Look elsewhere for good pet indurance.

Embrace pet insurance will seek any possible reason to deny the service requested for your pet. I have had my veterinarians, behaviorists, and specialists communicate with them without any success. Are you interested in understanding the difference between a pre-existing condition and a congenital disorder? It may not be relevant, as they classify a congenital disorder as pre-existing if it was present before you submitted a claim. This reasoning is illogical because if the pet was born with it, they had it prior to the claim. If that justification is insufficient, they will argue that it fell within the waiting period. Once again, they were born with it. I am extremely dissatisfied with this insurance. I recommend that you explore other policies before selecting this one.

Insurance premiums for SENIOR pets increased 50% - 💯 %

February 9, 2026. My Cat Schreiver had Gingivitis and two extractions were recommended because the teeth are resorbing, which is a secondary illness. I did not want Schreiver to have dental surgery because another vet had recommended that I take Schreiver to a cardiologist. Because I did not have my cat’s two upper molars extracted, the claims adjuster, is dissecting my cat’s procedure and saying that dental cleaning is one procedure and removing gingivitis is another different procedure I verified what Prophylaxis is with AI and the claims adjuster stated that She cannot accept AI’s explanation.Yes — scaling and polishing are core parts of the standard veterinary procedure used to treat gingivitis, according to the AAHA Dental Care Guidelines and veterinary dentistry sources. Here’s the clean breakdown grounded in the search results:✔️ Scaling is part of gingivitis treatmentAAHA’s dental guidelines list supra‑ and subgingival scaling as essential steps in a professional dental cleaning and periodontal therapy. Scaling removes plaque and calculus above and below the gumline, which are the irritants that cause gingivitis A.• AAHA: “Scale the teeth supra‑ and subgingivally… removal of plaque and calculus” A• This includes ultrasonic scaling and curettage of debris in gingival pockets.Because gingivitis is inflammation caused by plaque/tartar, scaling is the therapeutic step that actually treats it.✔️ Polishing is also part of the gingivitis procedure✔️ Why both are includedGingivitis is reversible because the supporting structures are not yet destroyed. The treatment goal is to remove irritants and restore gum health.Scaling removes the cause; polishing prevents rapid recurrence.Key components of a true dental prophylaxisAAHA defines it as a procedure “performed on a healthy mouth… to prevent disease and remove plaque and calculus above and beneath the gum line under anesthesia” A.Perhaps pet owners should read Embrace Pet Insurance reviews, especially with the Better Business Bureau to see if this pet insurance is a good fit for you. I had to escalate my case to the Better Business Bureau over a measly $66.85. This is a pet insurance that will argue, argue and argue. They feel that $66.85 is worth more than a negative review. Then there was the time that my cat Allie was diagnosed with oral cancer. Embrace Pet insurance did not want to pay my claim, so they said that it was FRAUD! When Embrace Pet insurance collects premiums without having to pay out, that’s kosher. But the minute they had to pay my claim for an illness, it’s FRAUD. Did Embrace Pet Insurance pay my claim for my cat’s illness for Oral Cancer? Yes. However, it took me going to the better business bureau to get the issue resolved. Embrace Pet insurance told me that they were going to conduct a thorough investigation, And they still came up empty handed !Allow me to recommend a pet insurance company. Prudent pet insurance. They’re more expensive, but they do pay out on claims. How much more expensive? I insured 9 or 10 cats with illness and accident coverage with Embrace Pet insurance $126.00 in 2019 or 2020. Embrace pet insurance is $453.00 a month in 2026. My cat Rico’s policy was $60.00 in 2025 and was increased to $161.00 in 2026 and Rico’s policy is going to increase in 2027. This is for a $5000 policy, $200 deductible and 70/30 coverage. You do the math.I insured One senior cat with Prudent Pet insurance for a little over $100.00 - 80/20 coverage, $10,000 limit. When Mitzi was diagnosed with an illness, Prudent Pet insurance paid my claim, no questions asked.I guess with pet insurance, you get what you pay for. ---

I bought this insurance because of how…

UPDATE:My Trustpilot profile uses a nickname, which likely explains why Embrace stated they were unable to locate my account. The company does have my policy and claim information, and my claims are now currently being re-reviewed after I requested additional clarification.I am updating this review for transparency. I have asked for the specific medical record citations and policy language used to deny my claims and am still waiting for those details in writing.I also reviewed the onboarding emails I received, including my policy activation email, and did not see explicit instructions directing me to request a separate medical history pre-review.I will update again once the re-review process is complete. Thank you.I bought this insurance because of how it presents itself — “pet insurance for any situation,” fast claims processing, and financial protection when emergencies happen. When my pet had a real emergency, that was not my experience. After paying premiums for over a year, my pet required emergency ER care and life-saving treatment. The bill exceeded $8,000. I approved care believing my policy (70% reimbursement after deductible) would help carry at least some of the cost, which is exactly why I had insurance in the first place - to protect my pet.All three emergency claims were denied.Their explanation relied on broad interpretations of historical vet notes as “pre-existing,” even though there had been no prior diagnosis or indication from my veterinarian that my pet had any underlying condition that could lead to this emergency. The same medical history that allowed enrollment was later used to deny coverage when an emergency actually occurred.Adding to the frustration, my claims sat without resolution for over a month. After I began repeatedly following up, all three were reviewed and denied at once. The financial result has been severe. The reality is that being left with this level of unexpected cost directly affects what ongoing care decisions I can reasonably make for my pet.I paid for this policy in good faith so that if an emergency ever happened, my pet would be protected. When that emergency happened, the coverage I expected wasn’t there. In my experience, this company failed when it mattered most.

Worst pet insurance company ever

Worst pet insurance company ever. They will do anything possible to delay or completely not pay a claim. If anyone is interested in hiring an attorney to form a class action lawsuit please let me know.

I just got hit with a 264% increase from Embrace

I just got hit with a 264% increase from Embrace!!! I have had Embrace for my Bolognese since he was a puppy, since 2011. He is now over 15 and is still pretty healthy. The premium had been increasing as he got older, last year it was $2,260. They just sent me a renewal invoice for $8,230!!! I submitted a single claim in 2015, and was reimbursed $223.At the same time, they have not raised the maximum annual reimbursement from $10,000. Why on earth would I pay over $8,000 to be reimbursed up to $10,000, when I may not even spend $8,000 in a year?!?!This is criminal. They should have just said they aren't renewing. Waste of time. We are CA residents. I would be happy to join a lawsuit.Response to Embrace's response - why bother to write this. Increases in vet bills do not justify a three-fold increase in premiums, especially when there have been no claims in over a decade.

I am still waiting on my reimbursement…

I am still waiting on my reimbursement for a claim I placed 2 weeks ago. I called and was told it could take up to 14 "business" days to receive my reimbursement. My smaller claims in the past I received in 2-3 days, but because this is over $100 my guess is they are looking for a reason to deny it. Either way, 14 business days to receive your reimbursement is an exceptionally long time, in my opinion to wait, especially if you are on a budget.

We had a very nice experience with Embrace. After we misplaced reimbursement checks, their support team quickly checked the status, confirmed they were not deposited, and issued replacements without any hassle. Everything was handled smoothly.😄

Not user friendly

It was very easy to sign but not to file a claim. I purchased the Wellness package so I waited to have a few receipts before I filed. I had to file each one separately even though they were from the SAME vendor. They say supplement or vitamins are covered but I think Wrap a Pill should be covered because he wouldn't take any pill without it. They disagreed. I will say they told me 10-15 business days & clms were processed or denied the next day. We will see how long it takes to get the checks. That is wasteful to cut me individual checks. I feel the entire process is NOT user-friendly. I wanted to give 3.5 stars but that wouldn't work.

Absolutely furious with Embrace Pet…

Absolutely furious with Embrace Pet Insurance. I paid my premiums faithfully, thinking I was protecting my dog in case something serious happened. The moment I actually needed them for mouth surgery, they found a cracked tooth and suddenly decided that anything related to the mouth wouldn’t be covered. So let me get this straight — one cracked tooth means they can deny coverage for the entire mouth? That feels less like insurance and more like a loophole-hunting operation. This was never made clear when I signed up. If your plan basically excludes major dental work the second they find any issue, that should be front and center — not buried somewhere in fine print that only becomes relevant after you submit a claim.Insurance is supposed to be there when things go wrong. Instead, I was left with a huge bill and a company that seemed more focused on denying coverage than helping a paying customer. If you’re considering Embrace, be prepared for them to look for any technicality to avoid paying. I feel completely misled and will be reconsidering giving them another dollar.
