I had pre-paid my car rent. But when picking up car, rental company claimed they could not handle a Mastercard which both is a debit card and a credit card. Result was I was forced to pay additional for full insurance (184 Eur) paid 198 already for rental without. I claim rental deliberately used wireless on their payment device, when they should use the stick-in feature on their device to get an opportunity to select credit card payment
Got charged for roof and bonnet dents. So small unable to see unless get the light the right way. Picked up car in dark car park, returned to roof top. The inspector clearly knew the dents were there as he showed his video of picking them up.We also noted a prior review of the same car, opal, grey, being charged for same dents. They tried to claim hail or something. There was not only no hail but they are not consistent with hail damage at all. Clearly staged dents for charging customers that don't take their insurance. Multiple reviews saying same thing. Do not go with this company!
Hired car took it back company claimed I had damaged car took £453 from my credit card.Never damaged car. This uis theft
I had a terrible experience with Italy Car Rent at Malpensa Airport and would never recommend them to anyone. I was instructed by their staff to return the car to the same location (P3) where I collected it. Now they’re falsely claiming I parked in the wrong place, which is completely misleading and dishonest.The car was returned with a full tank of gas, exactly as I received it, but they are still trying to charge me for fuel. This is a completely unethical and dishonest practice. On top of that, they are charging me over €300 for a scratch that was already on the car when I picked it up. I have videos proving the damage was pre-existing, yet they’re trying to make me pay for it. This feels like a deliberate scam to charge customers for issues they already know about.To make matters worse, the first car I was given was in a dangerous condition—smoke was coming from the engine, there was a strong smell of gas, and it was making strange noises. When I reported this, the staff were rude and dismissive, showing no concern for my safety at all.Italy Car Rent’s service is unacceptable. It’s clear they are trying to make money off customers with dishonest charges and unsafe vehicles. Management and ownership need to step in and take responsibility. I refuse to pay for damages I didn’t cause and will escalate this further. Avoid this company at all costs.
I had a very bad experience with Italy Rental Car. Upon returning a car, they charged me 290 euros for a small scratch that **was already present** when I picked the car. They took advantage of the fact that I hadn't taken photos at pick-up stage (I trusted their transparency) to extort money from me! When I pointed out the inconsistency, they just told me that "I should have taken some photos", as if it were my duty to cover myself from their possible scams.I can't help but think this was a deliberate attempt to **defraud** customers. It is shameful that a company can operate this way. If you are looking for a car rental, avoid **Italy Rental Car**: they are **fraudulent at best, and dishonest at worst**.
I want to warn people about Renting a car with RM Cars in italy. My son was getting married in Rome. I rented a Range Rover so l could take my son to the church. Firstly when l arrived they said they didn't have a Range rover, they gave me a Peugot which of course wasn;t near as nice as the Rover. When l returned the car, everything was OK and signed off. This was on 1st June 2024. It has taken until 10th October 2024 before they returned my deposit. I had to go threw my Bank to get the deposit back. This has taken several months of emails and sending detail to both the car rental company and my bank. Between getting the wrong car and having to fight to get my deposit back l would not recommend renting a car with this company.
Received a separate email response from Car Rent Italy relating to just the Sat Nav issue. No mention of the insurance scam or not choosing to recognise a genuine credit card. The response I received was along the lines of they would do nothing s I hadn’t informed them of the problem whilst I had the rented car.,When I was first given the Tom Tom Sat Nav I was told it had low charge and would need a re-charging later. 20 minutes into my journey the system went dead. I managed to drive the remaining hour of my first journey and the hotel I was going to without the Sat Nav. I contacted the car rental company from my hotel but received no response. When returning the vehicle a few days later I was told by one of their staff in the drop off garage to send a reminder so that a refund could be processed. They have now refused to do anything. I feel as if I’ve been the victim of a partial scam and sham. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Plenty of other options out there.
I do not have a credit card so the charged an extra €286 on top of what I had already paid. Rude staff female member of staff almost horizontal in her chair. Absolutely no customer service
Waiting for 3 hours long to then hear we can’t take the car with us because we dont have a credit card with us only online.Slowest service around here.
Disgusting and rude personal,Just a scamming company, I never had any problems before with any other company, but with this it's just unreal. Glaiming some scratches as a damage which I never done, and it doesn't even look like scratch. Be careful and take loads of pictures before you take or I would recommend stay away if you don't want to pay any extra in the end because they are not human and would find a way how to get money of you!
Traveling helps to gain more knowledge by visiting new historical places and cities. My children learnt a lot from our trip to Rome last month. For ease of traveling, I hired a car from carsrentalitaly.com at an affordable price. I would like to hire from them again.
Thanks once again for making such a wonderful vacation with car rental. There were number of hiring options available. But finding one so as to accommodate within our budget was really a tedious task. All credit went to carsrentalItaly.com. We got what we wanted.
