If you've never been to South America and want a worthwhile, organized, affordable experience to start, this is for you!
My trip to South America, particularly Bolivia, with the guidance of Visit South America was a tremendous experience! The company creates a travel package and organizes/books everything for you for a very reasonable, fixed price. This means that your stays, flights, destinations, means of transportation in between, and even a few of your meals throughout your journey are all set. They are also very flexible: if you choose not to participate in an experience, or if you want to add one that you later find that interests you, they can accommodate and adjust to your needs and schedule as they see fits. They are communicative and available pretty much 24/7 for any questions or concerns that you have, and they do their best to troubleshoot on your behalf should any issues arise. What also stood out to me is that at no point did they try to coax you into anything that was potentially unsafe or uncomfortable just to get extra money of the travelers. They are honest in their intentions to provide the best, most efficient experience for you. Would highly recommend this experience for any travelers making their first journey to South America!!

It was a fun experience
I was lucky to join a great and fun group of people so it was a fun experience. We were lucky that we had a brand new car so there were no issues during the trip. The first night was spent in a brand new motel with all the amenities. The second night was in a bigger hotel and it was just ok. The food was basic so don’t expect too much. If you’re a picky eater bring some snacks so you can have something to eat. The driver was friendly and knowledgeable but he didn’t speak any English but we had somebody in our group who was able to translate for us. It was an overall good experience please make sure you’re adjusted to high altitude, you can get very sick and the whole trip it’s in a remote area, discuss with your doctor about medication to help you to adjust to high altitude.

We had a wonderful experience with Visit South America! We appreciated their professionalism and top-class service, and would highly recommend them to anyone heading to South America.Our tour coordinator, Kevin planned for us an incredible 11D private tour to Peru and Bolivia. He was patient in dealing with our questions and gave excellent recommendations. Before the trip, Kevin organized a briefing, ensuring that we were well-prepared for our holiday. It was much appreciated for first-time visitors to South America like us.For the entire trip, the VSA crew took very good care of us. Kevin's recommendations were spot-on - we loved every aspect of the holiday! The local guides and drivers were engaging, responsible, and ensured our comfort throughout the trip. Special shout-outs to our guides and drivers in Peru (Eduardo and William) and Bolivia (Andrew, David, Ronaldo and Boris) - they left a deep impression on us for their rich local knowledge, thoughtfulness and friendship.We did however meet with an unfortunate situation in Bolivia when the airline cancelled our flight to Uyuni. VSA (special thanks to Jeff and Sergio) was very responsive to the situation, mitigated our inconvenience as best as they could, and made efforts to adjust our itinerary, ensuring we still had a complete experience in Uyuni. Even after our tour, Kevin continued corresponding with us regularly to check on us and support our insurance claims back home.

We have now booked two trips with Visit South America and both experiences were outstanding.Our first trip was a ten day journey through Bolivia where the team even helped organize a surprise proposal which made the experience unforgettable. Most recently we returned from Rio de Janeiro Brazil and once again everything ran smoothly from start to finish.One thing that truly sets Visit South America apart is the quality of their guides. A great destination can easily be impacted by a poor guide but that has never been our experience here. Every guide we have had has been professional knowledgeable friendly and fluent in English which made a huge difference.On our Brazil trip transportation hotels and activities were all perfectly coordinated and met or exceeded our expectations. When I had a stomach bug one morning our guide went above and beyond by stopping at a pharmacy at six in the morning and buying medicine for me out of his own pocket which we reimbursed later. That level of care really stood out.We will absolutely continue booking with Visit South America whenever we travel in South America. If you are considering different tour companies we highly recommend choosing them.

2 days tour Atacama to Uyuni
We had an incredible two day tour. The moment we took contact with the team we felt we were in good hands : communication was smooth and swift, Maggie understood our wishes for this tour and made everything to make us happy. Considering the short notice we really appreciated it. The guide Juan and the driver Jesus were very nice. Juan is very knowledgeable and we were very happy to have him with us. Jesus is an excellent driver and adapted to our needs. We did everything that we were supposed to do and Juan and Jesus did their best to find the perfect spots for sunrise, lunch and sunset. The only thing that was a bit stressful, I think due to lack of communication, was the transfer from Atacama to the border. We were told it is a shared transfer but didn’t know we had to change vehicle to go on a bigger one and wait 1h at the border. After crossing the border it was unclear if the guides were already waiting for us or if we had to wait in the van. Thankfully we found them quickly and everything was perfect from then. After the tour ended, Jeff helped us find alternative transportation to La Paz (due to roads blocks all over the country), he did an amazing job handling such a complicated situation. Our drivers, Javier and his son, were amazing : so professionnal and friendly.

Dreamy trip across Chile and Bolivia
Visit South America planned our trip across Chile and Bolivia and it was all excellent. In Chile we visited the Atacama desert, which was beautiful. They also did a little birthday surprise for us. Bolivia was also great , our guide Juan was incredible and knowledgeable and our driver Boris was so attentive and kind. Our activities in Patagonia were also planned by Visit South America, the hikes were great and our Estancia visit was gorgeous. We have always dreamed of visiting Torres Del Paine. We decided to book the adventure through VSA and no regrets! We went for the Wtrek. Everything was so organized and communication was excellent. The 3 days tour has been an amazing experience!! Such an incredibile nature, landscape, silence…. The Salar, the lacoons, the desert…Hard to find places like those anymore. Our guide, Alejandro, was super professional, friendly and well prepared. He made it fun with excellence! Atacama to Uyuni 4 days tour
My boyfriend and I did the 4 day round trip Atacama to Uyuni tour last week and it was a wonderful time! Bolivia is such a beautiful country. We were very happy during the entire tour. The only suggestion is to maybe start to train the drivers to speak in English. The driver spoke very little English but after we did research we found that no tours from Atacama to Uyuni have an English guide included. It is only for the tours starting in Uyuni. So it was a little hard communicating but thankfully other travelers in our group spoke Spanish and English so they helped :) Thank you for the team at Visit South America for helping with all our questions and helping us make a trip to remember!

Fantastic trip in thr Bolivian Salt flats and beyond
I had a great time on the 3 day Salar de Uyuni tour. The variety of places ranging from salt flats, deserts, rock formations, flamingo lagoons, vulcanos and hot springs made this trip memorable. Organisation by VSA was great and our guide Alejandro took good care of us, was very personable and is a master of photography! One idea for improvement, Alejandro did not speak English which was great for me to practice my Spanish but this might be difficult for other guests.

Shared 3 Day Uyuni tour was excellent!
I had a great time on the 3 day salar de uyuni tour with Visit South America! I’m a solo traveler and had done a previous tour with them in Brasil and so decided to book with them again in Bolivia. It was a great choice because they paired me with other travelers and we turned out to be a 6 person group exploring the desert and finally ending in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. The entire team was very helpful and supportive. They picked me up from the airport, took me to a cafe, and then we started the trip at 10:30am. The accommodations are very rustic and humble (due to being so remote and in the middle of nowhere) but the landscapes and views are amazing! It makes it very worth it. Our group was super fun and ended up making new friends. Thank you for a the great trip!

My friends and I did a private tour of Rio which included sunrise at Dona Marta, Cristo, and also got to visit the Rocinha favela. It was a great experience start to finish and our guide Marco was incredible. Thank you for a very memorable day exploring this beautiful city! The wake up call is a little early but it’s super worth it for the photos and insane views you’ll see :)
