Not very practical way of generating reasonable proof to submit to the government
They don't understand the complexities of the tax filing for Canadian citizens, especially for those who newly became resident. I think they deal with more US citizen cases. They overly focused on a method/scenario of proving the amount of crypto owned that probably doesn't really work when submitting documentation to the government. If you don't think you will be audited, you can use their report. In my case, I have been through some cases where I have been audited, and I know that this wo'nt work. I thought I would see what method they had to assess if it would be useful for me but it didn't seem that useful. They are not going to go into your crypto databases. I ended up going back to my own calculations and figuring it out myself

Working with CountDeFi was a great experience! Since I began my crypto venture, I've never really felt good about my crypto tax reporting. Most of the regular CPA's in my area had no knowledge of how to report crypto tax. With the help of Bianca and the team at Count DeFi, we were able to do a deep dive into my entire transaction history from Day 1 and compile accurate tax reports based off of my entire transaction history across all exchanges and wallets. I now feel I am in a much better place and no longer have to feel worried that I haven't reported something properly. CountDeFi is top notch with a team of knowledgeable people working together to accomplish the task at hand. Granted the data collection takes a little time depending on your record keeping, but it is very thorough, which allows them to create a very accurate tax report. I owe much thanks to the CountDeFi team, and I definitely plan on utilizing their services every year moving forward with my crypto tax reporting!

I reached out to CountDefi for help with my crypto taxes on an impossible timeline—10 days to sort through thousands of trades. Bryan was extremely responsive, professional, and willing to accommodate despite the crunch. In the end I had to do it myself given the short window, but if I’d had more time I would have gone with them. I began my crypto journey in 2022 and opened accounts on several exchanges, held cold wallets and didn’t do a good job keeping records between them all. Not wanting to deal with the mess, I constantly told myself I will clean my records when Its time to file taxes. I realized quickly trying to reconcile transactions between different wallets and exchanges was more than I could handle due to the level of complexity and my limited knowledge, not to mention some wallets didn’t export csv for koinly or have all the records of its transactions. These guys know what they’re doing and they painlessly guided me through the process. I’m satisfied with the results and will likely use them again to relieve me from the stress of it all.

Such a pleasant experience from start to finish. Countdefi is really the best out there, especially for the price and the expertise you are getting. I was worried for years about all the thousands of crypto txs I have done, ranging from nfts, ordinals, memecoins etc that it would be impossible to figure it all out.
