I have been a member for over a year

I have been a member for over a year, and for me living in New Hampshire, this is the best, most affordable way to buy quality wines that are delicious. The value beats the liquor store, even here in NH where we we have lower prices due to low taxes. When I lived in California I could get great deals at Grocery Outlet, but nothing like that here in NH. My only complaint is how sometimes the wine selections in your order automatically change and you have to call in to get the ones you want added back to your cart so you can confirm the selections.

Wine club penalized me for their mistake

I cancelled my membership two to three months ago (October or November of 2025) and apparently for some reason in their system it didn't completely cancel the membership. This has happened once before in the past . As a result they have sent me a package that I did not request and do not want, and fraudulently charged my credit card for the order.but apparently I have to pay for it. Thinking this was an accident and an oversight I contacted them to let them know that my membership had already been canceled and I should not be receiving any packages from them. I told them that they should cancel the shipment and refund anything charged to my card. The customer service agent tells me that the only option for me at this time to refuse the package and send it back, and apparently pay for a restocking fee of $25. I should not have to pay anything when they shipped me a package that i did not request nor did I give permission for it to be charged to my credit card. The company is not a reputable company if they cannot fix an issue like this, that should never happen in the first place, and make the customer happy. I should not have to pay for the package nor should I have to return the package that they sent by accident and that is not my fault. But they are making me pay for their mistake. What a horrible business model. In addition when I sent the email telling them that my account had already been canceled and I wanted no more packages sent, that same afternoon I received two phone calls from their call center trying to get me to change my decision and place my membership on hold rather than canceling. This has happened multiple times when I had chosen to cancel my membership in the past. It is very annoying and I will never join their club again. Also, I have only been part of this club for a year and have received the same wines in different shipments on multiple occasions. In fact, this current shipment that they have sent includes yet another duplicate from a shipment I received at the beginning of last year. Apparently they don't have a very wide selection if they have to keep sending the same wines over and over. Definitely not worth the money! Don't waste your time or money on this business!First Leaf just responded and said that they expected to have sent me an email confirming that an order was shipping. I did not get an email confirming the order was shipping I only received an email stating that the order had been shipped. I had no opportunity to stop this order or cancel any further orders not realizing that it was actually not canceled on their end. They also stated that I should have received a cancellation email. If it didn't get completely canceled on their end the way it should have been when I contacted them I would not have received a cancellation email. And I did not. I would have no way to know that I would have received a cancellation email before actually trying to cancel this account. I do however have an email that was sent to me a long time ago stating that my account was now paused until April of 2026. However here it is January and they are shipping me an order. I will see if it's possible to attach a screenshot of this email to this review so that anyone can see that the account was supposedly paused if it wasn't even canceled and should not have shipped anything out until at the earliest April of 2026.Unfortunately this platform will not allow me to insert a copy of the email however if first Leaf wants to reach out to me and let me know that they would like to see it I certainly would be happy to do so.I have already sent that to the person that contacted me to tell me you were making me pay for this order sent in error. Here name was Lucila.01/28/2026I just Re-sent my response and the screenshot of the email that I received stating that my account was on pause because I still have not yet received any kind of a response from your customer service team and now it has been about 6 days. Although you stated in your response and I would hear something back right away I have not heard anything at all and nothing has been done. In addition I just received notification that this shipment is out for delivery and I am not quite sure how to handle it. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to refuse it or receive it and then turn around and send it back? I do expect that somebody will get back to me as soon as possible so that we can get this taken care of.

A very transactional experience

I accidentally threw out the guide with the box and did not know anything about the wine I was drinking. I did not receive any personalized texts about my subscription or the wines in my box, only shipping notifications (my package was also late due to damage). I signed up to receive marketing texts on 10/16 and did not receive a single one to date.I contacted customer service and clicked the option for a call/email back when I canceled my subscription and I never received one, even weeks later. I also sent several emails, but I was never helped or contacted. I unfortunately canceled my subscription due to the transactional feel of this "service" that I was expecting to feel more personalized. 3 of the 6 wines I tried were good.

Generally I like their wines, but…

Generally I like the wines that FirstLeaf picks for me. However, I'm having trouble finalizing an order for a particular wine that FirstLeaf offers, but, when it's low in stock, cannot easily fulfill. The inventory shortage seems to preclude placing an order. Very frustrating!

The best customer support (and wines!)

Really great customer support when FedEx lost my wine box. They dug deeper into the issue and eventually sent me a new box with all my previous selections. I love this service and would recommend it 10/10.

We are new to Firstleaf Wine

We are new to Firstleaf Wine. After 4 shipments we are hooked. Out of 24 bottles we only found 1 that didn't meet our taste. Continually rate the wines for others in our pallet.

Scam company

Scam company. I attempted to cancel my service in September and was under the impression it had been cancelled. I was surprised by a charge on my card, and contacted them asking them to respect my intent to cancel. Instead, they forced me to pay a $25 "restocking fee" for a shipment that hadn't even been made.Use a reputable wine club, not this, unless you like being talked down to by customer service managers who want to fight you over $25.

Great intro wine club!

I’ve been a Firstleaf member for a while now, and overall it’s been a great experience. This was my first wine club, so I didn't know what to expect. The club is affordable, easy to use, and the membership tiers are logical and make sense. The quality of the wines is consistently solid. I’ve discovered a ton of new wines, wineries, and distributors I never would have come across otherwise. That said, the selections can get a bit repetitive. When you rate a wine highly, you’re more likely to see that same bottle again rather than similar styles or varietals. The best way I’ve found to keep things interesting is to switch to the 12-bottle box every few shipments. That’s where you’ll see more variety. Then drop back down to six bottles for regular deliveries. All in all, Firstleaf offers great value for the money and a reliable way to explore new wines without overpaying.

In the beginning I told you the wines I…

In the beginning I told you the wines I prefer and that has always been what you have sent. I have enjoyed learning about all the great wines around the world that would not have been easy to discover. I still prefer my dry reds, but I have expanded my favorites list to wines which you introduced to me. I recommend this club to anyone thinking about wine clubs and told them I have never been disappointed with any wine I have received.

Good Club for wine novices

The wines I have experienced are, overall, just fair. Even upgrading to more Fine Wine selections didn't change the overall quality experience. I still see the club as a solid value, but now understand that there won't be many "Unicorn" type surprises at these price points...which is fine. I do like the idea of supporting smaller producers in an effort to help them gain exposure. I feel the rating system needs more than just up and down thumbs. There is far more nuance to wine preferences than a simple up "like or dislike". Additional commentary that allows for a more detailed explanation of a rating would help drill down on a real preference criteria. With the advent of AI, I assume there is a way to make productive use of such commentary, and get closer to a member's individual wine preferences.

Good wines & good service

I’ve been with Firstleaf a number of years and have enjoyed many great wines at a fair price. These are quality wines, both within and outside of their “fine wines selections.” I’ve also developed a very good relationship with one of their wine concierges who knows my taste preferences and who has led me to many of my favorite wines.
