I just used and visited digital Dakota

I just used and visited digital Dakota. It was amazing. They were the nicest people and they make an amazing bunch of products. They are making a gauge cluster for my 1949 Chevy sedan and we just installed their system in the car that fit perfectly. If you ever get a chance to stop by and see their display you’ll be amazed. Thanks so much Justin Olsen for the hospitality and the tour. I wish I’d have had the time to get to see the full tour. You can’t go wrong using their products. So….i purchased the gauge cluster for…

So….i purchased the gauge cluster for my 1967 Mustang. Pretty straightforward installation. Good instructions. My issue is with the coolant sensor. First one was 30 degrees high. I informed DD and they told me to move the sensor to a different location so I moved it onto the manifold. No help. Then I had to “prove” the sensor was wrong. So I heated a cup of water and used a IR sensor to record temp. I then dropped in the DD sensor in the water and yes, off by 30 degrees. So they sent another. Not much better. Off by 25 degrees (high). Did the same thing to prove it to myself as well as I installed another sensor to confirm. My other sensor and the IR gun were within 2 degrees of each other and the DD sensor was high by 25. Noticed on the video I watched of another guy having the same issue. Not real sure where to go from here. It is unnerving looking at the temp at over 200 even though I know the sensor is wrong.considering the cost of this set up, I shouldn’t have to install a separate temp gauge to get an accurate reading…

I ordered the MXL for 2014…

I ordered the MXL for 2014 Harley-Davidson Limited. I installed my gauges. the install was easy. I took the bezels off my voltage gauge and my gas gauge. The bezel that was installed on my bike on the speedo and the tach was sort of stamped on. I didn't realize that you had to take that off as it was somewhat of a little pain in the ars. Once they explain that to me I was able to get it off and put the gauges in 100% correct. Set up was fairly simple when you use the app with the written instructions that come with the gauges. Now my major problem that I hope I save someone else for paying this much money for these gauges. I can only see in the daytime with my sunglasses my speedometer and my tachometer. I cannot see gauge one or gage two unless I pull my sunglasses down then I can see them. I'm sure everybody can see when you're cruising down the highway at 85 mile an hour who wants to adjust your sunglasses just so they can see all the gauges that you just spent $1,000 for. I don't think this is a very safe product because you can't see your gauges without altering your view ahead of you. I have two things on those guages that I couldn't care less about so I don't look at them. So that means I'm not getting what I paid for. Be wise, check to see what Harley's got for their new gauges look for a different manufacturer but above all do your research and make sure that you can see all four of your gauges

I’m not satisfied at all with my first…

I’m not satisfied at all with my first time dealing with this company. Their unprofessional. I had an order that was made unintentionally with out my consent. I canceled the order and I have not gotten my refund back. I talk with someone named Justin who was arguing with me about sending back my refund. He falsely stated that he a has not heard from my bank but when I called they said they have. I’m not understanding what is the problem with giving me my money back. I’m disabled on a fixed income and being treated as if I did something wrong. I do not recommend shopping here. I will never in my life do it. “UNSATISIFIED”

I purchased a cluster for my 1995…

I purchased a cluster for my 1995 Mustang GT. Looks great now that I finally have it all working correctly. Has been a hurtle due to lack of good information. Dakota should and could easily make specific installation instructions for what they are selling. And not be so vague. I have been a licensed mechanic for over 40 years and if you follow what they have and are able to read between the lines you will do well. Found out from Dakota Tech that I could have kept and used my original oil and temp senders. That would have saved some steps. The high beam light kept flashing so I had to get a bypass plug from Ford for my day time running light module or my brake light would be on as you can’t just unplug it. So now no day time running lights no big deal. What I did find annoying was I used the tech line twice to try and figure out why my tach did not work correctly. They said I needed a msd 8618 pick up to do it. Wrong. Bought one and it did not work and when I called msd they said no it is not designed for my system. They said to just run my tach off the ground side of the coil. Did that now it works great. It is a good product however the installation side of the company needs to be addresses. Then they would have one awesome product. Thanks Dave from Canada 🇨🇦

RTX68CCACX was purchased for a 1968…

RTX68CCACX was purchased for a 1968 Camaro SS I spent a lot of money on the gauge set and an all new wire harness with factory correct connectors. Dakota dose not have a plug to plug into the stock gauge cluster plug. So I was told to cut into my new wire harness. I do not want to do that. It is lowering the integrity of my new harness and then leaves me with no good way to go back if I want to.

Very impressed with their customer…

Very impressed with their customer support, I miss place one of the clips for the wiring harness and contacted Dakota . Cameron contacted me immediately and 3 days later I was able to finish my project.

Miss advertisement

Dash cluster background color does not match advertised pic. Called Dakota digital after purchasing a dash cluster that was supposed to be silver close to white, something that reflected the picture they have online, only to receive a dark gray cluster. Call Dakota digital. They stated if I wanted something more to the color on the picture that would cost two more hundred dollars for a white or silver cluster. Cluster color is a dark gray.

Beautiful gauges, but almost worthless in daylight

Handlebar mounted digital gauges are difficult if not impossible to read in daylight. Left message for Dakota Digital Customer Service. Response was quick...however I was told that the only fix was in the configuration settings. However this did not fix the problem. Dakota Representative was adamant that it was not a "product issue". This is a known issue...it is all over the internet. Seems Dakota is trying to deflect the issue as not being due to the design of the product....huh? Your gauges should be readable in all circumstances...its is a safety and legal liability issue. If I look down to see my gauges and cant the least of my problems would be receiving a speeding ticket the worst...well.... You would think Dakota Digital would work on a solution or at least offer some sort of quick fix... the configuration settings are useless in this instance. I cannot in good conscience recommend Dakota Digital....beautiful gauges, but almost worthless in daylight.

Incredibly courteous and professional…

Incredibly courteous and professional staff. I was treated as if I was a 'Platinum Plus' customer by TJ. He let me know every step of the way from our initial conversation of a diagnostic on my gauge to completing and shipping it within the two day timeframe he had indicated.

This company picks favorites

This company picks favorites, and let’s family work with family and if you aren’t apart of that family then you will get treated like crap. No matter how much efforts you put in with them. The management sucks. There was only one good supervisor in the pcb area (soldering) she was amazing/ professional/kind & cared about her employees in her area. but other than that no one knows what they are doing. The lady in HR acts more like a friend to people then actual HR so once again sides always are being taken. They enforce all these new rules that no one follows because they don’t speak up when they see someone going against it. It’s all about drama and picking sides with that place. I’d consider your options before going to work for a company like that. They will drain you mentally. Bully’s all around and not a good work environment. Pretty sure they aren’t following any rules when it comes to osha. The supervisors have no clue how to be a MATURE/ PROFESSIONAL supervisor. If you like working with people who do bare minimum this is the place for you! Slack workers slack supervisors. Slack management that do not care about their hard working employees. Instead would rather keep bare minimum workers because they are family! They will turn on you so fast no matter what you have done for them as a company. Ungrateful and absolutely one of the worst jobs I have ever had.

Dimmer switch replacement...

I can't thank Tim more for helping me out with replacing the dimmer switch that I bought broke . Even though I still fill it should be part of the kit . Tim understood stood and was understanding about the first one breaking and got me a replacement pretty quickly and what a difference from the first switch to the second one he sent me .

Dakota Digital upgrade for my Chopper!

I have had a lot of motorcycles in my lifetime. I have also done a lot of upgrades to my motorcycles. But getting Dakota Digital Guages for my 2008 Thunder Mountain Keystone Chopper yesterday was the most excited I have ever been about a single upgrade!It's literally like having a dog for years and then suddenly the dog can talk to you!With these gauges I have cylinder head temp, oil pressure, fuel percentage remaining, miles to empty, hours the motorcycle has run, RPM, speed, speed in Kilometers per Hour, 0 to 60 times, 1/4 mile times, top speed, highest RPM, clock, gear position, 2 trip meters, odometer and probably more that I can't think of right now!All in a stylish single digital gauge. RPM also shows as LED around the rim as I change to other screens. This whole set up is absolutely amazing!If you're considering new gauges, speedometer, etc buy Dakota Digital for your ride!Shout out to CA Harley for hooking me up!MavEryck Redondo Beach, CA

My understanding these are great gauges and I’d like to have one but unfortunately either they don’t have the manpower to produce them make them or the parts that go in on him I ordered some from Summit couple months turned into a couple months and then another couple months and then September and who the heck knows when we’ll get these gauges I’m very disappointing him you know sport specially when you have to pay in advance just don’t know what to do at this point do I need to come and help them up in the manufactures warehouse or what

AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE! Shout out to Justin Olsen who helped me with a wire harness issue I had. Sending me a replacement harness for free and didn't even have to and I was prepared to pay for one. He was quick in responding to my enquire and very professional. Just to add...their product is fantastic I get alot of compliments on the look of the dash cluster.
