Belkin turned off wemo app support without contacting users

So Belkin have turned off app support for the Wemo products at end of Jan 2026. That is Rubbish treatment of customers because doing this without contacting customers by email to warn us in advance, when the app relied on the customer providing our email address for login credentials.Seems arrogant and dissmissive. They used to be my preferred brand for lots of kit, but i won't be buying anything else!

Beklkin (WEMO) - a failure of a company!

A few years ago I purchased over 10 WEMO devices for my home. It was a rough ride with this company over the years and I see they finally deserted the smart plug market. Probably cost me ~$3,000, between purchase, installation, repurchase and reinstallation. Will go out of my way NOT to purchase ANY product with the Belklin name on it in the future!

Beklkin (WEMO) - a failure of a company!

The worst of the worst companies

Here's the message I wrote to Belkin,Just to let you know, your defective product is sent for return. RMA # XXXXXXXXXXThis is one of the worst experiences I've had dealing with a company.Not only is your product defective, but your product support is nearly non-existent.I was trying to get help through chat, but your return responses are no faster than 10 minutes each. When I finally do get a response, I have to reply immediately, or you go away, and the chat gets shut down. This is a horrible experience! This took half my day yesterday trying to get help from your company! I tried to call phone support, but was on hold for a half an hour and gave up. No luck there either.You charged 35.99 for the item, plus 7.95 shipping and 4.00 tax. I just had to pay $ 14.61 to return the item because you don't pay for shipping to send or return, and you don't even supply a return label. So I paid a total of 60.75 for your defective product, and I'm apparently getting back 34.19Bottom line: it cost me 26.56 to gamble on your product, so I lost money and a lot of time.You'll see my review on Trustpilot.

Law Breaking Crooks

Crooks! Bought a faulty magnetic charger for £50 direct from their website. Asked for replacement within 2 weeks as son in law was going abroad. They said it would take longer so I asked for a refund since o could get the same one in Argos that day. I sent it back, they said I had to pay postage which is wrong but I paid it anyway. They received it then sent me an email saying they’re not refunding me, only send me a replacement but I’d already got one from Argos. I reminded them of my consumer rights of a full refund within 30 days and they’ve ignored me ever since. It’s been 6 weeks since I returned it and absolutely nothing!!! Just now I contacted my bank, sent them screenshots and Chase Bank did a “cash return” for me and refunded my money. I bought direct from Belkin thinking it would be better but honestly 6 weeks of playing run around is insulting. If I had bought from Argos originally I would have had a refund or replacement that day. I will NEVER buy from this thieving company again and NEVER will I buy any of their products either. Best avoided.

Avoid at all costs, both product and customer care-wise.

So, I already posted a review about my negative experience with their screen protectors already, little did I knew that It was just the tip of the iceberg.It’s been over a month now, I had opened a RMA (RMA1554492) and asked for a refund because they were not able to honor their warranty.I went through their customer service multiple times just to get the same preset AI generated answers: they said they escalated my case and sent It to the appropriate team multiple times but no one even dared to send me an email.Even worse, I wanted to take matters in my own hands this time and asked for a legal email or contact to get in touch with corporate: I was denied It.Not only they are not capable of providing proper customer care and honor their warranty for their overpriced product, but they are also denying my right as a customer to get legally in touch with them.I am appalled by this situation and I truly recommend you stay away from this brand.

Very, very bad experience.I bought a phone at Apple and they recommended this screen protector. They claimed it was so durable that it would never break.However, at the time of purchase, the staff did not tell me that I had to: 1. Keep the receipt 2. Keep the serial number of the screen protectorWhen I came back to replace the glass, as I was told at Apple, no one mentioned that I was supposed to contact Belkin directly — which is strange, because I bought the screen protector from the retailer. Logically, the replacement should also be handled through them.In the end, I was told: “We don’t know anything, we are not obliged to inform you how the replacement process works, and we have nothing to do with it.”The glass cost £35. It cracked very quickly. Still, I bought it again. This time I specifically asked what exactly I needed to keep for a replacement. I was told: “Only the serial number.”Eventually, customer service refused the replacement because I didn’t have the RECEIPT — even though I provided the purchase date, the serial number, and photos of the broken glass!!!This is just awful. Why does Apple push these screen protectors that are absolutely not worth the money? And why doesn’t the manufacturer clearly state on the packaging what the customer must keep?Honestly — it’s a disgrace. Do not buy these screen protectors.

I bought a screen protector

I bought a screen protector. It cracked in a week. I emailed belkin with my receipt and screen shot of the cracked merchandise. They never replied. I dont know how they can sell such crappy products in major retailers. Do not buy belkin products!!!

Charging pad stopped working and support is unresponsive

The lower charging pad on my Belkin wireless charger (the section intended for headphones) stopped working. I understand that any product can have a defect, but what disappoints me most is the customer support: I contacted Belkin and received only an automated confirmation that my request was registered. It has now been almost two weeks without a meaningful reply or a replacement process.This is also not my first issue with Belkin. My Belkin portable wireless charger for iPhone also stopped working after about a year of relatively light use. Because of repeated failures and slow support, I’m unlikely to buy Belkin products again. In my experience, even lower-priced brands have offered better reliability and service. Case Number 18044257updated: I've update the review from 1 to 3 stars because they answered me and sent new one wireless charger. But the process itself took 1.5 month - longer than I expected.
