My first purchase of a yankee candle and I’m not happy with it. You can’t even smell it when it’s burning. The scent being sugared cinnamon apple. For the price of it I expected for it to smell more. I’ve had $13 candles that have put off a stronger scent.
They reduced the scent! It’s pretty sad when you light a big candle and it doesn’t smell. I have tried multiple scents and they are all the same. I wont buy anymore and my friends say the same. I’ll stick with Bath n Body. I’ve never had a candle from there that I didn’t like and they are much cheaper. Goodbye Yankee!
Yankee Candle has always been the standard that had a recipe that was a mystery that all candlemakers tried to duplicate. Not sure what happened but BOO to the new McIntosh. Once a favorite that was hard to find now just disappointing on all levels. Scent - 1, Burn - 1, black soot - 5, tunneling - 5. If your goal was to ruin one of the best candles if not the best then congratulations. We are going to try our second favorite, Sage & Citrus and if it also creates the Black Death effect (heavy soot) we will be done with Yankee.
I will never purchase Yankee Candles again! Absolutely no scent. Tunneling even with burning for several hours as recommended. I might be able to understand that if I had extinguished it after a short amount of time. Of course I don’t have my receipt, after months, to follow through on a request for refund. Never again!
I have recently tried the YC was melt. They are deficient in emitting the scent and it last only 1-2 hours. The wax melts and candles are not worth the high prices - don't buy!
Something changed, I have been buying yankee candles for decades. They made the house smell warm and welcoming, but things have changed. Yankee candle ups the price even more but there is little to no smell, I know what it should smell like after burning for an hour or two but can’t smell anything unless I go right up to it. Granted they do not have the tunneling problem like being but you buy them so your house has that nice warm smell. Looking somewhere else.

Every year I buy a large Cinnamon Stick Yankee Candle to burn over the Festive period. This year's large candle has reduced in weight from 623g to 567g, and now has 2, instead of 1 wick. The result was it burnt out much faster than in previous years. Ended up having to buy a candle from Next, much cheaper and lasted longer. Won't buy from Yankee Candle again as it's not good value now.
I’m not sure what has happened to Yankee Candle but they have hardly any smell while burning anymore. Something in the formula has been changed. I can buy a cheap candle and it’s just as good as Yankee now. I have 3 burning right now and hardly any smell at all. Guess I’m done with Yankee. They used to be good🤷♂️
I purchase this candle for years and LOVE then . I Will not buy a candle from Yankee ever again. Reason why is because I Will not continúe paying for worthless candlesThey don't smell at all. I got 2 large jars of the 1 Christmas pine scents the other of Bálsam and Cedar din't smell also I got the box of 6 small candle at Sam Club and nothing I will definately not purchase any again not worth the money
I ordered a deal for Christmas that was buy two jar candles get two free. It was the medium-sized jar candles, so they were only around $12 a piece, but I ordered them only because of the deal. After ordering I received an email saying that part of my order had to be canceled. It was the two free candles. Although I did not pay for them, I feel like it was very misleading to advertise a buy two get two then back out after the transaction is completed. Very pissed just because of the seemingly intentional deception. 😡
I ordered 6 candles on their website 2 weeks before Christmas. The site promised delivery in plenty of time for Christmas. It took them 10 days to ship it and now I’ve received contradictory messages from FedEx. One day my package is arriving on Friday. Then, it’s Saturday. I just checked and the package is nowhere near being delivered. Plus, one of the 6 candles was not available and reaching customer service to order another one was a nightmare. I like their candles but ordering on line was an exercise in futility. Next time I’ll either visit one of their few remaining stores or buy other brands. 3 days before Christmas and I still don’t know if or when I’ll see the candles. Recommendation; Buy their candles in person or from a third party, not on their website
I had to email twice to the company before I got a response, see below the email that I sent,"I recently made a purchase of candles from your organisation and subsequent received same today 11th December 2025.On opening the box containing the items I found damaged and broken glass contained therein.The box was completely in tact and the tape sealing the box was undisturbed.Please see time stamped pictures attached.Just to clarify! Glass lids from a number of the candle jars were missing, and in one instance a dangerous shard of glass was embedded in the wax of one candle. I'm completely at a loss as to how this could have happened, particularly when the box was undisturbed and the sealing tape was completely undisturbed.This leads me to no other conclusion other than this was the way the box left your premises with the damaged goods therein.Therefore in short I believe you do not have a quality control policy or procedures in operation at your works.I wish to return the defective items and receive a full refund forthwith.Please effect a full refund and advise completion of same as a matter of high importance."They told be discard the candle with the glass and return the ones with the lids missing , these are Christmas gifts and why should I have to go to all that hassle because they could not get the order to me correctly, a disgrace, never will I ever order from them again.I would love to show you the photo is a disgrace.
Order took seven days to ship during the holidays. The holiday delay notice wasn’t visible at checkout (customer service lied and said it was - I double checked). Customer service blamed the carrier and declined any accommodation.
This company is a dumpster fire. Do not order from the website as you will have to chase down your order status only to be told its being refunded after waiting 7 days. Wow just ordered again as I am a glutton for punishment. And surprise, surprise more problems. Save yourself the headaches and spend your money at other candle providers.
I ordered candies on 12-8-2025 and I gave not received my order nor a tracking number as of todays date of 12-13-2025.
I tried another candle called Tuscany and the scent was so much weaker than Yankee candles it was a huge disappointment.... your candles are the best I've smelled as far as the strength of the scent and I love your lilac blossom candles.... I wish you made some other flower scents like Lily or tulips
Ordering from Yankee Candle’s website is a joke. DO NOT order from their website. It’s a dumpster fire. I’ve placed two different orders; one early this year and one over a week ago. Neither order ever shipped and both had to be cancelled. Total inconvenience and incompetent customer service options available online to resolve order issues.
My deliveries were not received! A replacement was promised. It was not received! They owe me $300!!!! And no one has contacted me to say the order was again messed up and my refund is on the way. UPDATE: 3:06 pm. Even though this morning my account said my order was returned and there was no record of the second promised order, I just arrived home and there are boxes of candles on my carport! None of the quantities match. Not sure what happened or how. At least now I have what I paid for. FedEx is a large part of their delivery problem. I have no explanation for why their computer system is so off. Too much drama. I believe I am done.
Ordered 3 personalized candles for Christmas gifts, 1 showed up damaged. called customer support to have it replaced. waited, checked on order status-Yankee cancelled the order for my replacement candle and never notified me. called them again- this time they tell me they can't replace personalized candles. they refund me and tell me to redo my order. The refund they gave me does not cover the cost this time though. Wait. Check on order status- Canceled. Call them again- they tell me order is canceled this time cause images in the personalized candle are copyright (they already sent me 1 damaged candle with the same image on it but now they won't). They tell me i have to go to a store to get my candle made, or write them a letter stating they can use my copyright images. I own a business- i can't write them a letter stating they can use my images without a lawyer, nor would i. These demands are ridiculous to get a candle. never got my candle. terrible customer service!
