I signed up to get a rental car at the Airport where I am from. Signed all paperwork on line. My neighbor drove mee to the airport and when I went in to get the car I picked out was told, no cars were available. There was no one at the counter. Next door to the rental I was to get They said they would help me. Confirmed no rental car. The insurance I took out was paid separately but through this company. Did not hear anything on refund til Jan -14-2026 They wanted ENS number which I filled all that out the day after not receiveing the car . Had to go to my bank and located the rental Agency for the insurance as it is not told on email.Will never use them people again.

From the very moment we entered Eurocar’s office in Copenhagen Airport, things started to go wrong- Denmark has made it law for cars to use appropriate tyres for the season- ice and snow was expected during December and January and winter tires had to be used. I was given a car with summer tyres, making the car “not roadworthy “. I was charged a further for 1,000 to get appropriate tyres. When contacting Rentalcars.com they informed me that they could not help me and that i should have contacted them while collecting the car after my 24 hours flight. I would think the appropriate action here would have been to refund the over charged amount and make sure the business agreement between Rentalcars.com and Europear is clear and user friendly for the customers When finally given a car it was covered in mud and another car then had to be processed How can you agree to rent a car out in December and January and not expect to include winter tyres ( I am still waiting for my refund)A very disappointing start to my holiday

My £86 booking turned into £300 when I went to collect the car because my credit card used my initials rather than first name. There were three others with the same issue at the desk when I arrived so not an isolated issue. Felts like a scam and rentalcars.com were unwilling to help. Avoid

HIDDEN COSTS on every corner
HIDDEN COSTS on every corner. If you don’t buy their overpriced insurance, you’re even forced to wash the car yourself before returning it – otherwise, they charge you extra.No one asked us where we were going or mentioned anything about crossing borders. The contract clearly states that crossing into Spain is allowed (Faro to Spain is only 50 km!). Yet we suddenly received an email accusing us of “unauthorized border crossing” and they started charging us €25 PER DAY!Their online call center was completely useless and couldn’t resolve anything, and the staff at the return desk were just as unhelpful.⚠️ AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! ⚠️

If I could give -5* I would. AVOID THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! THEY DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH, THEIR EMAILS ARE GIBBERISH, THEY CANCELLED LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE PICK UP AND REFUSE TO REFUND EVERSINCE. I am initiating a fraud investigation on them as the emails they are sending scream of a scam. Read their last email to me here: "We totally understand your situation and keep asking for a refund back. from a From a service that you didn't receive. Even. I'm a customer by the end of the day, so. I can't relate what you feel. I need you to be assured about that. The request has been sent already on the 26th of July. For this reservation to be fully refunded with 117.43 GBP. And it should be. Sent back to the same card you made the payment with within five to seven working days. We will be doing our best to rectify this. And help you to get a better experience with us. I truly thank you for your patience and cooperation with us.

It was a waste money, as we needed to pay the whole amount again for the car when we wanted to hand it over. When we opened a case at a customer service they just sent an automatic email "your case under review" and nothing happened in a month. Terrible. Never again.

This company will do its best to take your money for nothing if they can.We were just over an hour late to pick up our car and the hire company refused to give us a car. They said we would have to get our money back from Rentalcars.com. Of course they refused because we were late. Even though the plane was delayed because of fires in the area.So we paid Rentalcars $750AUD for a weeks car rental and received nothing in return. In the end we went directly to Avis and paid almost $2000AUD. So in total our hire car cost us $2750 for a week.Please do your research about this company, they also make it difficult to find all their bad reviews.

In June 25 , 2025. I booked a car with additional driver, booking number 632536827. I was quoted $189for the additional driver. Upon payment rentalcRs portal deducted car fees without the additional driver fees.upon pick up the car from Thrifty in pearson Airport Canada. I was charged by Thrifty al it $500 for the additional driver. Thrifty didn't houner the price quoted by rentalcars the same as rentalcars. RentalcRs didn't support me the same as I find it inpossible to rea hout to anyone in Thrifty to complain.

Do not use rentalcars.com!We booked a rental car in UK for a weekend, the price you pay when booking is NOT the price you actualy pay, it just the start! At pickup you need to sign a new agreement for the actual car rental company, they will charge you for there incurence, policys etc.. a 10 pund booking ended up beeing a 200 pund booking..Costumer service for rentalcars.com used 4 months to give me a reason for all the additional charges, after all this time its hard to argu for what i did and did not comply to.. i feel scamed

On the airport when i wanted to collect the car lady told me to pay 3400€ for deposit, 100€ deposit for petrol, 267 for car rent and 45€ for late evening extra charge. What the hell. People do not go for rentalcars. I didn't take my car and now they say that I can forget about my refund. Bad bad company

Never use this company. They are a scam. Seriously do not book your rental through this company as your insurance is not accepted abroad by any rental car companies. I have made this mistake twice in 10 years. How this company is still operating is beyond me. It was a mistake the second time and only remembered the problem I had on the plane to Valencia. Gold car didn’t accept it 10 years ago and the same again. I didn’t get my money back.

I rent a car online in rentalcars.com for 13 Euros for 1 day, when I went to pick up in the airport, the car rental company asked me for 93 euros extra. This was NOT optional. So I left without any car and lost the money paid at rentalcars.com.Never again with this site.

Scammed by Avis Budget in Stockholm Airport as they keep charging me on my card long after the trip. Rentalcars claim they can’t do anything about it even though the car was booked through their website. Do not use their services.

Expect to lose your deposit
I rented a car in Bulgaria through Rentalcars. Their local partner turned out to be a thug outfit with no office, no document issued upon return and a 100% rate of just keeping people's deposits – according to a 100% fully negative Google rating profile. Now, my contract is with Rentalcars, but they absolutely refuse to deal with this since I entered into a contract with them through a third party website. That site says correctly that they are not a part of this contract. Meanwhile Rentalcars' entirely useless 'service' literally wrote to me that their hands are tied anyway regarding actions of their local partners. Hence they fully assist in this scam. My loss: 510€.
