AVOID BEDFORD BMW

AWFUL customer service, everyone seems braindead and not wanting to help customers. Looks like they are just there trying to make it till 5pm so they can finish there shift and go home. Paid £400 on something that never needed fixing on my car, I came back the next morning with the same issue and was told I cant get a refund as the work has already been carried out. I was at a loss and had to go elsewhere to get my car fixed!

I have tried to get an estimate for body works for my car . The appointments for taking photos was held in September but no communication regarding the quote or work schedule until now . I’m now forced to find another bodywork shop.

AWFUL customer service

AWFUL customer service, and mis selling products.I was sold a BMW IX M60 with panoramic rooftop, but the car has not got the specifications I was told over the phone. They record the conversations without informing you, but they do not willing to share your recordings. AVOID this place

I tried to buy a car from Group 1 BMW…

I tried to buy a car from Group 1 BMW but due to extremely poor communication by a sales team member the car I thought I had bought was sold to someone else. I found the sales person I dealt with to be completely unprofessional. He needs to remember that to offer a good customer service experience communication is key. I complained after my experience and was assured that the company had an excellent record for customer service and they would endeavour to find me a car which matched the specification of the car I thought I had purchased. I’ve had one email since saying sorry haven’t found a car yet. Guess I’ve been forgotten now! I do not recommend Group 1 BMW in Bedfordshire

Avoid!!!

Avoid!!!Had a repair done at the end of 2022 and I kept it quiet from the public until now. Had an issue with battery drain. They have diagnosed faulty ECU which in their opinion was 100% fix. £1500 down the drain. Not only that. They have not connected everything correctly and returned the car with even more issues.Left the feedback and nobody has ever bothered to contact me.Recently went to parts department to buy a fuel pump. Been waiting over 20 minutes while all desks empty. Nobody has bothered to see me.Im considering moving to the other brand if thats how BMW treats their customers and have such unskilled staff.

I didn’t get off to the best start with…

I didn’t get off to the best start with my service for my mini, at the time of booking I was quoted a price and then on the morning when I dropped the car off I got a phone call to say that the service was going to be double the price, I needed to get the work done as I was due to sell the car. That evening I contacted the head of the department Alex Kennedy who has completely changed my view, this original was going to be a negative review but I have never met someone so understanding and who actually puts themself in the customers position and wants to rectify the issue. Alex despite other circumstances he was facing continually kept me informed of what was happening and was very empathetic and caring.

On the morning of Friday 12th August…

On the morning of Friday 12th August 2022, I called Barons BMW Bedford to query a payment they had charged me. The receptionist said that no-one was available but someone would call me later that day. I received no such call back. On the morning of Monday 15th August 2022, I called again and complained that no-one had called me and that I expected a call back when told that I would get one. The receptionist apologised and said that she would pass on the message and someone would call me back later that day. It was not a surprise to me that, again, no-one bothered to return my call. BMW advertise that their cars are the "Ultimate Driving Machine" which is more that can be said about the drive of their Customer Services Department.

POOR SECOND RATE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Having moved to Bedford area we chose Barons Bedford as most convenient. Servicing was fine with no issues or cause for concern, after an incident With a dear a trip to there body shop was required for a front end rebuild. Got the car back and to my shock the front bumper was a different colour to the wings and bonnet, the cars white so you would think not to hard to match, a trip back and another coat of paint later …. Better but still noticeable. Eventually are new Pro tourer arrived and after three weeks of ownership some git smacked the wing mirror and broke the bottom cap, called parts and was given a price of £26 for the part and they passed to the service desk where I was quoted £44 supplied and fitted. Great until a call back to say they had got the price wrong and it was now a tad under £400 supplied and fitted , you can only imagine my response *#¥$%, went back to specialist cars Hitchin body shop same repair £150. Barron’s customer service was appalling on this occasion and although inconvenient I will not be returning. AVOID

Never again

Never again. Avoid. Twice bitten by these crooks, and after our fifth new car. Absolutely no idea on how to treat a repeat customer.Leased me my 'last' car as a new one after it had been (unbeknown to me) at the docks for over a year. Car itself began asking for services (prematurely I thought) a year earlier than normal, and they expected me to pay for them, two sets in the three years I would have owned it, instead of one set it would have normally required. Crooks. And then when I attempted to surrender it early for a new car, 'they' told me it was four years old, and not three, and proceeded to undervalue it!!? Crooks. They had their opportunity to address this but decided to take their 'back street' garage attitude. No problem. Voted with my feet.Lancaster BMW Milton Keynes instead, and VW Vindis, no such problems...

Th Barons Bedford dealership and…

Th Barons Bedford dealership and service centre has restored my faith in BMW, which was tested by another location that shall remain nameless.I had what I thought would be a difficult situation, but it was no trouble at all. I have a rescue dog that can't be left alone at home for longer periods, but the person I dealt with in the dealership was so kind and helpful, letting me take the dog with me when checking in, picking up and we had a nice chat about dogs too. Unfortunately i didn't note down her name, but it was the dark-haired lady at front of house on the morning of 18th Aug. She was also able to offer some great advice about where to take my dog to walk while i waited, if i didn't want to sit indoors. In addition, the service was excellent. Living in the countryside with dogs means that my car isn't the cleanest (embarrassingly so), however the car was returned nicely cleaned. The video produced by the technician/mechanic was clear and informative and at no point did i feel like i was being sold unnecessary extras.I'll keep coming back to this dealer for servicing and, when the time comes up get a new personal car or buy for business, then i'll be coming back here.I actually had a similar good experience the previous time at this branch, but i felt that i should write a review now as this time was even better.

Do not put a deposit on a BMW before purchase.

Barons BMW took a deposit on a used car they had on their website. We negotiated our trade in with the sales department and we thought we had confirmed the sale. The next day we were informed that the car we had put a deposit on (and agreed trade-in) had been sold “in-group” and was no longer available. We have yet to get our deposit back despite numerous calls and assurances. Another car (that was not suitable) was offered. This deposit issue is not limited to Barons BMW - and must be an issue with BMW as a whole, because in again looking for the type of car we wanted - we found a replacement car at Sandal BMW Huddersfield - again placed a deposit on the vehicle - which again after discussion and agreement on our part exchange - turned out to have been sold just hours before, and whilst we had it reserved. 5 days later and we still do not have that deposit refunded either. Interestingly, after this - both cars were still showing for sale on the BMW UK “approved used” website and on the dealer pages too.BMW UK Used Car sales process needs a complete overhaul.
