You're better off studying a book
My college strongly promoted 240 Tutoring as the go-to resource for passing FTCE and other teaching certification exams. I used it for several different subjects, and despite consistently studying, I didn’t pass a single time. Why? Because the content in 240 Tutoring didn’t align well with the actual exam. Much of the material covered wasn’t even on the test, and the format was so different from the official exam that I felt surprised and unprepared on test day.After I stopped using 240 Tutoring and switched to an FTCE NavaEd book, I immediately noticed a difference. The material was more informative, better aligned with the exam content, and structured similarly to the actual test. Thanks to that resource, I passed each subject exam.In my experience, 240 Tutoring relied heavily on buzzwords and didn’t accurately reflect the structure or focus of the official FTCE exams. It would be far more effective if the program better mirrored the format and content of the real test.

I took the GACE Elementary Education assessment and did not pass on either attempt. Unfortunately, the study materials I used did not align with the types of questions on the exam. The content and format of the study guide were significantly different from what was assessed, making preparation feel disconnected from the actual test. The exam focused more on application and reasoning, while the study resources emphasized surface-level content. As a result, the preparation materials did not adequately prepare me for the structure or rigor of the assessment.

I used 240 to study for the TEXeS Science Composite exam. The first time I took the exam I did not pass. With 240Tutoring, I felt that I was able to work on areas that needed improvement efficiently. I also felt that this course had a comprehensive overview of what was on the actual exam. I felt over-prepared, which was very helpful. I would highly recommend using this course.

Very thorough - really helps you prepare
240 Tutoring provides thorough study materials using a very methodical approach (information review -> flashcard review -> mini-quizzes -> practice tests). It offers easy-to-follow dashboards to view progress and areas of strength/weakness. It also includes 3 practice tests, and if you score 90% or above on any of them, they guarantee your money back if you fail the actual Praxis. I loved all of these.Now for some drawbacks. Minor cons include that questions on mini-quizzes are sometimes repeated, and flashcards can sometimes be confusing if you don't recall the exact description provided in the review materials. The largest drawback is that users can't skip steps to get to the practice tests. You must go through all the review pages in a section before you can unlock and take that section's mini-quiz, and you complete these steps for all the sections before you can unlock the practice test. I highly recommend 240 Tutoring for students looking for thorough prep, but those just looking for a quick review before a practice test smight consider an alternative.

Harder than the actual exams
I was left to study for my OAE exams on my own, but was recommended 240 Tutoring by my university. I found a lot of the information relevant, and easy to follow, but I do think the practice assessments were much more difficult than my actual test. Although I was stressed about their difficulty during studying, I am grateful that I felt more than prepared during my actual exams.

My degree program required a subscription to 240 Tutoring to prepare for one test required for licensure in my state. I felt very comfortable going into the test because of my 240 Tutoring practice. I passed the test with a very high score. I chose to use 240 Tutoring to study for other Praxis tests, and again scored well over the minimum required score. I recommend 240 Tutoring to everyone I know who has to take Praxis tests!
