scams and frauds

Ive gotten nothing worth while on Career Builder. Mostly all job offers from Head hunters and Job placement companies. Also from companies that are located outside of my preferred radius from where I live. Numerous Scam jobs for logistics fraud companies. As well as career titles that have absolutely nothing to do with my skills and abilities. Now im getting emails and Texts from scammers. And VMs that wont stop. I tried to make changes. Nothing available. I even tried to make my Profile hidden… it doesn’t exist. So now I was forced to Block all emails as scams and frauds. There is no assistance for Employment seekers. The one tab directs any job seeker to a list of possible solutions. Even after asking AI—the information there is of absolutely no help.

Job Hunting is rarely easy, but really?????

I saw sent to this site by another job referral company to apply for a job that truly interested me. When filling out the on-line application I was very annoyed that I had to scroll through lengthy fields to select the appropriate category when, with a typing speed of 85+ words per minute, I could have complete the entire application in a few second. Once I did complete it and clicked "submit", I got a "404 Site Not Found" error!

The Worst Company Ever

A recruiter will call you and then turn around and send you an email about a job that you never applied for, way too far, low pay and especially there's no interview. It's a waste of time. People are trying to find jobs while other's are just out here scamming people. The next time it's going to be a lawsuit because I never gave permission for my data to used for third parties to just be playing on the phone.

Certified Scam

CareerBuilder has been a huge disappointment. Ever since uploading my resume, I’ve been flooded with scam calls and spam emails from sketchy “recruiters” claiming they found me through their site. It feels like my personal info was sold off without my consent. I’ve reached out multiple times asking them to stop sharing my data, but they’ve done nothing to help. Their lack of concern for user privacy is incredibly frustrating. Avoid if you care about your personal information.

Ive requested SEVERAL times for them to close my account as it does not let you close your own account (first RED FLAG). Ive emailed them several times as well requesting removal of my information. In one within the time span of two hours I have received 8 phone calls, 6 voicemails and 6 text messages about the same one job from multiple people claiming to be different businesses. I have received several text messages and emails from scammers claiming to be job recruiters with sketchy offers. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP ON CAREERBUILDER!!! Worst decision Ive ever made in my life!!!

Worst job site I’ve ever used

Immediately began getting inundated with emails and calls. Majority were scams. Slim percentage were possibly real, but either in a completely unrelated industry or literally across the country (or both). After about a week I wanted to delete my account but…there’s no option to. The instructions to do so are from two years ago, and they seem to have removed the ability to delete your own account.Instead, you go through a very convoluted “delete my personal info” request which involves multiple email code verifications, a customer service review on their end, more emails, and then (supposedly) a waiting period. I am continuing to get scam “job” calls daily, sometimes at 8:00 at night. Absolutely wild

Getting calls for someone else

I keep getting calls for someone else with a name that isn't even close to mine. The VM says they found their resume on careerbuilder and would like to set up an interview. I called customer service to get my number removed from their system and was told they could do that. Received a call back from them the next day and was told they couldn't do it without the email or full name connected to the account. I obviously don't have that information, as it's not my account. The cyber security team wants me to "help them" by talking to the people who are calling me to get that info because they say they can't just remove my phone number without a full name or email. Why should I have to do the work for their cyber security team? Isn't that what they are they for?

Scammers

I usually only use LinkedIn for job searches, but did go to CareerBuilder recently. What I am finding is that there are a number of scammers contacting me via text or email about jobs that I did not even post for and telling me that I either had a job or wanted me to set up an interview by clicking on a link that they have provided. These are all scams to load Malware onto my phone or computer. Don't do it! There is not a way that I can see to report this to CareerBuilder and they apparently do not do a good job of vetting out employers.

CareerBuilder scam emails

10 years ago I was caught in a round of layoffs at my company. So I started looking for a job, using sites like Indeed, CareerBuilder, and Monster. After more than a year, I stopped, and retired. For years after, I continued to get messages in my email from Indeed, although CareerBuilder and Monster tapered off and ended.About a year ago, I went to Indeed and got my resumé taken down and closed my account.Just a few days ago, I got an email from someone claiming to be CareerBuilder, saying people were looking at my resumé, so I decided to ask them to take it down and close my account. I couldn't remember my password, and so followed their instructions to reset it. I went to careerbuilder.com and signed in, but couldn't find a way to delete/close my account.I did find some instructions to go to "my profile" and choose an option, but all "my profile" wanted was for me to complete my profile. It had my name, address, and phone number, but nothing else. No "delete" option. So I emailed them to have all my info deleted, and my account closed. They replied, saying, "Please review the DSAR link [https...] and complete the required information. Afterward, you will receive an email to confirm your identity in order to proceed with the data deletion request. Once confirmed, it will take up to 5 days to process the deletion and remove all information from CareerBuilder.com and its global properties."At the same time, I started getting obvious phishing emails. They ALL were offering the same *work-from-home* "job"🚩, same "employer", *not my field of work*, in *badly broken English*🚩, from *individuals* (not companies) with Yahoo email addresses, that only MENTIONED CareerBuilder; and they all identified me by my name and phone number, as if that were all they knew about me.Bottom line, I never got close to deleting my account, and every reply I got wanted my personal info.SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED TO CAREERBUILDER. TRUST NOTHING FROM ANYONE CLAIMING TO BE THEM!

Stay away from this scam site.

They used to be ok but now are a scammer site. You sign up just to look at a job posting and later you start getting emails thanking you for applying! My inbox is inundated now with emails from different companies thanking me for applying and requesting an interview. Jobs that I would never have even applied to in the first place. Total waste of time.

Actually

Actually, I didn`t use their services directly, but I follow their blog and it seems to be a very useful service, not just for human resources specialists, but even job seekers and career builders:)

Useless providers of uselessness

Useless. Lots of spam and no actual job postings (everything gets redirected to a shady site which wants you to subscribe just to read the job description). Account deletion met with 'OK, we'll make a note of your request, but we "may" keep the data because law enforcement and ongoing business deals and we just feel like it'.

Full of Scammers from India

I haven't used this site in 8 years yet lately have been getting a lot of emails and calls from people in India and Middle East with fake job offers - some for positions I have never worked in - like Phlebotomist, Surgical Assistant, CPA, etc. You know they're fake because why would local companies use out of state staffing agencies with foreign names?Report all the emails and phone calls as phishing and with the FCC as it's illegal and violates federal laws.

Career Builder parsing DOES NOT WORK

Career Builder parsing is designed to destroy your resume, truncate your experience and refuses telling the TRUTH, which might be you have two jobs at the SAME TIME. They hire the cheapest crappiest programmers who can't imagine anything but a linear world because they live in their parents basement in the dark.

Full of scams, don't sign up!

Minutes after I signed up, the "work from home" scam emails began rolling in. After three within 30 minutes or so of creating my account, I deleted all my information and closed my account. This was two weeks ago. I still get 10-15 scam emails per day.

Don't walk, RUN

Having 38 years in the Staffing Industry, relying on recruiting platforms for new employee candidates. They are bullies, thieves and liars, highly unprofessional when things go awry on their end, which will happen... NO MATTER WHAT. One cannot improve the people there, the unprofessional lying and cheating, with the purpose of stealing your money. They stole 7,300 for 3 weeks worth of trying to do business. I gave it my very best. I had to leave for the sake of my Company staying in business. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM, you will regret it before the year is up. I believe in nobility, integrity and honesty because truth is supposed to win. Well truth with CareerBuilder does not begin or end. Phony professionalism until the contract is signed. They will abandon you, assign different reps without the knowledge of their own platform. High turnover, eager to steal. Do not walk... RUN while you can.
