Many of their devices such as blowers, trimmers and other garden equipment are obsolete. Do not buy them! The batteries that they sold these devices with are no longer available and so owners who have bought multiple devices that rely on a single common battery are now stuck.
I ordered a deck belt from Toro’s official website, using their tool to select the correct part for my mower model. The site led me to the wrong belt, and at no point did it clearly state that the part was non-returnable.When I realized the mistake, I tried both chat and phone support (after searching extensively for a phone number). The phone representative was extremely rude, repeatedly spoke over me, and refused to listen or work with me on a solution. When I asked for a manager, she claimed there wasn’t one available, but that someone could call me back in 48 hours.Shockingly, right before the call, all my order information was visible in my account. Immediately after the call, all my order details had vanished. I strongly suspect the representative deleted my order information from the system, which is completely unacceptable. The OutcomeI am stuck with a $200 part I cannot use and a broken lawn mower.I cannot afford to buy the correct replacement part due to this error.I paid $50 for next-day shipping, but the part took over a week to arrive. The customer service experience was dismissive, unhelpful, and disrespectful. My order information mysteriously disappeared from my account after my call. What I NeedA return or exchange for the incorrect part.A refund for the shipping delay. An explanation for why my order information was deleted. An apology and assurance this will be addressed for future customers.Final ThoughtsThis has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I hope this review reaches someone at Toro who can actually help resolve this issue and prevent it from happening to others.
I bought a Toro 22" Recycler Mower from Lowe’s in March 2025. The mower stopped working after only 20 minutes of use. I contacted Toro several times, and they sent me to different dealers for repair — five times total — and it still doesn’t work. When I called Toro customer service on October 8, 2025, I asked for a replacement under warranty, but the representative refused and said “we don’t take it back after use,” even though it’s still under warranty. This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I wasted my whole summer and a lot of time taking this mower for repairs with no results. Very disappointed in Toro’s product quality and service.
I purchased your product from Lowes in April 2024 for $549 and I registered it on your website. During my first use the plastic piece holding the cable for self propulsion broke off and I had to return it to Lowes for replacement which was a hassle but after that I used it successfully for a number of months. I cleaned the air filter after each use and checked the oil periodically as per your instruction manual and added oil as necessary. In May 2025 after a month of use I was unable to get the mower to start as per your guarantee of quick start. I took it to a Toro authorized repair facility: Capitol Repair Services 6566 West Broad Street Richmond, VA 23230 and they told me they needed to change the oil. I told them that your instruction manual indicated that was not necessary. He was able to cover some of the work under the product warranty but I was still charged $75.00 for some of it. I was in a rock in a hard place if I wanted to mow my lawn. This week (08/12/25) my self propel stopped working and I was able to change the belt with the help of my son-in-law. I was surprised this needed replacement so soon. It looked worn and after replacement the self propel worked again. Now the Briggs and Stratton engine is not maintaining power during mowing especially after some use. I AM TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS MOWER AND ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD IN SUCH A SHORT TIME MOWING MY LAWN EVERY WEEK. I DON’T MIND DOING THE BASIC REGULAR MAINTENANCE AS PRESCRIBED IN YOUR USER’S MANUAL BUT IT IS NOT HOLDING UP TO THE USE IN MY YARD. I am open to a replacement mower to rectify this situation. Trying to contact ya’ll on the phone to discuss this problem is a complete frustration and waste of my time as no one answers or ever gets back to me!
I purchased the Toro Recycler Max with Personal Pace and Smart Stow with 22-inch deck in 2024. Sorry Toro but, this unit is terrible. Low power motor that bogs down a lot. It started hard brand new. This year, I can't get it to start at all. It's very disappointing to have a mower less than 1 year old with so many problems already.
years ago I bought a trimmer 51130t; I don't use it very much but what it is incredible is that a little plastic part in the head of the trimmer has broken and no spare parts are available; the only solution is to chiange the motor with a cost over the price of a new trimmer. I wrote to the customer care and the anwser is confused and without solution or help.
Bought Toro Pole Saw from Lowes for storm damage clean up. The battery was dead right out of the box but I used it with another Toro battery I had because I needed the saw... I took the battery to an Authorized Toro Customer Service center vs Lowes for repair thinking it should be pretty straight forward getting it replaced considering it had just been purchased, registered, and with all the documentation. It has been weeks now and a constant go between with Toro Customer Service and their "Authorized Service Center" with neither acting like they care to help. I will not be purchasing any Toro products ever again!
I purchased a new Toro walk behind, self propelled, Mod 21321 mower on Mar 31, 2025, from Lowes for my single home yard. I have lots of flower beds and trees so there is not much lawn to cut. I've been cutting this space for 18 years and have had great success with 2 Honda gas mowers in that time. When it was time to replace the last Honda, I could not find the model I was looking for at Home Depot, so I went across the street to Lowes and purchased what appeared to be the Toro version of the Honda gas mower I wanted. BIG MISTAKE! The shape of the deck forces all of the clippings into the back of the hollow, right front wheel, in both bag and mulch modes, leaving a long, 4 inch wide trail of clippings in its wake. I had to run back over the same places 2 or 3 times. The 3rd time I attempted to cut my grass the self propel unit quit working and I had to push the mower. I called Lowes and explained the issue to the Lawn & Garden Manager, I told him that I wanted to upgrade to a better, more expensive model, I'm willing to pay the difference, and he told me to contact Toro Customer Service for a Return Authorization, and he would exchange the mower. Toro's Customer Service is Terrible! I went through several layers of robot phone menus, departments and chat bots, only to finally get a person 2 weeks later that told me they do not issue Return Authorizations to customers of Lowes, I had to work with Lowes. So I called Lowes back and spoke with a store manager, that told me he could not authorize a return or exchange, that I needed to contact Toro, who only said I had to take it to a repair facility, even though I didn't want it repaired, I wanted it returned. He said he would send it to a repair facility but it could take 6 to 8 weeks to have it repaired. Again, I don't want it repaired, I want to exchange it, but they would not do that. I asked for the contact information for their factory rep, he said he hadn't seen one in a year and a half, since they put the product line in the store. So now I'm out over $400 for a mower that didn't last 60 days. I will not purchase anything else from Lowes or another Toro product, and will tell everyone I can to do the same.
Very horrible customer service I bought a pully by mistake I needed the tensioner and I placed my order on Sunday called them Monday to let them know I got the wrong part do you know they gave me the run around about returning it. 1 person told me I had to wait 24hrs to 48hrs then I can return it, well I called the next day still same bull shit run around and then I asked to speak with a manager then again 24hrs to 48hrs to speak with a manager Then I call back on june 10th the next day because I was ordering something else and they shipped the part out. when I told them not to ship it. still the same bull shit. Now they are telling me I can't return the part. BULL SHIT IT IS NOT ELECTRICAL. I HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND BUYING A TORO FOR THE AGGRAVATION OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I would have kept my toro but I gave it away to a lady who has almost no back yard. I did not like it because it did not perform well in a thick yard. It needs a discharge chute.
Toro does not support their products . I have several defective parts on my mower . A ripped grass catcher , defective gas cap , rusted rails . Toro is impossible to contact .
Toro lawn mowers are certainly good machines. Ours is okay, anyway. But woe betide anyone who needs a replacement part like a fuel cap! Toro USA is a ridiculous disaster! Toro refers customers to Briggs & Stratton (B&S), the engine supplier. It's like when Mercedes, with a broken engine part X, refers the customer to manufacturer Y in France because they - coincidentally - produce part X for Mercedes. The second problem: B&S in Germany only serves dealers, not private consumers. They are supposed to contact a dealer. The dealer then has to order the fuel cap from the wholesaler, who in turn delivers a gas cap that doesn't fit. From there, the vicious circle starts all over again: Please contact B&S, contact Toro, contact whoever else. Customer service is very, very low priority at Toro. Toro wrote at the end: Toro and B&S have had a very good working relationship for a long time, and it's always worked out well. That may be so, but the customer is on the sidelines in this system!
I recently purchased a 22 inch recycler mower and am trying to determine the year of the mower. I have contacted some reviews called Ask Toro, in which a Technician would respond to my question. Received the following comments:1.Am able to access this site without authorization2.In the other site, I was advised there would be a $5.00 look up fee and to provide my credit card information
I had to order some parts from Toro, which arrived fine, but some of which were unneeded. My issue is about the returns process -- their website lets you request a return, but they never give you the instructions on how to make the return. It's been three weeks now, and nothing from them.So if you order from Toro, be careful in what you select.
Tried to order a part for my snow blower....got the wrong part, had to pay to ship it back. Got credit for the part but had to pay for shipping out of pocket and they never contacted me to make it right or offer the correct part. Bad service.
Do not ever buy a Toro product. Let's say you have a question or concern, or even advice. They do not answer your call. Either they hang up or transfer you to a call center in India or in the Philippines.
Toro Lawnmower 21462 lasted less than 1 year (9/28/2023 purchase date). After several attempts it starts and then dies within 1 minute. I only used it to mow an average size residential lawn and it was not mistreated. Only used about 15 times over a 1-year period.Authorized Dealer was obtuse/equivocating in their support for warranty. I will never buy another product from Toro again.
I have owned Toro mowers since 1982 and have always been pleased with the build quality. I’m heart broken that my latest Personal Pace mower is junk. I’m very particular with my equipment and look after it meticulously. This mower is two years old and the deck is rusting already. Guess it’s the sign of the times. Very disappointed that I spent $700 on a mower that is imploding after 2 seasons. Bye bye Toro. I’ve bought my last mower from you.
Publicpublished review 4/28/24I bought a Toro self propelled at the end of last summer and used it 2 and it was great. I got it out to use this year and wouldn’t start . I changed plug and it finally start but I smoked the neighborhood with all the smoke coming out and it finally cut off. Biggest waste of $600 . Should have stuck with snapper , going to put this Toro beside the road for trash pickup!
