RGK Tiga footplate repair

Popped into the showroom today as id broken my footrests so thought id drop in and see if i could either book in for repair or order new ones,Charlie went and got one of the engineers Scott and ir was decided thst the footplates i had on were really old and unsuitable( its a second hand Chair) i asked if theuly could uder me a new one ,a solid aluminium one,well they went even better than that,Scott tok my chair away and made me an aluminium foot plate and even painted it,all while i was sat in the showroom,needless to say i was very emotional when he bought it back to me,i honestly wasnt expecting that at all. So id like to say a huge thankyou to Scott and Charlie for caring and fixing me up,your generosity is unbelievable,and Charlie thank you for the coffee and natter,you dont know how much you cheered up this army veteran xxxx

After recently receiving my new RGK…

After recently receiving my new RGK Tiga Sub 4, I can honestly say it has exceeded every expectation.The first thing that struck me was the comfort and support. From the moment I transferred into it, the chair felt natural, it encourages great posture and immediately improved how I sit and move throughout the day. That difference alone has had a real, positive effect on my overall wellbeing.The lightweight design is remarkable. The Sub 4 is incredibly easy to handle, making day-to-day life so much simpler, and it’s made a huge difference for my wife too, who now finds lifting it into the car effortless.I also want to highlight the exceptional service from Alan Mansell. His professionalism, depth of product knowledge, and openness in sharing his own lived experience as a wheelchair user made the entire process not only straightforward but genuinely reassuring. It’s rare to meet someone who combines expertise with such empathy and authenticity.In short, the Tiga Sub 4 has given me greater comfort, posture, and independence than I thought possible, and the service behind it was equally outstanding. I couldn’t be happier.

Exceptional Aftercare – RGK Sets the Standard

I recently needed remedial work on my RGK Octane Sub4, and the experience with their aftercare team was outstanding. Special thanks to Charlie and the engineering team for their professionalism and speed.Two issues were resolved:- Footplate remedial work- Sideguard width adjustmentWhat impressed me most was their attention to detail and how quickly they understood the problems I was facing. I expected this to take days or even weeks, but they delivered immediate solutions within a few hours. The level of care and precision was exceptional.RGK’s aftercare support is second to none. If you’re considering a wheelchair, I strongly recommend RGK – not just for the product quality, but for the incredible support that comes with it.

Warning to anyone considering RGK…

Warning to anyone considering RGK Wheelchairs After years as a customer, I’ve had one of the worst experiences imaginable with RGK. I ordered a new Octane FX to replace my old Aluminium FX — a process that’s dragged on for over two years.The original frame has been back to RGK twice, even though they made the original one.After seven versions of the drawings, the new frame still arrived wrong.It’s now been two months since they took it back again, and there’s been no update.I’ve also been waiting two years for replacement Spinergy wheels that delaminated. Spinergy agreed they were faulty, yet I still have no replacements.Emails to Managing Director Michael Sheen and Sales & Marketing Manager Dorian Benjamin have gone unanswered — just like messages to the aftersales team.RGK’s lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable, especially when they serve the disabled community who rely on their products for independence.My advice: stay clear of this company until they learn to treat their customers with respect and responsibility.

Very Happy Customer!

I’m delighted with my new Octane Sub4 wheelchair. I dealt with Jack who was outstanding in the time he gave me and his attention to detail in getting every aspect of the specification for my new chair perfect. And he is a lovely person to deal with! Love it! Thank you Jack!

Make your next wheelchair an RGK

Picked up my new RGK Octane sub4 from RGK. Only had it a few days but I can say its the best chair I've ever owned, and I have owned quite a few. The whole process from measure to handover went very smoothly. Shout out to the staff, all very friendly and knowledgeable. Good handover by Matt, ensured the chair was A OK, and explained how to adjust various parameters. Great experience.

amazing customer service

amazing customer service! came in for new tyres for my wheelchair and they sorted out the whole wheelchair due to its age with no problems! all the team where so lovely and friendly, couldn’t of asked for a better experience! not to mention how good the quality of the wheelchair is!

Had my Rgk tiga a few months now

Had my Rgk tiga a few months now, the chair hasn’t stopped creeking. The chair felt great for a few days until it started, I thought ahhh these things happen. Since, the chair has been back twice to be repaired. The second time it went back, the after care team assured me that they would replace the back axel completely, and said it’ll be fine, had the chair back yesterday and the axel had been re welded the same as it had been the first time (they lied). Day two and the chair is starting to creek again. Up to now I’ve not posted a negative review, but ordering with Rgk is starting to feel like a mistake. Had no issues with ordering from other companies but this has been a real stress. Such a shame.

Better the second time round

Mike understood that Diane had found the whole process of getting her new wheelchair frustrating, disheartening and generally rough. So once he got involved he tried to ensure the second build of her chair went as smoothly as possible to a positive outcome. We thank him so much for this.

I had Jack Davey the RGK Consultant…

I had Jack Davey the RGK Consultant come out to my home and he made me so comfortable with him and his knowledge of the sports chair that I wanted for Basketball as I play for Help for Hereos Team , we discussed how the chair would fit me and measured me and chose the colours I wanted . The delivery date was earlier than I expected which was great and Jack very kindly in his own time delivered the chair to me whilst I was in Birmingham, he brought it to the hotel and made sure everything was perfect for handover . The chair is an RGK Elite and it’s my very first proper chair and it’s so light in weight . My team mates said I was so much faster than before . Thank you to Jack and the Staff at RGK . Would thoroughly recommend them if you play any sports or use a Day chair .

Making the choice of my fist wheelchair

I spent months looking online for different manufacturers and styles of wheelchairs. The Octaine fx appealed to me as the folding design looked so easy to me. My assessor Matt Byrne came to my home and made it all so simple. Taking his time to talk me through everything. Made the whole process so simple. My wheelchair(my first ever) was delivered by Matt who again took his time with good advice on how to take the chair apart and many more tips on how to use it. Thanks for everything Matt and all at RGK for my experience in choosing and making my Octaine fx wheelchair

Excellent measuring service and amazing wheelchair fit

I was buying my first chair in almost 10 years and Jack Stanton, my customer advisor, had an excellent attention to detail when measuring me for my chair, RGK product knowledge and used his lived experience (and former GBL professional experience) to really understand how I use my wheelchair on a daily basis. It was very in depth and Jack shared the pros and cons of different models and explained everything. I also asked a huge amount of questions and he was very patient and responsive. We used my previous RGK Hi-Lite as a baseline drawing with some current modifications.When my RGK Octane was delivered to me, Jack spent the time setting it up to the millimetre. Consequently, this chair is outstanding, so easy to transfer in/out of the car, super comfortable (my back pain has gone) and is just a work of art.Pip provided great customer service, and now I only trust Jack to do the measuring again in future years; hang onto him!

RGK sports and day chair purchase

I'm a 40 year paraplegic, and I'm confident to say that this is the best day chair I've had in my life. I went with Matt who is an experienced RGK chair measurer to measure up my new basketball and day chair. I was given the convenient choice of him coming to my home or visiting the showroom to complete the order. I chose to go to the showroom just to allow more space to compare my previous chairs and copy certain measurements across. Matt gave great attention to detail when marrying up the right measurements for me, a complicated job to spec and copy from the previous American manufactured chairs I had!! He explained all of the options available in the design and measuring very clearly, so I knew I'd get exactly what I need from both of the chairs. Plenty of options and add ons are available to give the chairs better functionality and also personal touches in appearance.I've had RGK wheelchairs both day and sports in my life before, but their design has come a long way since I last owned one. The best part is the lightweightness of them both. My Elite X basketball chair feels and moves great whilst giving me the perfect stability and performance.My day chair is light as a feather!! But like my sports chair it also gives me comfortable stability, especially whilst carrying my 20 month son around! The frame absorbs a lot of the ground terrain nicely when pushing on pavements and jumping kerbs, thus giving a comfortable smooth ride. Another huge advantage with my new day chair is the ease of lifting it in and out of my car now. Being under 4kg makes it a total breeze to lift across me in the car. There are also no sharp edges to the frame, which for regular transferring saves the interior of my car!I ordered my chairs on 13th January, and they were both ready by May 6th (the sports chair actually was ready before that!). So overall, a short and satisfying build time from measuring date.Very happy customer with RGK, very happy with Matt's service, and would definitely recommend RGK to anyone looking for a lightweight made to measure chair.

Incompetent

Looking to purchase a new wheelchair, I thought I would give RGK a try as I had heard good things about them both as a company and for the quality of their chairs; big mistake!I was initially visited by a rep, himself a wheelchair user, to discuss my options and to take measurements and decided that an Octane chair would suit my requirements. When the chair arrived a few months later, unfortunately the back of the chair was 2” higher than measured and made it extremely uncomfortable to sit in. I contacted the rep and was assured that it would be collected the next day, adjusted and returned to me within a few days which was great as I had a holiday booked and was hoping to have my new chair in time. Nobody turned up and there was no contact from RGK. I chased this up and was assured that it would be looked into. On returning from my holiday I had still heard nothing and so contacted customer care to find out what was going on. They eventually returned my email apologised for the delay and said that they would send a box for the chair to be returned. When this arrived the chair did not fit! More emails and the correct size box did arrive and the chair was returned for adjustment. Despite the apologies and promises that I would be kept informed, the only contact I had was from TNT telling me that a delivery was on its way; nothing from customer services. The chair had been correctly adjusted, but the same upholstery put on so the chair back was in fact the same size as before! Another email to customer service and a new back was promised. Again, no contact from customer service, but the back did arrive and finally after 167 days I had a useable chair. These chairs are not cheap and the least you can expect is that simple measurements are adhered to and that customer service actually provide some sort of service. I requested some form of compensation for the delay and was offered £200 store credit! This was obviously refused as I no longer wish to do business with RGK after the abysmal service I received and what could I buy for £200 from a wheelchair provider?Overall the experience was amateurish at best, bordering on incompetent. Basic measurements weren’t adhered to, communication was nonexistent, customer service was worse than useless and their pathetic offer of compensation was insulting. I will certainly never deal with them again and would advise others to think hard before ordering from such an incompetent company.

If I Could give a Million Stars I Would!! Superb Company

I've been using a lightweight active user wheelchair since 1988 and had a fair few RGK chairs in my time, but all of them have been supplied by a dealer and not direct from RGK themselves. So I wanted to write a review about my first experience purchasing a chair directly with RGK.Until a few years ago I always went to the same dealer for a new wheelchair (GBL Wheelchairs in good ol' London town) as I'm big on loyalty, but when the owner retired I knew a change was on the horizon.The local mobility advisor for RGK is a good friend of mine and has been since he was in short trousers! [sorry Jack!) as we played basketball for the same team for many years so naturally I spoke to him first.My new chair came about, as my old chair I had been using in my MGF sports car was past its best and falling apart; it was in fact older than the car I was using it in and that was 25 years old itself! So I opted for a Tiga FX (aluminium) to keep costs down to a minimum as the chair was being fundraised through our local classic car club.Jack did his best to find a pre loved chair for me in my size but these were rare as hens teeth at the time, so I was offered a good price on a new one which I agreed to immediately and a date was set for me to be measured.At this point it's only fair to point out that I'm a creature of habit when it comes to wheelchairs and I do not have a new chair very often, for example, my other everyday chair is 9 years old and my house chair is 24 years old!The Tiga FX is a game changer in its design and what it enables you to do, whilst it's a folding chair it doesn't feel like a folding chair and still manages to feel very solid, it doesn't flex like a traditional folding chair.Onto the initial appointment, with disappointment I decided to take the two chairs that I use the most too take measurements from and also ideas, so I could have a mix of both chairs in this new chair. Jack listened carefully to everything I said and made notes on everything that I had found difficult, or had changed in my condition since my last chair was built in 2015, so this could be incorporated in the build where possible.Jack's knowledge, drive, experience and enthusiasm shines through in everything he does and his approach to his work. He has a real enthusiasm for getting the right solution for the client. Luckily for me he agreed to include in the build a front wheel which for the use my chair was intended to get is a real bonus as I do a lot of car shows and the front wheel lifts the traditional front casters off the floor to give you more clearance and allow you to go over rough ground.Through the consultation, and during the build process Jack was always available at the end of the phone if ever I had a question and when the design team pointed out there needed to be a change to incorporate the front wheel the communication between head office, Jack, and myself was absolutely brilliant and very very slick, if I had a question they answered it very quickly, and I had quite a lot of questions!The chair was ready in February 2025 and I collected it from Jack at basketball training, the chair itself is extremely well made and considering it is the standard upholstery, wheels, and frame design (as I wanted to make the "Go Fund Me" raised funds from my car club, to go as far as possible), I was extremely impressed with what was included as a base spec, the chair has a very high end feel.I did have one or two issues with the chair, nothing major, but through my own stupidity I ended up ripping open my thumbs on the metal sides of my chair, because the handrims were sent close set rather than wide. I choose to have metal sides as I thought they would be harder wearing than carbon fibre, given that I lean in my chair a lot.Every member of the RGK team has a commitment to making sure the clients chair is absolutely perfect for them; I only mentioned my injuries in passing to Jack, but the next thing I knew, I had in my e-mail communication from head office. Firstly to make sure I was OK, secondly to get details of the injuries I sustained and how these occurred, and finally to see if there was anything they could do to ensure that this did not happen again. I was blown away with this approach given that the side guard choice was my own and the injury was down to my own stupidity.It was nice to meet Charley (who I'd been dealing with) at Naidex & she remembered everything about my issues which was nice, she asked me about my sides & how i was getting on, and agreed to get some carbon fibre ones made to avoid further injury. she even offered to get my rear wheels collected to sort the handrims, but I couldn't ask them to do that on top of everything else they were doing. I've been blown away by the service & (funds permitting) I cannot wait to order another chair! Buy from RGK with confidence, they are, simply awesome! Even paying was a pleasure, PIP is lovely!

High quality and worth the wait

The chair, fantastic. No complaints. My main problem occurred with trying to get a hold of anybody to begin with, it took a couple of months to actually be able to make contact but once I did everything moved very quickly, including making the chair, and I was kept updated as to the current timeline. You won’t find a better quality chair anywhere, or a longer lasting one. I’ve already been able to get in touch with somebody about upgrading my chair now that I’m used to it and I’ve never come across one that fits as well as this one does.I’ve now started to be able to get more fit. I’ve put muscle on. I’m no longer in pain from a poorly fit chair. I cannot recommend RGK enough.

I’m absolutely blown away by my first…

I’m absolutely blown away by my first call with Jack today. He’s an absolute breath of fresh air! I’m just looking into getting a mobility device for myself and haven’t a clue what to get or what I should need. Jack explained so many variations on the wheelchairs that are customized for your specific needs. He explained everything so clearly in a way that I could understand and keep up with. I’m definitely going to be looking hopefully at getting my very first wheelchair from Jack. Such a great first point of contact, actually not dreading the new route I’m going down now. Thanks so very much Jack.
