This company hides behind Heymondo and “Assist card”
This company hides behind a non-existent fake “company” called Heymondo. If you have ever bought travel insurance from Heymondo, the only time you will see this name is on your policy! Heymondo (and Starr Insurance companies although it’s not mentioned anywhere on the website) just make up a travel insurance policy “quickly” on their website without telling or asking the users anything and unsuspecting users like me buy the insurance and those that are unfortunate enough having to see a doctor on a travel (again, me and many others who have had to see a doctor and / or file a claim) will experience the horrendous aspect of these companies. Others will never know about it and they keep pocketing the premiums! So, as in my other review on the non-existent Heymondo, I bought a travel insurance policy which was apparently underwritten by Starr insurance companies. They never say which company is doing what, just so they can point to each other. When I had to see a doctor the only number I can see is an offshore company called Assist Card who basically do nothing (and not answerable to anyone!) except to deflect your need to see a doctor even for a simple thing, and then the claim for it. Even the so called “doctors” they provide (only in one instance) are appalling to say the least. Although I had a terrible experience (for a 10 dollar claim, having to waste 2 months! Giving sensitive information in 20 different places), I will focus this review on the most recent travel experience where I am not even allowed to see a doctor after a fall when unable to walk with a possible broken bone. The “Assist Card” who apparently say they belong to Starr Insurance kept harassing me the entire day until 1 am, saying the policy sold on the website is invalid! And said it was “sold by heymondo” and “underwritten by Starr” So basically they’re saying their company sold me an invalid policy! All phone numbers and emails only correspond to “Assist Card”, who should be named as “Harass Card” and you can nowhere contact Starr insurance and no one knows who “Heymondo” is! So I still can’t walk, the only thing I got with the so called “invalid policy” (the heymondo app and website say it is still valid and active) is some medical chat with some “doctors” on the app (no video, just chat). I was advised to go to an emergency room or at the least be seen physically and have my feet x-rayed but Assist card (apparently a part of Starr Insurance) is adamant to not do anything and say they sold me an invalid policy. There are tons of reps to tell you they won’t do anything but they have no idea who can be contacted for selling the invalid policy! They say contact USA number and every number goes back to them upon pressing the appropriate option!!! The only option where someone picks up the phone is the option where they sell the policy and they don’t do anything of course is this part is not their job!The entire scammy business of travel insurance needs to be regulated and no one is willing to do that and people will need to keep buying policies from these companies and they will be OK as long as they don’t have to see a doctor or file a claim!
