A New Dedicated Gaming Hosting Service Worth A Look
I’m new to the dedicated server concept for pc gaming. I asked a question on the Enshrouded game Discord channel seeking feedback on best out there from other gamers. Garrett from Infected Game Hosting was the first to respond and held my hand the rest of the way. I am now renting a dedicated server from Infected Game Hosting (IGH) for the game Enshrouded. Set up was easy and I had the server up and running in under an hour. I noticed an immediate difference in the game’s atmosphere on the server. No lag, no character skip with walking. There is ease of biome transition without loading all the biome scenary one block at a time. Character response was spot on. I have no delay in battle, building or when exploring/farming materials. Flying with the glider is less glitchy too. Enshrouded is a new game still in Early Access with a lot of performance issues and a lot of graphic intense scenery. Once connected to IGH’s dedicated server, the game felt like a released title that had been out for 5 years! The technology for the rented server is well implemented, too. I had to spend a bit of time with one of Infected Game Hosting’s owners, Garrett, on the day of set up. I was trying to load a saved game file into the dedicated server so I didn’t have to start a new character. This is a chore that is relatively easy to do but due to the game’s development issues as well as the Steam client file translation to the server, I had issues for hours. It wasn’t IGH server related yet Garrett assisted me into the night hours making this file transfer seamless. After almost entire day of struggling with every possible option he came back into the picture and had my game up and running in under a half hour. You can try IGH for 24-48 hours risk free before deciding if this is right for you. The server rental cost is tiered and you can upgrade or downgrade with ease when needed. The cost of the server is comparable to other hosting services give or take a few dollars depending on which company you are comparing too. I could have gone with a more established company with a known reputation (good or bad) and large customer base. But I liked the fact that IGH is a newer company. This means the owners are still committed to growing the company, care about its customers and willing to step up when needed. When asked, the CEO explained he had used other dedicated servers from other companies in the past and experienced the same pros and cons with each as other gamers have reviewed. Taking that into consideration, he developed IGH with the gamer in mind. As a gamer himself he knows what we want and how we want it. The customer support is stellar as far as setup and resolving any issues when encountered. We all know in today’s world it’s hard to reach quality customer support and someone that likes their job as well as knows what they are doing without transferring you to 3 other people before you reach someone that can help. The customer support is 24/7 and is available globally. Infected Game Hosting has a limited amount of games available to date on their website. However, the owners have a library of 80 plus games they intend to add to the menu soon. I was also told if we don’t see a game we want all we have to do is submit a “ticket” with the request. I enjoy working with newer companies and watching them grow into a successful business. I’m pleased to be part of the growth journey with IGH as a customer and am here to encourage others to do the same.
