Terrible experience

Hired for a move from NY to NC. Over-promised, under-delivered. The list of complaints is long. They were uncommunicative at all times, very hard to get in touch with. They showed up late for pickup. They destroyed several pieces being transported. They were 4 days late on delivering. They refused to unload the truck unless given *cash*, would not even take a personal check. And, was not as cheap as originally quoted. Basically, nothing good to say about them at all.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the contractors that the Moving Direct Van Lines brokerage company worked with

I was extremely dissatisfied with the All Saints contractors that this brokerage company worked with for the following reasons:1. I received a reasonable quote on the phone after giving a detailed list of inventory to be moved twice. Moving Direct indicated that there was no need to visit the premises for a more accurate quote. However on the day of the move, the contractors indicated I would need to pay over $900.00 more because there was more furniture - quite a shock as I provided measurements.2. On the date of the move, the payments expected from the contractor on that day along with the payment types were never discussed and quite unexpected. One of the movers as well was extremely unprofessional when I contracted Moving Van Direct Lines about processing the payments.3. The actual date to move my furniture to the final destination took way longer than expected (over 1week) and I had to continually follow up with Moving Van Direct for an update which was poor.4. On the date of the move to the final destination, the contracted moving company at that time that they were not able to load from the truck to my door and if they were to find another way it would cost an additional $900.00 + cash which I was not prepared to pay as I was not aware of this. In addition, the contractors only accepted USPS Money Orders or Zelle which was never communicated before. So I had to rent a U-Haul truck and have them load into that truck on a side street, drive to my location and offload the furniture there. This was highly inconvenient as I was unaware how to assemble the furniture they de-assembled that was never de-assembled after purchasing from furniture store years before. In my experience, the communication between the brokerage company and contractors was highly lacking, making for a very disappointing experience.5. I asked for my complaint to be passed on to the owner of the company who never responded.6. One piece of furniture was lost and not returned. In repeated calls, I found out that that even though they claim the item was not found, they did not have a complete description noted on the specifics of that item even though I had submitted that before. I submitted a claim but never hear back about the status of that claim. I continue to follow up with the company about the lost filing cabinet which I am hoping they will locate.7. The only positive experience I had is with the person I initially contacted to schedule the move at the Moving Direct Van Lines - who seemed to be very professional. However, with all the negative experiences that I have had with this move, it over shadows the positive.

Im still waiting for my furniture to be…

Im still waiting for my furniture to be delivered from PA to NY. Very misleading. Was told everything would be delivered within 1-3 days. Lady on phone, which is not the actual company that moves you, is now telling me she told me 1-3 business days. She did not tell me this. Ontrack movers who are actually moving my things, told me 1-7 days. Im sitting in New york with no furniture. Movers then jack up the price when they get there, not what i was quoted, wanted to charge me an additional 1700 dollars. will not ever use this company again. either of them. Very misleading. Do not deal with Marie at Moving direct she is a liar! I also find it very funny that the movers themselves only accept cash or money order, something tells me they are working off the books. IRS might want to check into this. The movers name is On Track moving based out of New Jersey. Have been dealing with someone named walter.

This company scammed us and took our money. Then then sent there people and pretended to be another company we had hired and tried to steal our money. The worst company to hire. This company is very unprofessional as well. Please use another company.

Bait and Switch or just a scam??

Bait and Switch or just a scam??Here is the email I sent to Moving Direct Van Lines. I think it explains my situation well. At the bottom is what I received in response to this email You may be aware of the issues we encountered today with our move. The movers showed up as scheduled and I went through the house showing them the items to be moved. They then did their own walk through to estimate the cubic feet of space needed. They presented me with a new estimate of over $16,500. This estimate was approximately $7,100 over the price I received from Moving Direct Van Lines. I could not understand how their estimate was 74% higher than the price I received from your company. The explanation was that I had more cubic square feet than the estimate. How can the two be that different? I couldn't sign an agreement that was so much higher than what I was expecting. After several calls between Moving Direct and the actual movers, the movers went through every item that was on "Articles List" including every box and size of each. I was off on my count. I did not include one (1) medium size box, one (1) saw stand and one (1) small desk chair/stool. I was over on my count of "small boxes". Maybe a total of 7-10 cu. ft., $70-$100 based on the contracted price of $10.00 per cu. ft.The mover reduced their estimate to $14,000, still a 47% increase over the price I was expecting to pay. I countered at $11,000 and my counter was not accepted. The problem I have is that the list of items to be moved was fairly straight forward. How could there be that much discrepancy between pricing?? The movers left without moving any items. I talked to your rep. regarding a refund of money deposited in the amount of $3,171. He stated that I was past the refund date as it had to be 3 days prior to the move date. I understand this policy if a person was to cancel the move but I take issue with the policy when it was clearly communicated to Movers Direct Van Lines what items needed to be moved and the items were as described.I feel I should be entitled to a full refund of $3,171. I have disputed the charges with American Express in the amount of $2,700 and Visa in the amount of $471.I look forward to your response. The response I received from Movers Direct Van Lines is that per the contract, I needed to cancel 3 days prior to the move date which I did not. However the contract I signed was for $9,000, not $16,500 or $14,000.BEWARE of this company, use a reputable company, not a broker. FYI, I ended up going with a national local mover. They met with me at my home, reviewed all items to be moved and I received a firm price of $9,500.

This has been the worst experience…

This has been the worst experience ever. Katherine Jones is a complete LIAR! She assured me that I would get my move once I got my apartment nor later than one day, all I had to do was call her to let her know. Once I did that she avoided my calls and texted me that customer service would give me a call! Right there I knew something was off. Customer service calls informing me that my move was still in WA and not in Texas and that would take another 20 days for it to arrive! This was unacceptable. When I texted Katherine about it, she denies everything she once told me and then goes on to blame me as if I was the one the misunderstood. Not to mention that she gave me a quote and when the movers actually came, which is a third party by the way, they charged me another $400 for a 2 foot artificial plant!!! I have called numerous times and everyone says something different. Today finally my move arrived and most of my boxes have damage, my son’s furniture has dents and the tv, which Katherine assured they would pack well, is in a made up mirror box laying flat!!! A 75”flat screen!! I am beyond devastated!

Worst company ever

We consider this to be just a bait and switch company. We worked very hard to give up all the information that we had available to us. We were assured over and over that our equipment could be moved with our household items. The whole thing was awful. The moving company that actually came out to help us was very helpful at the beginning, and then because of the distress on both sides it became Confrontational. Catherine was amazing on the phone but the pictures of the everything that we did was not enough we were given a discount that the moving company did not offer when I called them I was told it was our fault for not signing the updatedupdated confirmation and that it’s just not true. We signed it and it went back in. When we asked what what do we do with our equipment when the contracted movers would not move it they told me to call Uber Freight, they do not move equipment for the general population. They only do it for companies. I am so disappointed. I will do everything in my power to make sure that these folks to not they cannot bait and switch anyone else. Contacting a local mover to move our equipment. They explained to me which nobody else did that if they cannot move equipment with household goods it’s illegal.

Moving direct is a 1 star company

Moving direct moved me from California to Texas well air 1 did they just brokered the dealThe first person I talked to just straight up liedI wish I had something good to say about my move but even after raising the rate twice it ended up costing me another $2000 after air 1 got to my houseAnd then at delivery time it was another $500 just don’t use this company it’s not worth it. The original quote was $4800 by the time I got to Texas it was just under $10,000. You will be disappointed The quote is not accurateSome items will be damagedIf you have them store stuff, it will smell and be dirty when you get it back

WARNING SCAMMERS SCAMMERS!!!

WARNING SCAMMERS SCAMMERS!!!Do not use them. They send a bunch of hustlers to your house & immediately they start to hustle you. They’ll say some B.S. about you’re over the amount that you initially told them. Then, attempt to extort you $1000’s more. They won’t let you use a CC for your deposit. This way when you realize that you’ve been scammed you have no recourse. Fortunately, I managed to use my CC for a portion & my CC got that money back. Working on the rest through other means. P.S. LADIES beware! They will tout that they’re a “woman owned company”. Don’t trust the ladies that you’ll initially deal with. How you’ll know they’re lying is when they’re mouths are moving. You’ve been warned!

Moving Direct Van Lines is Terrible

Moving Direct Van Lines utilizing On Track Movers moved me from NJ to FL and lost my big screen TV, damaged bedroom furniture and broke glassware/ceramics. At least $5k in damages and provided only $60 after insurance claim. Don’t use Moving Direct Van Lines nor On Track Movers.

I reached out for estimates on a NY-FL move and Katherine Jones from Moving Direct was one of the first to contact me. In all, I received 4 estimates but Katherine’s professionalism, from day 1, surpassed the others. From the virtual in-home estimate, the full disclosure on any possible charges I could incur(which I didn’t) to helping me find a car transport company, Katherine was the consummate professional. I found some other companies to either be too aggressive or too sleazy or missing items which could impact my pricing. She was thorough, courteous and respectful. And their services aren’t inexpensive but they weren’t the most expensive, either. I will definitely refer my friends/family and use their services again. 10 out of 10. So happy!

SCAMMERS

SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS!Red flag #1: They are brokers. They will not disclose this upfront. If you’re a woman, Katherine Jones will tout that they are “women owned company”. Red flag #2: They use virtual assistance, YUMBO, to evaluate your items, then assure you of it’s 99% accuracy. IT IS NOT! They don’t want to or they are too lazy to come out & assess for themselves. Then they farm out your move to some unknown company. The day of your move - the movers will claim they weren’t aware of all your items, even though it is on their inventory list. When that doesn’t work they start to hustle you, making up reasons why they are extorting you for $1000 more, i.e. your items are too big, you have too many this or that. I moved from a 2bdr. apartment!!! When you call the broker, in comes Naomi, they’re so called “customer service personnel”. She will pretend to be shocked by the “hustlers” behavior & supposedly advocate for you by “talking to the moving company’s admins”, but truly they’re all in on the SCAM. At the end, they won’t answer your calls, give you the runaround, then refuse to return your deposit after you choose not to be extorted. Don’t be defrauded by these unscrupulous crooks. Don’t be fooled by Katherine Jones and all of her assurances. They’re ALL LIES!!!YOU’VE BEEN WARNED. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

We did not choose to use Moving Direct & the phone call we received afterward was asking for the price we agreed with the moving company we did go with!! What? No. And her remarks were very sparky and unprofessional. I am glad I did not choose to go with this company & I do not recommend this business.

This moving company was absolutely…

This moving company was absolutely terrible. Please do not use them. They hired a 3rd party "moving company" which was just two guys who showed up in an unmarked truck and could barely communicate. They charged me hundreds of dollars over the quoted price, and damaged many of my items moving, as well as leaving damages to the house I moved into. They completely broke my treadmill, left large scratches in the floor, bork the door frames, and drop some of my appliances off the truck.

I would give negative stars but that’s…

I would give negative stars but that’s not an option! Movers confirmed for the 9th so we booked our flights a few days after their scheduled arrival, only form them to say they couldn’t make it the day before their confirmed arrival date. They claimed that they didn’t have any available trucks for our move after the one they booked for us “broke down”. They offered a different date but that would not work for us, and I was not going to move our schedule around for such an unreliable company only for this to happen again. Now I’m losing money on flights that are non refundable and having trouble finding an available uhaul to be out of our current housing by the move out date we agreed on. Also they decided to send a text instead of having the common courtesy to least call. I truly believe they had no real intentions of moving us, because it’s been nothing but a run around. Do not recommend unless you want them to leave you stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am beyond disappointed in the service we received from Moving direct van lines. Overall very stressful and disappointing experience!

Horrible company

Horrible company! Never called to inform of the time that trucks were coming. When I called them to try and find out when they were coming stated that they had called and we didn’t answer which was not the case according to my call records. Grossly underestimated the amount of space to to move a three bedroom house. The total cost was over 200% more than the estimate and contract that was signed. After signing the contract would call the company to ask questions and just be told that they will be called back and never get a call. DO NOT MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE ONLY BROKERS AND ARE A SCAM!

Expert professionals these guys!

Expert professionals these guys!! Armando handled my reservation. He followed up and was available throughout the entire process. Very few issues with communication during the move. The MOVERS are where I was truly, truly impressed. Jimmy and Bob are pros, no doubt about it. I have never had a moving company that handled my things as they were their own. They did and I am very grateful. Absolutely great experience with Moving Direct, will be using again in the future for my next move!

No accountability

No accountability between Moving Direct and who they contract with. Too many items arrived damaged, marred, and broken. Some items never arrived. Better off hiring a mover direct so you know who is responsible for your items. Paid a lot of money for an unsatisfactory experience.
