Notes from a very happy longtime customer
I have worked with Artistic Nippon for many years, and without exception, its products and services have been one of the joys of my life. Toru san, the proprietor of the enterprise, has a fine aesthetic sense, as is abundantly clear from the inventory he offers. But just as importantly, he is attentive and helpful, competent and kind. In my experience with online businesses, many proprietors take advantage of the absence of face-to-face contact with their customers to misrepresent the value or quality of their products. Toru san is the extreme opposite of that; he carefully chooses the distinguished artisans with whom he works, stands behind the items he sells, is prompt in his communications with online customers, and goes to great lengths to ensure their satisfaction with their purchases. Over the years, I have broken a teapot or cup (or two!) that I have purchased from him, but never has that been the result of shoddy workmanship. Rather, the use of natural materials and the delicate artistry of the craftsmen result in products that are not merely "utilitarian" but also (as the name of Toru san's business implies), artistic. And that is why it is such a pleasure to have these objects in one's home. Making a cup of tea becomes a calming ritual, a moment to share a with a friend, or with nature. It is always my favorite part of the day. Thank you, Toru san.
