I had a very disappointing experience with Fonus Mobile. The service is honestly one of the worst mobile experiences I’ve had in a long time.First, the customer service is horrible. Getting any kind of support is extremely frustrating and slow. When you actually manage to reach someone, the responses are vague and not very helpful. It feels like they don’t really care about resolving issues or helping their customers.The application itself is also terrible. It’s buggy, poorly designed, and unreliable. For a company that claims to offer modern mobile service, their app feels unfinished and outdated. Basic features that should work smoothly often don’t, which makes managing the service unnecessarily difficult.Another big problem is that their system relies on voice over IP. This technology feels like it’s from the dark ages compared to what real mobile carriers offer today. Call quality can be inconsistent, and the whole experience just doesn’t feel like a proper cellular service.There’s also nothing innovative here at all. The company markets itself like it’s doing something groundbreaking, but in reality it’s just repackaging old technology with a clunky app.On top of that, the plans really aren’t that competitive. There are way better plans available from other carriers that offer real cellular service, better reliability, and better support.2 Factor authentication does not work. Can't push any buttons when phoning as it's voip. NOT WORTH ITOverall, I would not recommend Fonus Mobile. Between the horrible customer service, unreliable app, and outdated VOIP approach, it’s simply not worth it. There are far better options out there.

Don't waste your time.
I spent a lot of time trying to get the service to work. If you're not mildly tech savvy, do not even bother with the service. You need to go into your phone settings and get direction from their support team through their own application. It involves making some changes and adjustments to APN and another setting. I got this service for their Global Roaming services and the phone briefly worked at one my layovers. Enough to use 0.01gb of data according to their app. I was otherwise not able to use the service.Fonus ultimately failed to provide the service I paid for, and would not provide a refund. It's a bit of a gamble to go with them, and they do not stand behind their (lack of) service.

I am british citizen and living in Manchester I bought fonus plan and start to calling they suddenly my out going calls block and tell me you cant use commercial/fraudulent/spam etc. I tell them my all calls you can see in contact list my family and friends I want to clear you ask with any contact number which you tell me it's wrong but they not answer and my calls still block I want to this is fraudulent work before they published its unlimited when you calls with your friends they stop the out going calls i want to say this company is not trust able so please don't waiste your time and money please no body answer after and no respond you when you want to ask .Regards My fonus Number is 07441428579

Throttled ‘unlimited’ with no clear limit. No Customer Support
I’m about a month into trying to get support from Fonus and I still don’t have meaningful answers to basic questions. Messages sometimes go unanswered for a week at a time, and most replies just repeat the Fair Usage Policy rather than addressing what I’m actually asking.I wanted to like Fonus because the pricing and “international unlimited” concept is really appealing for travelers. When it works, it’s convenient to have one plan that’s meant to function across countries. Unfortunately, my experience has been that “unlimited” comes with throttling for “excessive use,” even when you’re using the service normally on the go. They say my line was throttled for “excessive use,” but they won’t clearly explain what specific rule I supposedly violated beyond “high data usage” on an unlimited plan. The biggest issue is that they appear to throttle once you hit some internal data range, but they will not clearly specify what that threshold is. I repeatedly asked: when does throttling happen on the unlimited plan, what is the internal limit, and how can a customer stay compliant—and they just don’t answer.Customer support has been the most disappointing part. It has taken weeks of back-and-forth to get no meaningful responses, and many replies just repeat talking points without providing clear, actionable guidance on what level of data use triggers throttling. I’ve also had issues with core plan features like calling—my number has not worked reliably when I needed it—and at one point my service stopped working entirely while I was still trying to get answers.If you’re a very light user and don’t need dependable support, it might be okay. But if you rely on predictable data while traveling, need your phone number to work consistently, and expect timely customer support, I would be cautious and consider other options.

Fonus just cut my services peerwnding that i used too much data. Rhey say its a term violation. Everywhere they advice UNLIMITED. The say that I just have to check the terms. What i sid and its never mentionne anywhere that their is a maximum of data use. And no where that after a specific amount of data use ita a violation of their terms. That company juste.abuse and take your money but don't give the serviceSince the first day, im unable to stream, take 10 or 15 minutes to load, and stop and freeze every 2 minutes. Just navigate on internet, facebook take 5 or 10 minutes to load a page. I write to support the first day and then many times, and the answer is got his, I have the max plan, what is the most expensive one and that im " throttled" so i have to read the condition of use of their service. Thats the answer ive got from Émilie, of Fonus support. Im in Canada, and with all other cell ohone company i never ever had any trouble to use 5G and stram, or work. But with Fonus, i just took 60$ and trow it to garbage because they dont care about your experiences and the fact that you cant use their service on 5G as they sell and advise everywhere. They just take your money and dont care after that. Really the worst ever mobile/internet services i had in my life.

I'm in Puerto Vallarta for the winter. Fonus mobile uses Movistar for data, it constantly disconnects making it very difficult and unreliable. I contacted customer service and I was rudely told that if I don't like the service, I can stop using it. Not the response I thought I would get from a reputable company.
