Huge Mistake

Huge Mistake! I just wanted a ball park figure of how much my move might cost. I found myself signing up with Royal Palm not fully appreciating they were brokers rather than a moving company (my mistake). I provided them with full dimensions of every item in my move and they gave me a quote. Seemed reasonable (haha) and I paid the deposit. On the DAY OF THE MOVE the truck turned up and the driver said: Sorry, your quote is too low and DOUBLED IT. My landlady was waiting for the keys. It was "you agree to double the price or you loose your deposit and we leave". NIGHTMARE. Then the trucking company lost one of our boxes. NB: This happened in Aug 2023. Looking at other reviews, it doesn't look like anything has changed.

If you are looking for Scammers &…

If you are looking for Scammers & Robbers, look no more! Royal Palm Movers are the ones for you. They are very sweet when trying to scam the business. The don't tell you that they are Brokers who work with other scamming Drivers to get more money. It's all a scam and they should be stopped immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am going to have everyone from my Family and Office to write a review on them. You are given one price and when they arrive you are getting other contracts. Prices are WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!higher that quoted and no one cares. They cancel if you do not decide to pay more, and they refuse to return your deposit. You will get responses like these:Per the contract you signed you are not entitled to any refund. The contract states if you refuse service for any reason your deposit is nonrefundable. You signed off on this contract two separate times. As a courtesy we were going to refund you the whole deposit. You then chose to write bad reviews online about our company, even though we were refunding you when we were not required to. Because of this we are electing not to refund you the other $500. At this point we consider this matter closed and this will be the last email we will send. Keep in mind this other deposit that is nonrefundable is on your file as a credit towards any future move for friends or family! Best,Josh Peabody Do not give them your account information, they are no good!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. They get your non- refundable deposit promising exact move dates and accurate estimates then at the last minute increase the cost and change the date of the pickup. They lied to me multiple times and I had to do the move myself. Don’t trust this company! You will regret working with them.

NEVER WORK WITH THIS MOVING COMPANY

I cannot even give one star to this company. I strongly advise against working with this moving company. Royal Palm Moving company charged me over the phone a total of $1588 (for 300 cubic feet) and asked for a $500 deposit without disclosing that it was non-refundable. This occurred on 1/26/2024. Four days before my moving day on 3/5/2024, they informed me that my belongings required more truck space (424 cubic feet), so they charged me an additional $2479.04 and requested an extra $300 as a second deposit. When I tried to cancel my contract, I discovered they wouldn't refund my initial $500 deposit and instead charged me again, alleging my items needed more space without sending an inspector beforehand. On my moving day (3/9/2024), they subcontracted another company, G & M Moving and Storage Corp, to pack and load my items onto the truck. The movers placed my items in separate boxes to occupy more truck space, even though they could have used fewer boxes. They used specialized, expensive boxes without consulting me. I was left with no choice but to pay whatever they demanded on moving day. If I wanted to cancel due to the high price, I would have lost my $800 deposit that I had already paid, and I couldn't find another moving company at that time.Additionally, they failed to deliver my belongings on time and showed little concern despite charging exorbitant fees and knowing the urgency of needing my items. My questions are:1. Why didn't they send someone to estimate the total price beforehand?2. Why did they send another company without informing me? I had not contracted with this second company; my contract was with Royal Palm Moving. When I complained to Royal Palm Moving, they ignored my calls multiple times and eventually stated that my belongings took up more truck space. If their movers chose to pack my items separately to create more space and then charged me more, that is not my problem. Finally, the manager of Royal Palm Moving only provided me with the phone number of G & M Moving and Storage Corp and suggested I deal with them directly. He showed a lack of concern for customer problems. Both companies charged me $5000, even though the initial quote was $1588. I want to inform both Royal Palm Executive Interstate Movers and G & M Moving and Storage Corp that customers are dissatisfied with the way they handled this situation. I filed my complaint at the Better Business Bureau. Last Thursday the G & M Moving assistant promised to deliver my stuff on Sunday or Monday, but they did not it. Today they promised to bring my stuff on Wednesday or Thursday. Right now, I had another call from Royal Palm Moving and they threat me that if I do not remove the complaint from the site, they never bring my stuff. I did write my complaint at BBB (Better Business Bureau) and expected they help me and people like me to stop this kind of treat from a moving company with customer? DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

Scam

Trust me, do not use this company! They are scammers, read the BBB reviews that they have NEVER responded to. My husband and I were researching moving companies as we are moving out of state. The scam this company pulls is, they quote you a low amount ($1900) then require a down payment, then tell you, you will receive a call the day before your move to go over everything. Well my husband called two weeks before just for clarification. We were then quoted $5400!!! Plus our deposit is not refundable!!! They prey on people in time crunches offer a deal that is hard to resist and then when you have no time to do anything else, surprise the cost is now three times what they initially told you. Beware, trust me!

Do not use this company. Lies!!!

Please read the reviews. I can assure you that the 5 star reviews are not what you can expect. This company lied, misled, misrepresented themselves...The reviews match our experience. They said they could do our move for $2500. They said they do this move regularly from ABQ to OKC (gave us false confidence... they aren't even the movers).2 DAYS before the day of the move, "Quality Assurance " called, claiming that they were not aware of the items we told them about. They also said they didn't know we would have boxes, only furniture. Another reviewer posted the same thing... but I didn't check reviews, as I should have. Then we were told that we'd have to leave some things behind. Uhmmm??? This is a 2 state move. I'm moving from a rental home to another rental home. I can't just leave things behind. This company has an F with the BBB and is not accredited, BTW. The company is NOT a moving company. They refer out to other companies. They also told us, after doubling our first quote, that the movers would re-assess and possibly raise the prices again. We lost a $2k deposit that we couldn't afford to lose.Renting the u- haul and hiring loaders is much less expensive. BTW, u-haul can refer you to loaders and unloaders.Losing the $2k and getting a 26"u-haul, a trailer, hiring people to load, and fuel is still less than the increase we would've paid , according to other reviewers, who have lost their stuff, had it damaged or stolen...Please, do not use this company. After we secured the u- haul, we canceled the credit card we paid them with so they couldn't take the rest of the money. Then, we canceled the move, which could've turned out nightmarish. They were told in advance that we had limited income when they initially quoted us and STILL pulled this. Do not give them your info. Do not use them. Even if your move were to turn out OK, you're supporting a company that lies, steals, causes stress, and is banking on the fact that you will cancel so they can keep your deposit. Run. Now.

They picked my stuff up on August 21 were suppose to be there at 1:00 pm, showed up at 8:00 pm. Tagged all my boxes and crammed them into a space that was to small for the amount of stuff to deliver. They showed up with my items on Oct 20. Missing a TV and my tool bag with all my good tools and my drill. Lots of broken glass even though they were bubble wrapped and newspaper all around them. I have been trying to reach them and know one calls me back. My next step will be to call the better business beauro. I will also post on facebook to always check with them before hiring a discount mover if I don't here from them by tomorrow. Also the delivery driver lied to me and said he wouldsend me something to fill out for items missing and late delivery. Never happeded

BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS!!

BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS!!We reached out to Royal Palm Moving for our interstate move and were quoted 418 for our one bedroom apartment. On the day the movers show up the movers let us know that the 3rd party (Royal Palm Moving) grossly misquoted our move. The movers let us know we would need over 1,200 cubic feet. Not only did they misquote us but the movers didn't have room on the truck. They told us they would have to split the items between two trucks (and deliver the rest of our items at a later date). We were then given a new price of $11,700 (to move 1,200 cubic feet). The quoted price was off by 4x times the amount we originally were quoted. In the agreement we signed it stated the original price quoted wouldn't increase unless we added additional weight, or cubic feet to be moved.During the first initials call we gave the representative a count and details of all the items that would need to be moved but when the movers showed up they said the space they reserved for us wouldn't even move our bedroom set. This caused us to be in a panic and emotional distress because we couldn't afford $11,700 and we needed all of our items moved together. We ended up having to cancel the moving truck because we couldn't pay for the new quoted amount. I called Royal Palms and requested they refund our $1,700 security deposit because they misquoted the move and we didn't add any additional items to the original quote. We would have never gone ahead with Royal Palm Movers if we had known the cost would be so high. The quote was grossly off and misguided. We've read through other Google reviews and noticed other customers have recently had the exact same experience as us.It seems like this company is scamming customers with bait-and-switch techniques. I've called Royal Palms to inquire about the litigation process. I was told to send an email (email sent 10/04/2023) and someone would respond to me in 7-10 business days. I still haven't received a response and when I call I get told to send another email or I get disconnected.I've submitted a claim with the BBB (10/18/2023), and Royal Palms has still not responded. I'll post another Google review in 30 days with any updates on the progress with the BBB and Royal Palms. The lack of integrity of this company is a huge red flag and companies that operate like this shouldn't be allowed to do business.I hope I can save someone from being taken advantage of by this corrupt company. I would stay far away!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. This company promised a specific pickup date, then changed it the day before pickup. Then promised another date and didn’t make that either. They promise anything to get your deposit, they will flat out lie to you about a pickup date. I had to rent a truck and do the move myself. Once they get your deposit, there is no way you will get it back. Don’t do business with this company!

Moving Express and Storage Co.

I called Royal Palm Moving Co. on September 19, 2023 and spoke to Tyler Silverman to get an estimate. I told him I had to call my sisters to make sure the quote was ok with them. My sisters and I agreed so I hired them to move my 94 year old mother from Maine to a senior living facility in Ridgefield, CT. I did hear from the carrier Moving Express and Storage Co. out of Pasiac, NJ. They would pick up on 9/27/23 or 9/28/23 between 11am and 4pm. On September 28 the driver called around 5 pm to tell us he would arrive at my mother’s mobile home at 9:30 pm. When the driver arrived at my mother’s he wanted an additional $400. My sister called me and I told her not to pay him any extra $. Then he wanted $95 to put my mother’s 45” tv in a box. I drove to my mother’s to see what was going on. I told Soto Miguel no way. So I drove back to my house to give her a smaller tv and wrapped it up and put it in a large box I found in my mother’s garage. They finished at 12:15 am. And I did sign the papers and contract without reading it. Never again! I asked the driver if he would be the one to deliver my mother’s goods. The driver said no. I asked him if the drop off was on October 2, 2023. He looked at his paperwork and said yes. My mother was arriving at Ridgefield Crossing at the senior living facility on October 3, 2023. Guess what! My mother’s things didn’t arrive on October 2 like I thought it would be. I called customer service and Chloi told me that I would hear from the driver 24 hours before the drop. I have not heard from the driver so far. I called several times to Royal Palm’s customer service on Monday October 2 to try to get delivery of my mother’s furniture, toiletries and most importantly her medications. I got no where. I decided to call Amanda at Moving Express October 3rd at 10:06 am. She answered the phone and told me she was on another line talking to a client. She told me she would call me back in twenty minutes. She didn’t. So about an hour later I called again and I got a voicemail so I left a message asking for an approximate date of when the movers would arrive at Ridgefield Crossings. No return call. I’m going to call the moving company again today and every day until I hear a date and time. The worst part is that my 94 year old mother doesn’t have her lift chair , her bed and most importantly her medications. This was the first time that I have dealt with a moving company. I will definitely not recommend Royal Palm Moving which happens to be located in Oakland, Florida or Moving Express in N. J. It’s a big scam! They were not totally honest about the delivery. Of course, the deposit can’t be returned. I read good and bad reviews on this website and my stomach dropped as I read about the reviews about Royal Palm and Moving Express. I’m trying to stay positive that my mother will receive her things. If my mother doesn’t receive her things after 21 days, I will send a letter to the Florida Attorney General and to N. J. Attorney General. Other people who have had similar experiences have complained to the NJ Attorney General. ( Shame on you Tyler for taking advantage of my 94 year old mother who worked hard all her life. )

Absolutely horrible!

Absolutely horrible!! Complete scam!! Lied to about pricing. Only professional when trying to get your money then when it comes to move date- their phone lines are out of order, do not respond, customer service will not help nor put you in contact with the drivers who are supposed to be moving your items. No 24 hour in advance notice upon pick up. Never showed up to pick up. If we could give negative ratings we would. Report as fraud!!!!!

Super shady…just awful

If negative stars were possible, bet…. I contacted Royal Palms to book a move (#7947611) from Washington to California. Seemed like a fair price and I felt like Paric C was a man of his word and per Paris, my belongings would be at the new place within 3-5 days, so I put $581 deposit down for a move to happen Sept 14 or 15. Got a call from Royal palm on Sept 13, stating movers would be at my place on Sept 15 between 11-1. On Sept 14, however, I was contacted by TicTac Relocation (contracted by Royal Palm), stating they would be there by 3pm on Sept 14…I asked for clarification and the movers assured me they would pick up on that day, so I busted my butt to get things all ready to go and even paid for a night in a motel since everything would be gone Just after 5pm, however, the mover from TicTac called and said they would be there on Sept 15 from 8-9 (They ended up showing up about 11, but ultimately got the job done, after I had to pay extra 180 because Royal Palm underestimated my load, which was clearly noted as a bs scam, but what are you gonna do!? They count on YOUR timeframes and use it against you.I did contact Paris with updates, via text, and he Paris thanked me for my patience, stating that Royal Palm would reimburse me the 120 for the room (he even asked for my venmo). It never happened, spoke to Josh about it and even sent texts messages between me and Paris and have yet to hear a response. I haven’t heard from anyone at Royal Palms since. Have tried to get some answers about my belongings from their customer service people, and while they try, they are highly ineffective and didn’t Answer any of my questions even barely. They get their money and bail the eff out quick. Super disappointed, quite frankly, and would not even recommend them to move my garbage can on pick up days. I’ve been highly frustrated and stressed… not ok. I’ve already made reports to attorney general, US DOT and BBB., attaching all the “receipts,” which include proof of payment, bill of laden, text messages and emails. To date, I have still not received my belongings from the shady a$$ agency (If in Washington, DO NOT do business with TicTac Relocation, currently in “negotiations” with them on a 3rd promised delivery date) they hooked me up with. Just terrible. This is not just bad business, this is blatantly unethical behavior, intentional lack of communication and deliberate dishonesty. Trash to the core. Avoid at all cost.

ABSOLUTE S**T!.

ABSOLUTE S**T!.. thieves looking for how to get the client's money, scamming the client with false estimates without being the ones doing the moving, they send some brokers with a truck and in the end they give you the excuse that they don't return the money and the client ends up paying 2 different companies, them and those who are actually the managers and professionals of the moving that they send. They are absolute s**t movers, they cannot be recommended, they will end up scamming you and looking for a way to get more money from you, they only sound professional on the phone.

Royal Palm --- Terrible!

My experience with Royal Palm was horrible! I provided an itemized list of all items to be moved...in great detail. When the contracted moving company showed up, they explained that Royal Palm had grossly underestimated the cubic footage needed. So, the move would cost 2.5 times the estimate. I was not able to move my items. Royal Palm will not refund my deposit. Their suggestion was to have the moving company take the items that would fit in the cubic footage that Royal Palm estimated...although this would only be one-third of the items I listed on the quote. They had no solutions for how to move the rest of the items on my list. Now trying to get $1279 back from the deposit and hiring a more honest, trustworthy company. Already filed a complaint with the BBB. Please be careful!

These people are complete liars

These people are complete liars! Do not use!!! They tell you one price and change it multiple times! The arrival was 2 days late. The jerk that showed up with his teenage son said he called multiple times and he was going to prove me wrong and yet he’d been calling the wrong number the whole time. He also said in front of my entire family he was not going to guarantee my belongings would arrive. Then what the heck am I paying for! That’s when the mover and his child left! Pretty expensive deposit for 3 days of hell! After calling customer service they claim I broke the contract! Will be hiring an attorney! DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS COMPANY !

I wish I could give them a negative…

I wish I could give them a negative number but that's impossible. They must have family and friends putting up the stars and good ratings because they tried to scam myself and my mom out of our money. We booked with then to move from Wisconsin to Arizona and they never called nor showed up and I had to pay my previous owners more money to stay thinking they would eventually show up NEVER HAPPENED. We called and called and kept getting the run around and once we stopped payment on the check that was sent to them someone kept calling. 😆 Don't fall for this mess with these jive turkeys. All the 5, 4,3 and 2 stars came from someone they knowDON'T DO IT

Do not ignore this review

Do not ignore this review. The good reviews are lies. This company is a broker! The lied about the price. We listed everything in our home and when they got there, at the last possible minute before our move, doubled the price and they have your expensive deposit and you are their hostage. We had to leave several large items behind and still pay more. The day labor hired movers with them said this happened to every person they went to that day. We had a delivery date of 8/19, pick up was on 8/13, and did not get our stuff until 9/11. Then, they wanted to charge us $700 more because they said they could not get the truck into the apartments and needed to rent a smaller truck. WHAT!!!! Untrue! We have seen several other trucks this size dropping off stuff in the complex. Then they wanted to add $135 an hour for the time it was taking us to figure this out. They finally decided they were going to unload the truck on the side of the street! This is the most ridiculous company filled with lairs and thieves! All of the large items were damaged. There is a special place in Hell for these people.
