CloudDevs's interview process is trash
I recently applied to CloudDevs, which is kind of a lesser-known competitor to TopTal - a freelancing platform for devs. I thought it was a legit platform since there were positive reviews about them online, for example by customers on Reddit, or on TrustPilot -- however I was wrong.After a strange initial video call -- that was a short series of questions that could have been filled up in a form -- they sent me an React online assessment which was pretty easy. After finishing that, I didn't hear from them for a month. Then suddently I got some emails requesting to schedule a zoom call for a "Talent follow up" by this person called Alfie.On the day of the call, I show up, and wait, and wait, and keep waiting, and after 15 minutes have passed, I realize I was just ghosted by Alfie - without any communication from her. I send her an email and a day later she responds saying she doesn't know what happened and would like to reschedule. I reschedule 2 days later, and yet again, I was ghosted.Frankly I don't know what to say. I sent them an angry email and haven't heard back from them.Not sure why they want to act this unprofessionally. Be careful with this shady platform, they also made me upload my ID as part of their "interview process", which I regret doing.

Antipathy and poor communication
They didn't give enough details about the position they were asking me for. They called me for a technical interview without clearly defining the points to be covered. I was asked to present a project I had been working on without asking anything in specific, as if there was no focus to the interview.The interviewer seemed to be in a rush to end the meeting as quickly as possible and was not kind or friendly.After the meeting, they never contacted me to give me any feedback.

Working with Clouddevs as a freelancer
The process with cloud devs was really straightforward and the opportunities presented to me made sense with what I was looking for, and they were the fastest platform in regards to finding a match for me. I just wish that they had been a little bit more clear regarding the requirements to have a screenshot monitoring tool running on our work computer earlier in the process, but overall it has been a good experience.

Great place to find freelance remote works
I have been working with CloudDevs for the past 6 months and I can say that it is one of the best platform to find freelance remote works I have found. I can choose to work on projects based on my preferences and they have lots of them. Best part is I can just focus on doing the works for clients, and CloudDevs will take care of many daunting tasks for freelancer like payments and other administrative tasks.The vetting process could be a bit hard, especially the one with clients, but that's why they can have talented devs, quality over quantity, unlike many other platform that's too crowded so it's hard to start on projects.

I had been looking to hire a remote dev…
I had been looking to hire a remote dev for several weeks, but needed a very particular tech stack that was hard to come by. Most platforms that had the specific talent were either from east or south asia which really wasn’t going to work for me as i’m based in the US and needed to collaborate with the talent frequently.Super stoked that a friend of mine recommended clouddevs, as all their talents are from south america so it makes it convenient for me to collab.
