I’ve been publishing since 2013. Even when I had a publisher, I was never taught the methods I’m now learning in the 3xp program. What struck me about the first course I took at Severn Figure Author Career was its methodological approach to writing and the business of writing. Rebecca Hamilton's classes are very structured and mix written and video examples. They are also supported by online discussion groups where you can get help from other people who are traveling the same path. That helps. The approach covers writing, ads, covers, blurbs, newsletters, etc. Normally, one sees this in a bunch of unconnected classes, but the problem with a cafeteria approach is you might end up only eating desserts. Of all the courses—and there are a bunch—I found the one on 3XP and Editing to be the most useful. 3XP is, in many ways, the core of the method, and it's huge. The classes are not cheap, but they are worth it.
