customer oriented

Unfortunately, this time we have taken a policy to cover a trip to South Korea and Japan. When the war in the Middle East started we contacted Heymondo because we wanted to change the destination as we decided to go to another country. The operator said it’s impossible to do but if we haven’t used it we can cancel it. Unfortunately the conversation was interrupted but then another operator Ivano has contacted me and we solved the issue. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Joining this insurance was very easy.Our flight was cancelled and we were forced to take out travel insurance to be found.This is the only insurance that allowed us to register for the course with a 72-hour waiting period.

Concerning customer service

I am unable to get hold of anyone through the website or app, always offline. I sent a message and no response. Cannot call until my active travel date in 2 days but require assistance with cancelled flights.

I’m sharing this review as someone who purchased Travel Insurance

I’m sharing this review as someone who has worked in the insurance industry for the past 15 years and understands policy and claims management processes—particularly claims lodgement.Unfortunately, my experience with Iris Global (the underwriter for my Heymondo annual travel insurance policy) has been extremely disappointing. I purchased the annual policy and deliberately selected multiple add-ons (higher cover, electronics cover, and additional sports cover) because I understand the importance of adequate protection. However, the true measure of an insurer is how they handle claims—and in my case, the claims process has been poor.During my trip between December 2025 and January 2026, I had two incidents:Claim 1 – Missed connection / overnight expenses (Santiago, Chile):I missed my connecting flight from Santiago, Chile to Porto Alegre, Brazil and was required to stay overnight in Santiago. I incurred reasonable expenses for accommodation, meals, and incidentals. The delay was well over 12 hours (close to 24 hours), and I understand I am entitled to reimbursement under the policy.Claim 2 – Lost luggage (Viracopos, Brazil to Lisbon, Portugal):On my flight from Viracopos, Brazil to Lisbon, Portugal, my luggage was lost. As a result, I had to purchase essential clothing and basic items while waiting for my baggage to be located and returned.Despite providing the requested information, Iris Global has declined my claims, relying on explanations that I consider inconsistent and difficult to justify. I have also had to resend documents multiple times, and I have not received timely responses when requesting status updates. Overall, the customer service experience has been poor and frustrating.Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this insurer. If you want confidence that claims will be handled fairly and efficiently, I would strongly suggest considering an alternative provider.

Dissapointing

Editing for clarity. It is very difficult to reach them. 24/7 assistance does not exist. I called at night received false information that i should seek medical care ASAP, paid an enormous amount out of pocket only to be told I'd been misinformed and the medical care I needed, because it is on the day of my trip, is invalid if you did not buy the policy on same day of your trip. Not only have I not gotten any kind of refund, I was forced to spend more money our of pocket. I am leaving this review so people don't make the mistake I made.

SCAM!!! This company doesn’t exist read! URGENT NEED TO FILE A COMPLAINT!

UPDATE:IT IS APPALLING TO SAY THE LEAST regarding heymondo’s response! Instead of acknowledging that they’re quickly selling policies on the website IMPROPERLY without getting all the relevant details, itinerary, nor “proper ways” to renew already existing policy etc. and fixing THEIR issues, they’re saying it was “wrongly purchased”!! How the hell can it be wrong when all the questions are answered on the purchase flow and bought as per the website!The companies they’ve contracted already mentioned “Heymondo sold an invalid policy” and this clarifies their tactics and dark patterns (an official and e-commerce terminology) created to lure customers quickly to the cart and completing the purchase with improper processes! I could reduce more stars if I could based on the response! Yes, someone did contact me and we did not discuss NOR DID I ASK FOR OR ACCEPT A REFUND, INSTEAD ASKED THEY ADHERE TO THE CONTRACT PROVIDED, OF ACTUALLY PROVIDING TRAVEL INSURANCE THROUGH THE TERM MENTIONED AS I CANT GET A NEW POLICY MIDWAY THROUGH MY TRAVELS! (Even via BBB) it’s like a cruise ship saying, oops, you need to get off now we improperly sold you a ticket in the middle of the sea! ………There should be thousand negative stars to rate fake illegal businesses like this because this is a TOTALLY ILLEGAL scammy business! I need to find a place to report this. Basically for the record, there is no company called Heymondo, it is just a made up name that everyone points to, to pass the blame. So the policy invoice (if you’re a US Resident) says Starr Insurance companies as the main header logo. There is Clements and “Heymondo” on the side. The number given in the policy goes to a company called “Assist Card” (who will say they belong to Starr Insurance company who sold me the policy) if you’re traveling they will give a run around asking to send sensitive documents like passport etc. over email (highly illegal as those documents should not be sent that way) but I had to end up doing it anyway. I will focus my review on the current HORROR, NIGHTMARE. I am traveling alone and fell down, something could be broken as it is swollen and need to see a doctor, I call the number in the policy and the employees of the company themselves admit that it is invalid they have sold me an invalid policy and ask me to call the USA number. when I call USA number they give another number that looks different but eventually goes to the same assist card who will ask to contact USA again. After pressing multiple options, everyone ends up saying it is invalid and when I ask who is Heymondo, they give the same number that I first called, the one in the policy, which again is “Assist Card” back to square one and one more round of same hell! I am going round in circles for the entire day!Then one employee in the US says it is a “valid policy” underwritten by Starr Insurance and sold by Heymondo, and she will confirm it to the person on the other “assist card”, puts me on hold, then hangs up. Someone else comes online and says it is invalid again and when I ask which company are you, she says “Assist Card” and which company do you belong to, she says Starr Insurance! I tell them the invoice says Starr Insurance company! So basically they are saying they sold me an invalid policy!So they keep pointing to Heymondo whose number is “Assist Card”, back to square one! They give no other number or email. Only “assist card” who is part of Starr Insurace whose name is on the policy and heymondo is nowhere in the picture but they just point to them even though it is them who have underwritten and given the policy! I have omitted the names for privacy reasons and I have recorded them saying they have sold me an invalid policy!I have dates and times of everyone who has mentioned that they cannot do anything and they sell the policy anyway and pocket the money hoping most won’t get sick or won’t follow up with the claim!THESE ILLEGAL COMPANIES SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN OR MADE ANSWERABLE! I had bought one policy for the first time in a few months ago and although it was hell for a 10 dollar claim (same shuttling around literally 20+ times, giving the same info in insecure ways 20 times, No secure website, all sensitive info and HEPA data shared over email, which is also illegal!) I didn’t have time to shop around while traveling and continued with the same (renewing) on the “heymondo” website (it gave me a new policy number) but now they’re saying it is invalid!I NEED TO REPORT THIS and the only number they will give me again, is the number in the policy (“assist card” their own number) which tells me is invalid. I have to find a lawyer who will deal with it, in addition to handling my emergency health issue!I cannot believe how companies can get away with this?!

Very unprofessional. I had to wait in pain at the hospital for ours for them to arrange the payment so I could leave and go get the medicines I urgently needed.It’s ridiculous these people are dealing with people’s health like this.

I have sent numerous emails and only receive your standard response. 1. I cannot sign in to the app as it goes to login with a password and not to a registration page. I have clicked on forgotten password link, no response, I have tried multiple times.2. I purchased for Australia, New Caledonia and cruise, cruise is critical for this trip, I do not see cruise mentioned on the document. I have asked for clarification, no response

Don’t use them

I have two claims opened with them and it's been over 40 days now and still haven't got the money back. update as requested:AV-2122939 was not acknowledged to this day, submitted receipts on 30 Jan.AV-2122953 received email today that payment is being processed.Update as of 20th Feb:Despite receiving emails 5 days ago that payment is being processed I still haven’t received the payment, I also realised I never was asked about the account to send payment to so not sure where is the payment going to .Update as of 26 Feb (!) I think it’s important for people to beware not to use the company. I’m repetitively being told that money from my claims has been processed and they keep pushing the date for when it should land in my account . This is clearly not true as it doesn’t take longer than a working day for payment to be cleared if it’s been processed. I don’t believe at this point I’m being given correct information and it’s not only disappointing but disrespectful, as a customer I shouldn’t be constantly chasing the company to do their job honestly, or having to take the case further, however it seems like there is no resolution to this case from Iris.
