Super snowblower !
Super snowblower !When I bought it, I wasn't sure about the Ariens marketing video where the lady was blowing an inch of snow. I must admit that you can have as much as snow you want with this incredible snowblower.

On first impression
On first impression, I'm giving a huge thumbs up on my EGO Power+ 24" self propelled 2 stage snowblower. The snowblower arrived well packaged and was easy to unbox and unpack. The assembly is quite simple and took under 10 minutes, I just needed to attach the chute and the handle assembly, with easy manipulate locking knobs. The batteries took about 20 minutes to charge and the snowblower started right up with the push of a button, so much easier than struggling with the choke and throttle of our old gas powered snowblower. The operation of the snowblower is incredibly simple.

WHen it works
WHen it works, it's greatI think I've finally figured out not to use treated fuel. I had some stabilized fuel in a can from two months ago and tried it out in our first big snowstorm. It died halfway through and at the bottom of my driveway's hill. Had to drag it back up the hill and finish clearing with a shovel.Last year I had similar issues with it dying or only running with the choke full open. Thought it was the carb like everyone says but it was pristine (should be, it's brand new), even sprayed the carb with cleaner but that didn't do it. Draining the fuel and replacing with totally fresh seems to work. Just sucks to have to go buy a quarter gallon of gas when I think it might snow.

A so-so experience
A so-so experienceI found the ergonomics to be very good. However the down time due to the ease of breakage of the impellers shear pins gives this blower is a big downside. If your run into any debris like hoses, doormats or ice you can expect to replace at least (1) impeller shear pin. I opted for 1/4-20 x 11/2" thread bolts with nylon locknuts in lieu of the shear pins, they will still shear but not as often and they are far cheaper than Cub Cadet shear pins.When the blower is functioning it does a great job on fluffy and damp snow. This blower cleared very well in 8" or less fluffy/damp snow, anything over 8" left a trail to the side and required a second pass to clean it up. Despite its shortcomings, this blowers performance is 300% better than my Toro 721E and it is only $200 more.
