcus its not the same as it was 3 years ago… even the app is strange now so bye bye from me cus every thing about them is bad and they dont even help any more.. thts all

I asked to cancel my order right as it was placed (automatic order) and was denied because it was already processing. Not sure how it can process within minutes… anyways, after being a loyal customer for over 6 years, I would have expected a better customer service response but the interaction was so mediocre and poor. SCAM!! DON’T BUY!!! Bought a three step hair care routine for dry and oily scalp and after one use, my scalp won’t stop peeling off. I The 10% off is a scam too because if you check at the end of checkout, they charge you just the exact same amount without the 10%. Lastly, NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. They will not respond whether you live or die

Customer service is nonexistant!
The product is okay but customer service is the worst. It is impossible to contact them. I have sent three messages about a missing shipment and they just don't reply. They also seem to delete discounts AFTER you've checked out and then charge you the full price. You don't know until you've checked your email. Very dodgy company and the product quality is dropping. Not as good as when i first started with them 4 years ago. I won't be getting Function hair care products anymore.

Good product - terrible service
The product is great, so great I’ve been using it for over 3 years, my hair goals have been met and I’ve been happy. However recently it’s IMPOSSIBLE to contact customer services. They add on things to your order as a “free extra” then charge you for it, they have taken away the 10% discount for subscribers without notifying the changes, the delay order feature does not work and there’s NO way to speak to anyone.
