My husband and I own a Thor Chateau RV and we are very sorry that we ever got involved with American Dream Vacations.
My husband and I own a Thor Chateau RV, 2023, that is rented out for us by American Dream Vacations. We have been trying to retrieve it and cancel our contract, but with no success. We have had to verbally argue with Felicia Torres over the monies owed to us for the rentals. Our RV broke down in June 2025. According to the shop it was towed to, it has been ready to be brought back to Albuquerque from TX in August 2025, and the problem was a loose hose that just needed to be tightened. We have not been able to reach Felicia by any means possible to resolve this issue and cancel our contract. The company that "fixed" our RV says it has been ready for pickup since August. They have not been able to reach Felicia regarding completing this repair and picking up the RV and getting it back to Albuquerque. I don't feel our RV has been properly maintained for at least the past year or so. We have gone into the office and spoke with Felicia who admitted that she owed us money after we dissected our statements with her. We received a check from her for 3 months that we were not paid. There were also insurance claims that were never submitted by Felicia. I personally know other renters that are fighting in the same way. We've tried everything to resolve these issues but are still fighting with Felicia, IF and WHEN we could reach her. Our RV has just over 30K miles and we have had to replace ALL of the tires twice already. There are charges that we don't understand and can't get explanations for. Our RV was brand new off the lot and immediately into our contract with American Dream Vacations, yet they have billed us for repairing drawers, doors, wallpaper, leaks, drawer handles, you name it. We either bought a lemon, or we are getting the runaround in every way possible. I would not recommend anyone use their services, and if you do, prepare yourself for a very negative experience. I know others that are renting out their RV's through American Dream Vacations too, who are having the same problems we are, so this is not a one off. Save yourself the hassle and stress of fighting with this company.

Extremely Disappointing Experience
We’ve rented from American Dream Vacations in Albuquerque before, but this was by far the worst experience—and it will be our last. The trailer fridge didn’t work when we loaded groceries. They offered to meet us to fix it, but we had already left. Then the propane system failed, forcing us to leave camp for hours to buy a stove just to cook. They said they’d reimburse us, but after four weeks and several emails, we had to drive across town and pick up the stove, and return it ourselves for a refund. It’s unacceptable to rent out trailers that aren’t functioning properly and then ignore your customers afterward. Avoid this company.

😤 Booking Issues and Broken Promises
⭐ Rental Experience in May 2025 – Disappointed: We rented two cars—one in Miami and one in Tampa—and made a down payment that was supposed to be deducted from the final rental cost. Unfortunately, when we picked up the vehicles, the staff had no record of the deposit and charged us the full amount again. They assured us the duplicate charge would be refunded, but two months have passed and we’ve received neither the money nor any updates. Really disappointing service, especially given how straightforward the rental was supposed to be.

Don’t believe a word they say
pageDuring check out **** didnt bother to verify the fuel, took a picture of almost full tank, claimed the vehicle was inspected during make ready for check out, I noticed the power cord was missing. Went through the quick how to orientation and was sent on my way. The ** was shaking violently, I assumed because of all the construction. I make it home and thoroughly inspect the tires. Find driver side steer tire scalloped causing the problem. Call them and send photos of damaged tire. They send to a hole in the wall tire shop, after stating they are waiting for me, have no clue what I wanted and have no tires that size. Let them know the situation and then get a response from the manager ******************* , who then ask if they can move a back tire to the front, then he said the mechanic told him its normal for a tire to be like that and it will be OK, I'm explained they are not the same tires and explained i have my CDL over 10 years and none of this is OK, I finally find a shop with the tire and have it replaced at my cost because apparently they closed out my contract , tire shop stated I was lucky it didnt blow out. Finally make it home and find the breaker for the A/C tripped so I cant run both A/C units. To 150 mile trip the A/C never cooled below 85/86 degrees and we traveled at night. During trip drove over mildly bumpy road and I could only go 40/45 mph in a 70 mph. Finally get to our site make the connection to 50amp service and both A/C units running to find front A/C will only go to 80 degrees. Call the supposed 800 number to be told take it to a shop. Next day we **** it up because its Sunday and no shop is open, well at 10:30 at night the rear A/C stops working due to a bad sensor reading its 30 degrees and wont turn on. We decided this isnt worth it and return home. Cut our trip short 4 days and return the **. In the end I know they lied about any inspections because the state inspection was past due since 4/2024. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE.**ll ongoing issue with this ADV, I returned the vehicle on June 18 due to A/C problems and was accepted and no concern to make any repairs so I can keep the rental going. On July 2 I contacted ***** thru text message and here is EXACT conversation: ME: ***** this ************** returned 5154 on June 18, checking on status of reimbursement. ADV: ** responded to your BBB complaint; I will formally give you another response as well soon. ME. The tire reimbursement should not be part of that, it's past the 10 days already. (tire was purchased on June 15, 2024). ADV: ** are going to definitely reimburse you back for the tire you purchased and of course your damage deposit. Per contract you had booked out till the 22nd of June it has not been 10 business day per our contract and signed agreement. It is also July 4th Holiday week. ** appreciate your patience. As per their own contract under MOTORHOMES. Section A. Refunds will me made within 10 business days from the date of check-in provided there is no damage to vehicle. This vehicle was checked in June 18,2024 and accepted by ADV with only a form for reimbursement given to me. These are the poor business practices that this place has adopted to be norm.

DONT RENT
DONT RENT! Please use this as a warning! Horrible! Where do I even begin? If there was everything that could've gone wrong it did 16 hours away from home in the mountains in the middle of no where with my young children, husband and I. ***This was our BIGGEST ISSUE. Where you connect your water, it began to FLOOD the entire RV, I didn't have enough towels to clean the flooding. I wasn't sure what we were going to do. We must've called the person in charge 5 times a day and every time he guided us, with no solution. We were just so desperate for water in our RV. And when we used the little bit of water before we realized it was beginning to flood, underneath the sink had a leak also! Park ranger did everything he could to help us, because at first we didn't even realize it was flood. He had to knock on the RV to notify something was wrong with it. Smaller issues:1. prices aren't accurate on website the optional charges on the website, after you pay the deposit they tell you it's actually mandatory. Which I was able to move forward from and we still rented a week. 2. The heater in the front of the RV doesn't work so be ready for it to fog up and you have no way of seeing out your windows, ANY OF THEM. 3. Nonetheless the side mirror that was broken it wasn't even useable. Which for a first time driving these massive things it can be scary.4. Showers didn't work due to lack of water5. Heater didn't work due to propane being empty.Happy New Year to us! Please people reading this, I HIGHLY recommend trying a different company that may work with you better after your experience and accommodate you more than a days worth of a rental, when you had issues the entire week, spending hours on attempting to clean and fix. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Please please please, take my review as not someone just looking to write a poor review, but it was truly miserable, and they don't compensate worth making up for. And it's a shame because the people in there are soooo nice it was so difficult to be frustrated with them. But paying over $2,700 PLUS the $1500 damage fee. All you get compensated is $290???? Absolutely not. They will tell you they've corrected everything as they told me about a poor review they had and "corrected it."

Do Not Trust These People
We rented out our new RV with the Houston store, and they totally ruined our slide out. We had to take it and get it fixed by the dealership. The ADV people assured us that they could fix the slide out but just messed it up badly. Even a renter noted how when the company was out there to “fix” the problem, they were just clueless. This is in addition to their poor accounting skills. I wouldn’t trust them to rent out my bike.

Bad experience
I was an owner who placed my RV with this company. Definitely a mistake. Over $5000 worth of damage due to lack of inspection and maintenance. Attempts to reach both the Denton, Tex location and corporate headquarters have been ignored. Never received a final statement or rental proceeds for the last month the unit was with them. Really regret my decision to do business with ADV.

RUN AWAY!!
RUN AWAY!!! dishonest, all show, no go. more worried about the tires looking good than the brakes working! Almost had a terrible accident in rush hour traffic discovering that the brakes don't work (vacuum assist was disconnected!). Stated "I will try to convince you not to purchase with my evaluation of the unit", but it was all superficial. Looks, not systems working properly was the evaluation. Took 2 months to get the title. very shady, and highly NOT recommended. The seller thought we were arriving Saturday, but the plan all along was to arrive Friday via airline, and the scheduled was emailed to him. When we arrived in Austin he had his secretary/comptroller pick us up, but took us out for lunch rather than to the dealership, as his team prepared the motorhome for viewing. We PAID for a 50-point 'inspection', but never saw the results of that, and they obviously missed that the 'house' battery wouldn't hold a charge (now replaced). Yes, offered a test drive, but by that time we were several hours late leaving Austin trying to get to Grapevine before dark, and trying to miss rush hour traffic in Fort Worth. Their delays prevented both. We had a 1600 mile drive home, and had a very tight timeline, but Kurt doesn't read his emails well. How do you drive a unit from Freightliner to your dealership and NOT notice the brakes don't work properly??? and then deliver that to us? Invited back? From where? Grapevine? South Dakota? and the only offer you gave me via email was to sell the unit for us, for obviously another commission. No questions to answer, just 'warmest regards', and your phone doesn't work either. But how would that work with the RV in SD, and you in Austin??? No, I would not deliver. Unit was not winterized and several pipes have now broken, even though we had it professionally 'winterized when we got home. My brother and I emptied the fresh water tank in Grapevine. How is a vehicle w/o brakes 'safe and up to par', especially in rush hour traffic. I still have nightmares. Horrible customer service. Focus on your customers needs, not the commission.

RV had damaged water tank which was not discovered until the next morning. 5 adults spent three days and nights without any water, washing or toilet facilities. Wasted 1 day and 1 night of our holiday undergoing repairs. Only compensation was a refund of one day rental. Nothing for the inconvenience or upset. Travelled from England for this holiday and it is NOT a good advertisement for your country. Will Not be using this company again and will warn anyone else against using them. We do have friends in the U. S. and they will also warn against using this firm.

I had a decent experience until I brought the trailer back and was accused of swapping out propane tanks. I assured them it didn't happen but they didn't believe me and wouldn't let it go. Just by luck, I took a picture of the trailer and my truck when I was leaving that showed the original propane tank matching what I brought back, otherwise I would've been out honest money because of their incompetence! Turns out they rented out a trailer with a propane tank that was 10 YEARS past it's certified life. VERY scummy situation. They didn't offer anything for my trouble or to make me happy, so I will never go back and I haven't been quiet about telling friends about what happened, screw em!

First time RV renters.
Louis and Trenton were very helpful and professional. They walked me through every detail and function of the RV. The RV drove great and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Hats off to your employees. We will return!

Fake Customer Service and lies
Trailer had issues, only 28,000 miles on it. Got a flat. Took over a month to process our deposit. Was told, “we’ll work with you on the extra day since we were late on your pick up” They paid for the tire repair, but didn’t give us anything back on the deposit. They charged us full price on the “extra day” and the guy that called acted like he didn’t know anything. You talk to 4+ guys and they all don’t know what the next said. I then get a call back the following day to nickel and dime me for $26 dollars after a toll. I even tried helping them with reviews. I’ll be jumping back on their site and fb now to reassess my review after they only returned $200 of my deposit after all the patience i had w their crap! They acted as if the road side service was a shock. They didn’t even carry the size wheel we needed. We had to pay out of pocket and wait “10 days” that actually took 30 f n days. F these guys.

American Dream Vacations deceitful business practices
American Dream Vacations is now claiming that a window blind over the dining table was damaged during our rental. I pointed out that the blind was not working when I returned the vehicle with no other damage and had not been working since we picked up the vehicle. It appears they may be employing a business tactic of charging rental customers damage deposits for normal wear and tear of vehicles in an effort to make maintenance improvements at rental customers expense.

Renting an RV
Sue and Tony are very nice and made the whole RV rental experience a pleasure. They act as agents for private owners willing to share their RV's.

American Dream Vacations always comes through for us when it comes to our summer rental travel trailer. 5 years in a row and we keep coming back. Bob & Caroline Torrez

We loved the camper, not the beds.
We loved the camper and the ease of the rental. Our needs were well served. Next time I will bring a thicker matthess for all of the beds and we needed a level and blocks to support the camper properly. Drop off was not well explained and it was not simple. I was glad we had experience with campers previously. We will rent again!
